Mr. Morgan was seen exiting his home in Cresskill, N.J., walking with the aid of a walker. As he entered a black Lincoln Navigator, Morgan made eye contact with photographers and showed a victory symbol with his trademark smile. As the car drove closer to the photographers, Tracy was asked how was he doing.
“I’m OK, I feel strong,” he said.
“Love you, thank you very much. Appreciate it,” he added, to applause from the small gathering.
Morgan’s friend, James McNair was killed in the accident when a Wal-Mart truck slammed into the vehicle they were traveling in. Morgan suffered a badly broken leg and several broken ribs.
Tracy Morgan has filed a lawsuit against Wal-Mart.
A Phoenix man is suing a Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputy after he says the deputy collided with his truck and then handcuffed the plaintiff when he tried to write down the deputy’s license-plate number.
Detective Steve Chervenak’s denies the allegations of assault, false imprisonment and civil-rights violations, and instead claims the driver was combative, forcing Chervenak to detain him for safety concerns. The case is making its way through federal court.
Thomas Kasper said he was driving northbound on Seventh Street approaching Adams Street on May 1, 2013, when construction barricades funneled traffic into one lane.
Kasper says an unmarked Chevrolet Blazer — later determined to be driven by Chervenak — attempted to cut in the merging line but no cars were allowing him to do so.
Kasper followed the lead of the cars in front of him, but said Chervenak made his move anyway and hit the rear of Kasper’s truck.
Kasper got out to exchange information and write down the Blazer’s license-plate number, but was met with an angry, plainclothes detective, the suit says. It says Chervenak began yelling at Kasper and ordered him back to his vehicle.
Chervenak claimed to be a deputy but produced no badge, the lawsuit says.
“I said, ‘How do I know that?’ And he didn’t say anything,” Kasper said in an interview.
When Kasper failed to comply with his demands, Chervenak retrieved a pair of handcuffs, pushed Kasper against the vehicle and clamped the cuffs over his wrists, the suit says.
Kasper, still uncertain if he was being detained by a real deputy, said he started yelling at passers-by to call 911 and get uniformed officers on the scene.
“It was kind of surreal that I would have to do that,” he said. “I was angry, but I had to stay calm, because if I did anything, it was just going to get worse.”
Phoenix police officers arrived, Kasper said, as well as uniformed deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office. Kasper said he remained in handcuffs for about an hour until another Sheriff’s Office deputy arrived with a key.
Renisha McBride, 19, was shot to death in a Dearborn Heights, Michigan neighborhood after seeking help following a car crash, reports The Detroit News.
At approximately 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning, McBride knocked on the door of a home, hoping for assistance. Instead, she got a gunshot wound to the head.
“He shot her in the head … for what? For knocking on his door,” said McBride’s maternal aunt, Bernita Spinks. “If he felt scared or threatened, he should have called 911.”
“You see a young black lady on your porch and you shoot?” asked Spinks. “He killed my niece and he needs to pay for it. He needs to be in jail.
“There was no windows broken. My niece didn’t bother anyone,” said Spinks. “She went looking for help and now she’s dead.”
The Dearborn Police Department have confirmed the shooting, but have not released the name of the suspect. They initially told McBride’s family that her body was “dumped,” but have now admitted that she died on the man’s porch, reports FOX 32.
The investigation is ongoing and findings will be forwarded to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office for review.

George Michael, 49, is being treated for ‘minor cuts and bruises’ sustained from a car accident inside a Range Rover on a motorway outside of London Thursday night.
A publicist for George Michael stated,
George Michael was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a traffic accident yesterday evening. No third party was involved. We have no further comment at this time
It is still unclear whether George Michael himself or the driver of the vehicle in question was airlifted from the scene and taken to a hospital for further treatment.
An ambulance rep gave the following:
The man who we believe to be in his 40s sustained a head injury and following treatment, stabilization and immobilization by land and air ambulance crews, he was flown to hospital for further care.
The “Faith” singer has been involved in a few accidents in the past where he spent time in jail, and even had a major health scare where he lost consciousness from a deathly bout of pneumonia in 2011.
Thankfully, this time his accident was nothing too serious and he was the passenger and not a driver under the influence again.
And well, since this article is about George Michael (one of my favorite singers of all-time), it gives me the perfect excuse to play one of his tunes.
So, here is some classic “Careless Whisper” for your listening pleasure…
