8-Year-Old Boy Charged With Murdering 1-Year-Old Girl

The 8-year-old was apparently the oldest child in the house and left there the supervised the 1-year-old and three other children. He attacked and killed the child because the she wouldn’t stop crying. And where was the mother you ask? She was out clubbing for the night!

An 8-year-old Birmingham boy is charged with murder in the beating death of a toddler girl left in his care, the youngest person in recent memory charged with murder in Jefferson County.

The girl’s mother is charged with manslaughter after police say she left her young daughter in the care of a group of children while she partied at a nightclub.

“This is one  of the most heartbreaking investigations that I have seen in over 30 years of my law enforcement career,” said Birmingham police Chief A.C. Roper.

“There are just too many deep rooted issues in this horrific crime. It’s extremely troubling from so many different angles and there are no law enforcement answers to prevent it,” Roper said. “We’ve been concerned about the kids and the future effect on their lives. The bottom line is an innocent young baby lost her life and that should be a wake-up call for our community.”

Kelci Devine Lewis, who turned 1 in May, was found unresponsive in her crib at 10:45 a.m. Oct. 12. Police were called to the home on Second Avenue South, and Kelci was taken to Children’s of Alabama where she was pronounced dead at 11:07 a.m.

Authorities have said there were visible injuries to the girl. She died from blunt force trauma to the head, and internal injuries, Birmingham police spokesman Lt. Sean Edwards has said.

Gun “Accidentally” Kills Gun Owner While Gun Owner Played With Gun

But wait… guns dont kill people, right?

The man was drinking with friends in the area of 4600 West and Dunsmore Way and showing them his gun at the time of the fatal accident, said West Valley police spokeswoman Roxanne Vainuku.

The man took the magazine out of the gun and pulled the trigger while pointing it at his own throat, Vainuku said. Emergency workers responded to the scene about 7:45 p.m.

The man’s name wasn’t immediately released Friday night.

Vainuku said all indications are that the shooting was accidental.

He didn’t appear to express any sort of suicidal thoughts. … At this point it looks like a simple accident,” she said.

Nobody else was hurt in the incident.

“Never point a gun at another person – even if you have the magazine out of the gun, as we see with that incident tonight,” Vainuku said. “It turned out to be a deadly decision.”

Ohio Bartender Threatens to Kill John Boehner

Killing John Boehner is not going to solve the problem. Boehner’s issue is not that he is alive, but that his party is. So killing the man is the wrong way to go. One must eliminate the Republican party and then, this country will see true progress.

An Ohio bartender with a history of psychiatric illness was indicted last week on a charge of threatening to murder House Speaker John Boehner, possibly by poisoning his drink, according to records made available Tuesday.

A grand jury indictment filed in U.S. District Court in Ohio on Jan. 7 identified the accused man as Michael R. Hoyt, a resident of Cincinnati.

A separate criminal complaint said Hoyt was fired last fall from his job at a country club in West Chester, Ohio, where he served drinks to Boehner, who is a member.

In a subsequent conversation with a police officer, Hoyt said that before leaving, he “did not have time to put something in John Boehner’s drink,” according to the complaint.

The court paper also said, “Hoyt told the officer he was Jesus Christ and that he was going to kill Boehner because Boehner was mean to him at the country club and because Boehner is responsible for Ebola.”

According to the criminal complaint, Hoyt said he had a loaded Beretta .380 automatic pistol and he was going to shoot Boehner. Hoyt volunteered to be taken to a psychiatric hospital, and police took his weapon.

The Utah Cop Who Murdered His Family, Secretly Raped His Wife

Heated text messages between Joshua Boren and his wife Kelly, just hours before Boren – a cop from Utah – killed Kelly, his two kids, his mother-in-law and then himself, showed that Boren drugged, raped and videotaped the raping of his wife on multiple occasions, according to a Spanish Fork Police report.

In them, Kelly Boren confronted her husband about raping her and told him their marriage was over, The Deseret News reported. The couple already had been separated for some time.

Joshua Boren’s therapist told authorities that Boren drugged his wife and videotaped himself sexually assaulting her on more than one occasion.

Kelly Boren learned of the assaults when she discovered the tapes in 2013, said Spanish Fork Police Lt. Matt Johnson. She told a few friends, but she did not report the assaults to police because she didn’t want to ruin her husband’s law enforcement career, the report says.

The night before she was killed, Kelly Boren brought up the alleged sexual assault again, texting the word “rape” to her husband four times, the documents show. “I hate my life because (of) you,” she texted. “You killed a part of me.”

She wrote in another text: “I don’t want to live in fear and hate and anger.”

Nigel McIntosh, the brother of Marie King, speaks at the funeral for her, daughter, Kelly Boren, and her grandchildren, Joshua (Jaden) Boren and Haley Boren at Lindquist”s Layton Chapel in Layton, Utah.

The next morning, Kelly Boren told her husband she would take the kids, prompting Joshua Boren to reply by text: “Don’t involve the kids, they are innocent.”

The police report says Joshua Boren was sexually abused as a child, struggled with drug addiction as a young man and pornography addiction throughout his life, and had a deep-rooted hatred for his mother.

After his father committed suicide when he was 5, Joshua Boren’s mother began using drugs and seeing several men, the report states. One of those men allegedly abused Joshua Boren, and he blamed his mother for not protecting him, his sister told police.

The therapist told police Boren was like a “3-year-old boy stuck in a big man’s body.”

“Josh was a very troubled individual that felt like he was about to lose his wife and children,” police wrote in the report.

4th of July Business as Usual in Chicago – 60 People Shot, 9 Killed

While the rest if the nation celebrated America’s independence, Chicago residents were busy doing what they are slowly becoming known for – shooting each other. The holiday weekend left 60 people shot, 9 killed.

The first fatal shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Friday, kicking the weekend off to a violent start. Corey Hudson, 34, was killed in a drive-by shooting. Hudson was fatally shot, while his friend was left wounded. There were also three police-involved shootings on July 4th alone, leaving one suspect dead.
While the soaring violence in Chicago is no new issue, the city has been working to actively combat and reduce gun violence in recent years – especially after one of its bloodiest years in 2012, when Chicago was the only city in the country to record over 500 homicides.

“We will keep building on our strategy, putting more officers on the street in summer months, proactively intervening in gang conflicts, partnering with community leaders,” Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said in a statement.

To bring down the murder rate, police have been dispatched by the hundreds to some of Chicago’s most dangerous neighborhoods. Although this strategy appeared to be working in 2013 when homicides fell to 415, Chicago still had one of the highest murder rates in the country.

The Chicago Tribune updated its tally of shootings in the Windy City to 1,129 so far for this year. But it’s still less than 2013, which saw over 2,000 shootings

8 Year Old Texas Boy Kills 3 Year Old Cousin with Loaded Shotgun

An 8-year-old boy found a loaded 20-gauge shotgun and killed his 3-year-old cousin, who was visiting from Nacogdoches, Monday.

Braison Howard, 3, was killed instantly, neighbors said, at a home in Eureka near Richland Chambers Reservoir. It’s about 15 miles southeast of Corsicana.

Braison had just finished breakfast, his mother told News 8, and went outside to play with his 8-year-old cousin when the adults heard the gun blast.

Just before going out, the 8-year-old had asked to play with a BB gun, but the adults refused to give it to him, the victim’s mother said.

Braison, his two siblings, and his parents drove to Eureka from Nacogdoches last week to visit his father’s relatives. They had planned to return home later Monday.

“By all accounts, this is just a tragic accident,” said Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner.

Investigators are still talking to witnesses and recounting what happened, the sheriff said, so it’s too early to know whether anyone will face charges.

At least three adults were home when the boy was shot.

Oklahoma Police Encounter Causes Man’s Death While Wife Videotapes – Video

This is a sad and unfortunate story, and it is fully representative of the road we are traveling as a society

It was supposed to be a family night out at the movies. A father, a mother and their 19-year-old daughter.

There was an argument between the mother and her daughter that caused the mother to hit her daughter. Someone witnessed the confrontation and called the cops and that’s where all hell broke loose.

The police arrived and went straight to the family. The singled out the father asking him for his identification. What happened next is sketchy, but the police ended up pepper-spraying the husband. At this point the mother started recording the encounter on her cellphone.

We see the man lying on his stomach handcuffed with police officers kneeling on his back. We hear the mother calling out to her husband multiple times asking if he’s okay.

No response.

The man stayed on the ground, still on his stomach, still handcuffed, still surrounded by cops, his wife now frantically calling out his name asking anyone, everyone, if her husband is okay.

No response.

The recording ended when it finally dawned on the mother and the daughter that something terrible had happened. Her husband, her father was dead. Pepper sprayed, faced down on the ground, handcuffed, with multiple officers subduing him.

He was dead.

This nation is quickly becoming a police state. The shoot first ask questions never mentality abounds, and innocent people are dying in the process.

Three officers were suspended with pay for the killing of this innocent man. A daughter is left fatherless and a wife is left with a video that she filmed, showing the killing of her husband.

David Frum Asks: Why Won’t Gun Manufacturers Help Reduce Gun Violence?

David Frum on The Daily Beast made the point that auto makers took the necessary steps to reduce fatalities in the auto industry, and asked why gun manufacturers won’t do the same.

Gun-rights advocates insist that the U.S. faces a choice between the status quo and the repeal of the Second Amendment and mass confiscation of firearms. That is false. Improved gun safety no more requires a gun ban than improved auto safety demanded the outlawing of cars. Gun design could be regulated to enhance safety. Those who wish to own guns could be required to take safety courses and pass a test. Individuals who are found to store their weapons unsafely could forfeit for a time their ownership rights. Persons convicted of drug offenses or drunk driving could be deprived of gun rights in their sentence, as felons now are deprived of the right to vote in many states. The classes of weapons associated with mass casualty shooting could be more strictly controlled.

It’s not all-or-nothing, not all-one-way or all-the-other way: moderate steps could achieve substantial results. The goal is not to reduce the level of gun violence to zero, any more than it is to stop all auto fatalities. The goal is to enhance safety while upholding legitimate rights. It’s been done before. It can be done again.

Jury Selection Begins in The George Zimmerman / Trayvon Martin Case

It is the case that shocked the nation, shocked the world for that matter. And today, the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin trial officially began with jury selection.

Zimmerman, 29, is charged with second-degree murder and faces up to life in prison if convicted. He has pleaded not guilty, contending he acted in self-defense during a confrontation with Martin, 17, in a gated community in this central Florida town on February 26, 2012.

After a brief opening session in the courtroom, where Zimmerman was joined by his wife Shellie, Circuit Court Judge Debra Nelson called a recess so that she, the prosecutors and defense attorneys could meet briefly with a pool of about 100 potential jurors.

The jurors were then to fill out a questionnaire before being summoned one by one into the courtroom for individual questioning.

It is unclear how long it will take for the judge and lawyers to select a panel of six jurors.

At the time of the Martin killing, Zimmerman, a light-skinned Hispanic, was the self-appointed neighborhood watch captain in the Retreat at Twin Lakes community. During a struggle, he killed Martin with a single shot to the chest from a 9mm handgun.
