Obama Approval Numbers On Steady Rise Again

In a new Washington ABC Poll, President Obama’s approval has risen to an impressive 51%. Impressive, considering the nature of his opposition – people who have no problem making up stuff about him and his policies just to keep his numbers down.

The movement in his ratings — which we would emphasize has not yet been verified in other public polls — has been slight on a month-to-month basis. But his ratings have moved in a positive direction in two consecutive Post-ABC surveys. In May and July, Obama’s ratings were more negative than positive, with 45 percent to 46 percent approving and 50 percent disapproving of his performance. That tipped the other way in September, to 49 percent approval and 46 percent disapproval. And that slight shift has continued in the latest survey.

Chris Christie Calls The President the “Weakling in the White House” – Video

I remember the days when the office of the presidency was respected, and it didn’t matter who was occupying that office – whether he/she was a Democrat of Republican – Americans generally awarded some level of respect to that person.

Those days are long gone.

Since Republicans realized that disrespecting the president was the patriotic thing to do, and since the Republican politicians realized that their patriotic followers were all for disrespecting the president, they have fell over themselves trying to out disrespect each other. The Republican politician capable of hauling the most filth to the president get the most love from the patriots in the Republican party.

Speaking on Morning Joe this morning, Chris Christie, currently running for the same office he is disrespecting, chalked up some love from the people in his party when he called Obama the “weakling in the White House.”

According to Christie, the President of the United States is a “weakling” because he has not spent the lives of Americans and the military in another war, this time, a war with Russia.  Christie claimed that if he were president, the first thing he would do is implement a no-fly zone in Syria, and start a war with Russia if Putin disobeyed.

“And my first phone call would be to Vladimir,” Christie said. “And I’d say, ‘Listen, we’re enforcing this no-fly zone.  And I mean we’re enforcing it against anyone, including you. So don’t try me. Don’t try me. Because I’ll do it.”

Obama on Clinton’s Email Scandal – She Could Have Have Handled it Better

In an interview with CBS, President Obama concluded that his former Secretary of State and current leader in the Democratic run for president, Hillary Clinton, made a mistake when she decided to host her own private server for her private and government emails.

“I think she’d be the first to acknowledge that maybe she could have handled the original decision better and the disclosures more quickly,” Obama said.Republicans have used Hillary’s email decision as a political weapon to attack her.

Obama downplayed the threat to national security, and when it was pointed out that his administration has prosecuted people for having classified material on their private computers, the president said he didn’t get the impression there was an intent to “hide something or to squirrel away information.” He also said he was not initially aware of her use of the private email server.

There are still questions being raised about the security of that system. Former National Security Agency (NSA) contractor Edward Snowden told Al Jazeera’s Mehdi Hasan recently that Clinton’s use of a private server was a “problem.”

Senate investigators recently discovered that Clinton’s private server was subjected to unspecified hacking attempts in 2013 from China, South Korea and Germany. The FBI is still examining her system, and that review could reveal evidence, if any, of unauthorized intrusions into her server or any attempts to siphon off her data.

President Obama is Frustrated With Yet Another Mass Shooting – Video

And rightly so. President Obama has given so many of these speeches that, according to his statement, Americans are sadly taking these shootings as “routine.” But this speech on the most recent shooting in Oregon seems somewhat different. You can sense the anger, the frustration in the president as he called out Congress on its refusal to do anything yet again as more Americans are killed.

“This has become routine. The reporting is routine, my response here at this podium has become routine,” the President said.

The president spoke to the American people, urging them to vote for leaders who will lead and get sensible gun laws enacted in this country.

Trump Calls McCain “Harsh” for Correcting Woman Who Called Obama “Arab” – Video

Trump has come under heavy fire over the last week for allowing a man at his town hall event to call President Obama a Muslim. And the comparison was made when in 2008, a woman at a John McCain town hall called Mr. Obama an “Arab.” Back then, John McCain stopped the woman, took the mic and corrected her, telling her that Mr. Obama is a decent American man with whom he sometimes disagree.

And rightly so, John McCain gained national respect from both Democrats and some Republicans for that moment of putting politics aside and telling the truth for a change.

But then there is Donald Trump.

Given that same opportunity to do something admirable, Donald Trump allowed the man to make his statement and even agreed with the man with his answer, “We’re gonna be looking at a lot of different things,” Trump answered.

But Trump wasn’t finished. In another event in Iowa on Saturday, Trump addressed the incident not by apologizing, but by attacking John McCain for being “harsh” against the woman in 2008.

“Remember the famous day when John McCain just ripped that microphone out of the woman’s hands?” Trump asked his audience while giving a speech to evangelical Christians in Iowa. “That was a little bit harsh, to be honest with you. Does anybody agree with me? That was harsh, wasn’t it? They gave him so much credit. Not me, I didn’t give him credit.”

Fish Spawns on Obama’s Shoes – Video

When you think of shoes and George Bush, you see a middle eastern man angrily throwing his shoes at the former president. And from now on, when you think of Barack Obama and shoes, you’ll remember the Salmon that couldn’t keep its composure in the presence of the president.

You see that?” Obama declared Wednesday as he gripped a fish with two hands. “Something’s got on my shoes. … Generally you don’t want fish spawning on your feet. He said he was happy to see me.”

Visiting an isolated fishing village on a grey, overcast day, the president was full of admiration for the whole operation: He pronounced salmon jerky “really good,” tried unsuccessfully to scare up a knife so he could attempt to filet a fish, and carefully inspected smokehouse drying racks.

The president, wearing orange rubber gloves, held up a large silver salmon for reporters to admire but hastened to add: “I didn’t catch it. I don’t want anybody thinking I’m telling, you know, fish tales.”

He listened intently as a woman holding her own wiggly fish nonchalantly explained the fishing process.

As for the souvenir can of fish he received, Obama instructed aides not to go eating it.

Another breakthrough for the Obama administration. Despite all the naysayers, and it comes as no surprise to learn that they are all mostly in the Republican party, President Obama announced a deal between the United States and other countries including Russia and China, to curb Iran’s nuclear ambition.

Obama on Justice Ruth Ginsburg – “The toughest justice on the Supreme Court”

She is 82 years old, and considered one of the wisest and most vocal of all the justices on the Supreme Court. And President Obama honored Ruth Bader Ginsburg in a speech he gave at the White House.

Speaking at the White House Conference on Aging, Obama mentioned a number of Americans who show that senior citizens are able to live healthier, more productive lives than ever before.

“Arguably the toughest justice on the Supreme Court is the oldest, Ruth Bader Ginsburg,” he said. “Also known as the Notorious RBG. She’s tough.”

Ginsburg’s fans gave her the nickname, a play on the late rapper Notorious B.I.G. It’s caught fire, appearing on a Tumblr site, t-shirts and even tattoos.

Obama’s praise for Ginsburg, 82, comes weeks after after the high court handed him a pair of victories.

A leader of the court’s liberal wing, Ginsburg sided with the majority to uphold a key provision of the president’s healthcare law and legalize same-sex marriage nationwide.

“Americans who once might have been dismissed as out of touch or past their primes are making vital contributions in every field.”

The president said the contributions of older Americans like Ginsburg sparks all Americans “to raise our ambitions about what we hope to achieve in our golden years.”

Watch President Obama’s Eulogy for Rev. Clementa Pinckney – Video

President Obama rose to the occasion once again in today’s eulogy for the pastor of Emanuel AME in Charleston South Carolina, Rev. Clementa Pinckney,  calling Pinckney a “good man,” who was “full of empathy and fellow feeling.”

“We are here today to a remember a man of God who lived by faith, a man who believed in things not seen, a man who believed there were better days ahead off in the distance,” said the president, holding back no emotion, in beginning the eulogy for the service at the TD Arena in Charleston, S.C. “He believed his efforts would deliver a better life for those who followed.”

And then, the President of the United States broke into a rendition of “Amazing Grace!” Simply amazing!

President Obama to White House Heckler – “Listen, You’re in MY House…!” – Video

 (AP Photo/Charles Dharapak, File)

Absolutely Mr. President. And if I wereyou, I would have added, “… and if you don’t shut up, I’ll just run for a third term!” He would get my vote! 🙂

You go Mr. President!

As Obama was speaking at a White House event honoring LGBT Pride Month on Wednesday, an accented voice rang out from the crowd. Obama wasn’t amused.

“Shame on you,” he told his heckler, who was protesting deportations under the Obama administration.

Obama responded, “Listen you’re in my house … it’s not respectful.”

The interruption persisted, however, and Obama asked for the heckler to be removed from the East Room.

“As a general rule I am just fine with a few hecklers. But not when I’m up here in the house,” he said, as Vice President Joe Biden clapped him on the back.

Obama said later if guests are “eating the hors d’oeuvres and drinking the booze,” they’re typically expected to listen respectfully.
