WASHINGTON (AP) — Michelle Obama turns 50 this week, and she isn’t ruling out future use of plastic surgery or Botox.

Lifetime Ban – “No Food or Hotel Rooms” For Dennis Rodman in New York

Dennis Rodman has made one too many trips to North Korea. He has gotten a little too cozy with the North Korea regime and their ruthless dictator,  and the New York service industry is instituting a lifetime on the former NBA player.

The Old HomeStead SteakHouse is advocating the lifetime ban to all its business, and the organization is asking all other service industries to follow suit.

This, according to their Facebook page.

No food — or hotel rooms — for you. Self-proclaimed ambassador to North Korea Dennis Rodman made a living on the basketball court swatting away shots of opponents. Now an iconic restaurant in New York’s Meatpacking District, one of Rodman’s favorite neighborhoods when he’s here, wants the entire NYC hospitality industry to reject Rodman whenever he blows into the Big Apple.

Old Homestead Steakhouse, the iconic meatery on Ninth Ave., wants all restaurants, hotels and nightclubs to sign a statement pledging they will ban Rodman for life. The pledge will be on Old Homestead’s website this week. Anyone in America can sign to show support for the Rodman ban.

“Let him see what it’s like to starve and to sleep out in the cold – exactly what his dictator pal is doing to millions of people. It’s too late for apologies,” said Old Homestead co-owner Greg Sherry.

This is not the first time the Meat Mecca rejected an NBA player. When Kevin Garnett, at the time a Boston Celtic, disrespected Knicks superstar Carmelo Anthony — saying that his wife, LaLa tasted like Honey Nut Cheerios, Old Homestead banned Garnett, who now plays for the Brooklyn Nets, from the restaurant and even put a special entree on the menu for Melo. (Rodman was tossed from Serafina in The Time Hotel after his first trip from North Korea after mouthing off about how great Kim Jong Un is. Rodman is known to frequent high-profile strip clubs when he stays in New York.)

Poll: New Jersey Voters say Bridge-Gate Hurt Christie’s Chances in 2016

TRENTON — Even after the bridge scandal, New Jersey voters say Gov. Chris Christie is more of a leader than a bully. But about half say Bridgegate damaged his presidential chances, according to a new poll.

The Republican governor earned one of his lowest “bully” scores since Quinnipiac University started asking the question more than three years ago. Voters say Christie is more of a leader than a bully, 54 percent to 40 percent. Democrats feel differently, saying, 56 percent to 37 percent, that he’s more bully than leader.

Democrats have labeled a Christie a bully and say he created a culture that make it OK for his allies to close lanes to the George Washington Bridge, creating an epic traffic jam in Fort Lee in September, to punish the borough’s mayor. The governor has denied any involvement.

Asked if the scandal damages Christie’s chances as a 2016 presidential contender, about 49 percent of voters who are aware of Bridgegate say ‘yes’. Another 7 percent say the scandal ends those White House chances, while 2 percent say it helps them and 38 percent say the scandal will have no impact.

“Christie for President? This scandal hurts his chances, both Democrats and Republicans think,” said Maurice Carroll, director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute. “But – maybe it’s pride in having their governor tops on the list – many New Jerseyans think he’s still up there.”

Quinnipiac surveyed 1,207 voters from Jan. 10 – 13. During a Jan. 9 marathon news conference that fueled national interest in the bridge scandal, Christie said, “I am not a bully.” The poll has a margin of error of 2.8 percentage points.

Report: Almost Half a Million Texans Applied for Healthcare under ObamaCare

But, according to their governor Rick Perry and Canadian born senator Ted Cruz, Texans don’t want healthcare, right?

Wrong!

New numbers on ACA enrollment are out, and nearly half a million Texans have applied for coverage through the federal exchange. The latest numbers from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services show us that:

457,382 total Texans who applied for coverage through completed applications
390,658 Texans have been found eligible to enroll in a marketplace plan
Over 47,000 have been found eligible to enroll in the state’s existing Medicaid or CHIP plans
Ed Espinoza, Executive Director of Progress Texas, released the following statement:

Twelve weeks of ACA has done more to help Texans without health care than Rick Perry has done in twelve years as Governor.

The footage, taken in the famed Kruger National Park, shows the car behind the animal, tentatively nearing to pass at the side of the road.

However the elephant spots the blue Volkswagon and quickly becomes infuriated.

The car attempts to reverse and drive off but its too late to escape.

U.S Congressman Engaged, Will Marry his Same-Sex Partner

“After 21 years together, we are excited for the next step in our journey as a family,” they said in a statement. “For decades, we’ve fought to ensure that all families can experience the joys of loving commitment and we are proud to have our friends and family share this special moment with us in the near future.”

With their marriage, Maloney will become the second member of Congress to legally wed his same-sex partner while in office. Former Rep. Barney Frank, D-Massachusetts, became the first to do so in 2012.

Republican Group Enjoys Idea of Shooting at Cars with California License Plates

Bill Whittle, an apparently influential member of the Republican/Teaparty/Conservative movement and blogger, was invited to address a Republican gathering in Texas. His sick humor was enjoyed by all in attendance especially his suggestion that shooting at people in cars with California plates is fun and a necessity for all true red blooded patriotic Texans.

And get this, the Republican god Ted Cruz and wannabe Texas governor Rick Perry have benefited from Whittle’s advice on previous occasions. He’s told them about his shooting idea before.

“I’ve said this several times in Texas before and I’ve said it to Mr. Cruz as a representative of the Texas government, I’ve said it to Governor (Rick) Perry directly, and now I’m going to say it to you as individual Texas citizens.

“You will see a lot of cars coming from the west heading east on Interstate 10, and they’re going to have California license plates on them. Now, if you see these cars pull into rest areas or hotels or restaurants, that’s fine; wave goodbye, make sure they go out on the Louisiana end.”

“But if you see them pull off into residential areas, you need to open fire on these vehicles immediately. Immediately. Not with 9mm or AR rounds; you need to put mortars on those things, you cannot take any chances.”

“What is the worst that can happen to you? I mean honestly, this is Texas, right?  You’ll stand in front of a Texas judge, he’ll say, ‘did you shoot up that car full of Californians?’  You’ll say, ‘yes,’ he’ll say, ‘why?’ You’ll say, ‘well, your honor, they needed killing, and he’ll say ‘okay, we’ll strike a medal in your honor’ and off you go.”

The Conservative/Republican/Teparty group’s trigger-happy fingers must have twitched with anticipation as the crowed rejoiced at the thought.

Before He Died, Inventor of the AK-47 felt “Morally Responsible” for Gun’s Victims

Republicans are to be blamed as well.

On 23 December, the AK-47 inventor Mikhail Kalashnikov, died at a Russian hospital after being admitted a month earlier with internal bleeding.

In a letter, published in Russia’s pro-Kremlin newspaper Izvestia, he wrote: “My spiritual pain is unbearable.

“I keep having the same unsolved question: if my rifle claimed people’s lives, then can it be that I… a Christian and an Orthodox believer, was to blame for their deaths?” he asked.

“The longer I live,” he continued, “the more this question drills itself into my brain and the more I wonder why the Lord allowed man to have the devilish desires of envy, greed and aggression”.

The letter is typed on Kalashnikov’s personal writing paper, and is signed with a wavering hand by the man who describes himself as “a slave of God, the designer Mikhail Kalashnikov”.

The Kalashnikov, or AK-47, is one of the world’s most familiar and widely used weapons.

Its comparative simplicity made it cheap to manufacture, as well as reliable and easy to maintain.

It is thought that more than 100 million Kalashnikov rifles have been sold worldwide.

Kalashnikov refused to accept responsibility for the many people killed by his weapon, blaming the policies of other countries that acquired it.

However, pride in his invention was tempered with sadness at its use by criminals and child soldiers.

“It is painful for me to see when criminal elements of all kinds fire from my weapon,” Kalashnikov said in 2008.

Jon Stewart Takes on Freedom’s Ability to Contaminate Our Waters – Video

On his show Monday, Jon Stewart took on the toxic chemical spill in West Virginia and the unbelievable lack of security, and the even more unbelievable fact that a toxic chemical plant is located upstream of the drinking water. And if you think that is unbelievable, how about this… the toxic plant located upstream of a river used for human consumption was last inspected in 1991!

Now how unbelievable is that!

Why would you build your toxic chemical storage tanks, upstream… and drinking water adjacent? Although, I imagine, because it was in such a vulnerable position, it was highly regulated, this toxic chemical storage facility. As a matter of fact, from what I understand, these toxic chemical tanks have been inspected as recently as… uh…. 1991.

1991! That’s like six Batmans ago!

And the name of the company responsible for this toxic spill? FREEDOM Industries.

Cursing Nebraska Toddler Must Be Returned to His Mother

The renegade toddler with the mouth of a truck driver – nothing against truck drivers – who gained notoriety last week when he was placed in protective custody after a video surfaced showing him using words most adults won’t use, will be returned to his teenage mother.

An Omaha juvenile court judge made the ruling on Monday.

The video shows the diapered child being harassed by other adults in the home, causing him to use the curse words and a at some point, giving the adults the middle finger.

“He’s a smart little boy,” his seventeen year old mother later said in an interview. “All that cussing that he did, he doesn’t do that. Somebody told him to do that. My son doesn’t do that. I don’t allow it.”

“He was wrong for doing that … posting the video up and getting us into this situation,” she said. “Everybody that thinks I’m a bad mother, I’m not. I’m a good mother to my son. I teach him a lot. He’s very smart.”

The mither also said a friend of her brother filmed the video while she was in another room.

The judge ordered the child be returned to his mother, and for them to be placed in a foster home together.
