Man Dead For Over 200 Years Gets His US Citizenship

Democrats and Republicans cannot agree on much in today’s politics, but the two came together to grant citizenship to Bernardo de Gálvez y Madrid, the Viscount of Gálvez who died over 200 years ago as a hero of the American Revolution.

He’s the eponym of Galveston, Texas, having led battles against the British at Pensacola and along the Gulf Coast.

Congress has only given “honorary” citizenship to seven people, including Winston Churchill and more prominent Revolutionary heroes like the Marquis de Lafayette and Count Casimir Pulaski.

Gálvez appears to be the first native Spanish-speaker to get the designation — at a time when the House hasn’t acted on Senate-passed immigration legislation, which includes a path to citizenship for millions of immigrants who came here illegally.

The House Judiciary Committee is set to act on the bill later this week.

Republican Brain Louie Gohmert Has Figured Out The Immigration Crisis – Video

Republican brainchild Louie Gohmert believes he has fugured out who is responsible for the immigration crisis developing in South Texas, where thousands of kids and young adults are illegally crossing the border into the United States.

According to Gohmert, Obama is orchestrating the illegal migration because the immigrants would vote for Democrats in the election.

Speaking to Steve Malzberg of Newsmax, Gohmert showed the true size of his brain.

“In the end, they have said that they want to turn Texas blue, they want to turn America blue. And if you bring in hundreds of thousands or millions of people and give them the ability to vote and tell them — as Quico Canseco said, he had illegals in his district that were told, ‘If you want to keep getting the benefits, you have to vote, and President Obama’s lawyers are not going to allow them to ask for an ID, so go vote or you’re going to lose the benefits you’re getting now.’ That drives people to vote and it will ensure that Republicans don’t ever get elected again.”

This utter nonsense is coming from an elected official in the Republican party. Louis Gohmert and his band of imbeciles are the ones making up the party of Lincoln.

That he, an elected official, would open his mouth and say such hogwash, just shows how far from grace the party has fallen, and given their current makeup, there is no coming back for this bunch.

The question now is, are you going to go down with these numbskulls, or are you going to do your part to progress, to move forward. Is today’s regressive Republican party the future you envisioned?

Then vote like your future depends on it, cause it does.

U.S Begins Destroying Syria’s Chemical Weapons

Aljazeera is reporting that the US container ship Cape Ray has started to neutralise chemical materials that were once part of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s weapons arsenal, the US Defence Department has said.

The ship, located in international waters in the Mediterranean Sea, began processing about 600 metric tonnes of chemical weapons and the raw materials that could be used in them, Pentagon spokesman Colonel Steve Warren said on Monday,

The US government has said the materials include mustard gas and components for the nerve agent sarin.

The materials were transferred to the Cape Ray earlier in July from a vessel that brought them out of Syria, the Reuters news agency reported.

The Utah Cop Who Murdered His Family, Secretly Raped His Wife

Heated text messages between Joshua Boren and his wife Kelly, just hours before Boren – a cop from Utah – killed Kelly, his two kids, his mother-in-law and then himself, showed that Boren drugged, raped and videotaped the raping of his wife on multiple occasions, according to a Spanish Fork Police report.

In them, Kelly Boren confronted her husband about raping her and told him their marriage was over, The Deseret News reported. The couple already had been separated for some time.

Joshua Boren’s therapist told authorities that Boren drugged his wife and videotaped himself sexually assaulting her on more than one occasion.

Kelly Boren learned of the assaults when she discovered the tapes in 2013, said Spanish Fork Police Lt. Matt Johnson. She told a few friends, but she did not report the assaults to police because she didn’t want to ruin her husband’s law enforcement career, the report says.

The night before she was killed, Kelly Boren brought up the alleged sexual assault again, texting the word “rape” to her husband four times, the documents show. “I hate my life because (of) you,” she texted. “You killed a part of me.”

She wrote in another text: “I don’t want to live in fear and hate and anger.”

Nigel McIntosh, the brother of Marie King, speaks at the funeral for her, daughter, Kelly Boren, and her grandchildren, Joshua (Jaden) Boren and Haley Boren at Lindquist”s Layton Chapel in Layton, Utah.

The next morning, Kelly Boren told her husband she would take the kids, prompting Joshua Boren to reply by text: “Don’t involve the kids, they are innocent.”

The police report says Joshua Boren was sexually abused as a child, struggled with drug addiction as a young man and pornography addiction throughout his life, and had a deep-rooted hatred for his mother.

After his father committed suicide when he was 5, Joshua Boren’s mother began using drugs and seeing several men, the report states. One of those men allegedly abused Joshua Boren, and he blamed his mother for not protecting him, his sister told police.

The therapist told police Boren was like a “3-year-old boy stuck in a big man’s body.”

“Josh was a very troubled individual that felt like he was about to lose his wife and children,” police wrote in the report.

Sleeping Fan Sues NY Yankees and ESPN for Defamation

The moral of this story – be careful if who you make fun of at a Yankees game. You just might get sued for $10 million.

A man caught on camera snoozing at a Yankees game last month is suing ESPN, the New York Yankees, and announcers Dan Shulman and John Kruk, court documents said.

Andrew Rector is asking for $10 million for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress because of comments made to millions of viewers during the live telecast of the April 13 Yankees vs. Red Sox game.

According to the lawsuit filed in New York, the Rector claimed he was show in a false light, that his reputation was damaged and it was no one’s business if he was napping.

The lawsuit claimed the announcers insinuated Rector is “stupid”, “not worthy to be a fan”, “a fatty cow that needs two seats at all times”, and “socially bankrupt.”

Rick Perry Snubs Obama – Refuse To Shake President’s Hand on Tarmac

President Obama invited Rick Perry to meet him at the airport in Austin Texas, but Perry apparently had better things to do. Politicking.

In his refusal letter to the administration, Perry pointed out that he didn’t want a “quick handshake,” but instead, wants a “substantive meeting” to discuss the immigration issues in South Texas.

“I appreciate the offer to greet you at Austin-Bergstrom Airport, but a quick handshake on the tarmac will not allow for a thoughtful discussion regarding the humanitarian and national security crises enveloping the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas,” Perry wrote in a letter on Monday to the president, according to the Austin American-Statesman. “I would instead offer to meet with you at any time during your visit to Texas for a substantive meeting to discuss this critical issue. With the appropriate notice, I am willing to change my schedule to facilitate this request.”

This refusal to meet the president regardless of the reasoning will play beautifully in the conservative arena. And especially since Perry is considering a run for the White House in 2016, his diss of the president is sure to attract a few more votes.

Politicking.

Newspaper Headline – “The N*gger In The White House”

This is the headline one of the local papers here in New York, the WestView News, ran.

Now they claimed that this headline and the article that goes with it was actually written in support of the president, mocking the blatant racists who oppose the president simply because he is black. But to me that doesn’t matter. There are just certain things that should not be said and this is one of them.

What ever happened to common decency?

It’s Official – Thad Cochran Wins in Mississippi

The final results were turned over to the Secretary of State on Monday, and they showed Cochran winning the Republican primary by 7667 votes.

Meanwhile, his Teaparty challenger Chris McDaniel, is asking for a do over, claiming that some Mississippi residents voted illegally because they are registered Democrats. State rules do not prevent cross-party voting, but prohibits voting in both Democratic and Republican elections.

Cochran will face Democrat Travis Childers in the November midterm elections.
