Republican Analysts Surprised that GOP has Ignored the Flint Water Crisis

For the rest of the country, this is not a surprise. But some in the Republican party are shocked at the apparent coördinated effort by their Republican presidential candidates to avoid the Flint Water Crisis at all costs.

A number of Republican operatives and allies Friday lamented that the GOP has largely been ignoring the water crisis in Flint and warned that it sends a terrible message to the nation.

“This is an amoral display of political apathy by Republican leaders. Their failure to run to the crisis, roll up their sleeves and pitch in tells the world that we are still the same old Republicans who only care about those who would vote for or contribute to them,” said Alex Castellanos, a political operative who is not working for any of the Republican presidential contenders.

Castellanos said he agreed with an op-ed in the New York Times Thursday written by former White House speechwriter Matt Latimer, who worked for President George W. Bush.

Latimer, a Flint native, wrote that the water crisis was “the Republicans’ chance to show their worth,” and to demonstrate that party leaders who have tried to refocus the GOP on poverty, like House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin, mean what they say.

Why aren’t Republican presidential candidates, he asked, “shipping in water bottles and holding fund-raisers for kids now condemned to lowered expectations because their brains were poisoned by lead?”

Donald Trump Agrees and Blames Obama Because Palin’s Son Abuses his Girlfriend

Folks, what we have here is the Republican party, a group of people who love referring to themselves as “The Party of Personal Responsibility,” except when it comes to taking personal responsibility for their own actions, and especially when they think they can blame Obama for their own actions.

In an interview on CNN’s Don Lemon, Republican presidential leader, Donald Trump, sided with personal responsibility leader, Sarah Palin, and blamed President Obama because Palin’s son was arrested for beating up his girlfriend. Palin first cast blame on the President when news of the arrest broke, then just a couple of days later, Donald Trump jumped on the Blame Obama bandwagon.

“There was tremendous press,” Trump told Lemon, “and I think it’s something that’s very important to discuss not even for her son, but for so many other sons and daughters that are coming back from the Middle East where they have, you know, traumatic problems, they have tremendous problems and I told her,” he explained. “I actually suggested. I think I said I think it would be a great forum. And I know, she started the dialogue.

“I think it’s a very important dialogue. Because she told me that they’re coming back, so many are coming back and they are, you know, they’re under tremendous pressure and tremendous strain. There’s no question about it.”

“Do you think it’s fair to link the president with her son’s issues?” Lemon asked.

“Oh, I think so,” Trump responded. “Look, you know, everything starts at the top and he’s the president. And I think you can certainly do that. From what I understand, they just — and all you have to do is look at the Veteran’s Administration, look at the bad, the horrible care our vets get.”

“One of the many things I’m going to do is I’m going to straighten that mess out. You take a look at the Phoenix Veterans Administration in Phoenix, Arizona. It’s a disgrace. It’s a cesspool. It’s dishonest. It’s corrupt in every way, it’s incompetent.”

Lawsuit Against Bill Cosby Dismissed

The Pittsburgh woman who brought a defamation lawsuit against Comedian Actor Bill Cosby back in October, saw her suit dismissed on Thursday by a federal judge. The lawsuit alleged that when Bill Cosby and his representatives denied he sexually assaulted her and the other women, his denial in essence called her a liar, thus, defaming her.

Thursday’s decision dismisses the October lawsuit filed by 48-year-old Renita Hill with prejudice. That means she cannot try to amend and re-file the lawsuit.

Hill went public with her allegations in November 2014. She sued Cosby, saying she was made out to be a “liar” and “extortionist” when the comedian, his wife and his attorney issued blanket denials to claims that Cosby drugged and molested several women.

The judge agreed with Cosby’s attorneys that the statements were opinions protected by the First Amendment.
Hill’s attorney promised to appeal. Cosby’s representatives have yet to comment.

Donald Trump’s Ad Tears into Hypocritical Ted Cruz on Immigration – Ad

We know they’re all hypocrites, masters at saying one thing now because they’re looking for votes. But what Donald Trump did to Ted Cruz in this new ad was actually brilliant. He matched the things Cruz is saying now to what he said in the past, and guess what? Ted Cruz, as it turns out, is just your regular everyday Republican establishment politician, saying the things he deem necessary to win over a particular audience.

In other words, Ted Cruz is the epitome of a politician… although he wants you to believe he is an “outsider!”

The video below shows just two different sides of Ted Cruz on the immigration/amnesty issue – his stance when he was for immigration because it was the right thing to do, and his stance now being against immigration, since the people he is pandering to for votes are also against immigration.

Crooked Oklahoma Cop Sentenced to 263 Years in Prison

He obviously thought sexually molesting and raping women in a low-income Oklahoma City neighborhood would go unnoticed. Who would believe these women, he must have thought. But their voices were heard and the judge and jury agreed, sending Daniel Holtzclaw to prison for the rest of his life.

Jurors had recommended that Daniel Holtzclaw be sentenced to 263 years in prison for preying on women in 2013 and 2014. District Judge Timothy Henderson agreed, said Holtzclaw will serve the terms consecutively and denied his request for an appeal bond.

Holtzclaw waived his right to remain in custody in the county jail for 10 days, instead opting to be taken directly to prison. Defense attorney Scott Adams said Holtzclaw will appeal.

“It is what it is,” Adams said. “It wasn’t a surprise.”

Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater had strong words for Holtzclaw, who was convicted last month on 18 counts, including four first-degree rape counts as well as forcible oral sodomy, sexual battery, procuring lewd exhibition and second-degree rape. Holtzclaw was acquitted on 18 other counts.

“I think people need to realize that this is not a law-enforcement officer that committed these crimes. This is a rapist who masqueraded as a law-enforcement officer,” Prater said after the sentencing. “If he was a true law enforcement officer he would have upheld his duty to protect those citizens rather than victimize them.”

Stephen Colbert Does Sarah Palin – Video

I didn’t think it was possible. I didn’t think anyone would want to venture out into that wilderness. But Stephen Colbert is not like anyone else, and on Wednesday night, after Sarah Palin announced her endorsement of Donald Trump for president, Stephen Colbert did Sarah Palin and he did it like a master.

Call it Palin-ese.

Trump Supporter Proudly Displays his Racism Along with His Trump Sign

On the same day when blacks and whites came together to celebrate the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, and on the same day when President Obama paid a visit to Omaha Nebraska, a Trump supporter decided to display his racism on full view for all to see.

In the window of his home, the Trump supporter, a man named Steve Bowman, put up a sign saying “NIGGA OBAMA” next to his “TRUMP” poster. When asked about his racist views for the first African-American president, Bowman answered that he “was born in the 60’s,” and is apparently doing all he can to keep his 60’s racist mentality alive and well in 2016.

His neighbor, an Africa American woman with two small children said that she is used to seeing this level of racism and hatred from her neighbor. She said that she will not allow  Bowman’s hate to get the best of her.

“He’s been putting up stuff like that constantly. Constantly putting up stuff like that and I’ll bring it up to him gently, you know, ‘take that down please you know this is not the neighborhood for that. He understands and he will take it down after I mention it to him, but then he’ll put something else up.”

Numerous Reports of Poisonous Water in Flint Dismissed by Snyder’s Administration

Politics over people? Why yes please!

Since releasing his emails regarding the Flint water crisis, reports show that the Republican governor of Michigan, Rick Snyder, along with members of his administration repeatedly dismissed numerous findings that Flint’s drinking water was highly contaminated with lead.

A top aide to Michigan’s governor referred to people raising questions about the quality of Flint’s water as an “anti-everything group.” Other critics were accused of turning complaints about water into a “political football.” And worrisome findings about lead by a concerned pediatrician were dismissed as “data,” in quotes.

That view of how the administration of Gov. Rick Snyder initially dealt with the water crisis in the poverty-stricken, black-majority city of Flint emerged from 274 pages of emails, made public by the governor on Wednesday.

The correspondence records mounting complaints by the public and elected officials, as well as growing irritation by state officials over the reluctance to accept their assurances.

It was not until late in 2015, after months of complaints, that state officials finally conceded what critics had been contending: that Flint was in the midst of a major public health emergency, as tap water pouring into families’ homes contained enough lead to show up in the blood of dozens of people in the city. Even small amounts of lead could cause lasting health and developmental problems in children.

President Obama’s Message in Flint Michigan – Video

“I am very proud of what I’ve done as president,” President Obama said Wednesday in Flint Michigan. “But the only job that’s more important to me is the job of father. And I know if I was a parent up there, I would be beside myself if my kids’ health could be at risk.”

The president went on to explain that he “declared a federal emergency in Flint” which would ensure that more resources are sent to help fight the Republican-made water crisis.

“It is a reminder of why you can’t shortchange basic services that we provide to our people,” Mr. Obama said, a direct reference to the governor’s decision to get contaminated water from Flint’s river for the people’s use. “And that we together provide as a government to make sure that public health and safety is preserved,” Obama said.

Sarah Palin Blames Obama for her Son’s Domestic Abuse Arrest

On Tuesday, Sarah Palin endorsed Donald Trump for president. But just hours before her endorsement, her son Track, was arrested on a domestic abuse charge.

And just like the responsible Republican that she is, Sarah Palin did what any other Republican would do – pass the buck and blame… wait for it… President Obama for her son’s domestic abuse arrest.

“My son, like so many others, they come back a bit different,” Palin said, when talking about Track’s arrest. “They come back hardened. They come back wondering if there is that respect for what it is that their fellow soldiers and airman and every other member of the military so sacrificially have given to this country, and that starts from the top.”

She continued:

“That comes from our own president, where they have to look at him and wonder, ‘Do you know what we go through? Do you know what we’re trying to do to secure America?'”

“So when my own son is going through what he goes through coming back, I can certainly relate with other families who kind of feel these ramifications of some PTSD and some of the woundedness that our soldiers do return with. And it makes me realize, more than ever, it is now or never, for the sake of America’s finest, that we have that commander-in-chief who will respect them and honor them.”

So you see Obama, it’s you! It’s all you!

Record Breaking – 2015 Was Hottest Year Ever Recorded

Republicans are always talking about the world they want to leave to their kids and grandkids. But these same Republicans will go to war with anyone claiming that climate change is happening, and that man is the biggest contributor to that change.

Scientists reported Wednesday that 2015 was the hottest year in recorded history by far, breaking a record set only the year before — a burst of heat that has continued into the new year and is roiling weather patterns all over the world.

In the continental United States, the year was the second-warmest on record, punctuated by a December that was both the hottest and the wettest since record-keeping began. One result has been a wave of unusual winter floodscoursing down the Mississippi River watershed

Although there are physical, tangible and scientific evidence to back up a warming atmosphere, Republicans continue to doubt the facts because they are deeply entwined with the special interests that make billions from the elements contributing to global warming.

And although the records go up and up each year, Republicans continue to bury their head in the sand as these special interests grease their pockets.

Cheers to our kids and grandkids!

Donald Trump Sees Possible Role for Sarah Palin In his Administration

The quitter from Alaska, the half-term governor who was fired during  her first contract with Fox News, the woman who couldn’t make her failed website “great again,” but watched helplessly as it fall by the wayside, that woman, Sarah Palin, might join Donald Trump in his administration… God forbids a Trump Administration becomes a reality.

“I haven’t discussed anything with her about what she’d do, but she’s somebody I really like and I respect, and certainly she could play a position if she wanted to,” Trump said of the former Alaska governor, who threw her backing behind the real estate mogul on Tuesday.

While Trump insisted he hasn’t considered vice presidential candidates yet, he said he doubts Palin would be interested because “she’s been through that,” referring to her role as the 2008 running mate of Sen. John McCain.

Trump hopes Palin’s formal backing, the highest-profile endorsement yet for the Republican front-runner, could provide the boost he needs to distance himself from rival Ted Cruz. The Texas senator has been his closest competitor in numerous polls in Iowa, which will hold the nation’s first presidential primary contest on Feb. 1.
