Oregon School Bomb Plot Suspect Called ‘Nice Kid’ by Classmates

An Oregon high school student has been accused of plotting a school bomb attack “specifically modeled” after the Columbine shooting, prosecutors said today. (ABC News)

Students at an Oregon high school were in shock today, after learning that a classmate they described as “happy” and “nice” is accused of plotting to blow them up with bombs he’d allegedly built and hid in his bedroom.

Grant Acord, 17, a junior at West Albany High School, was arrested late Thursday at his home on two counts of possession of a destructive device and two counts of manufacture of a destructive device, according to the Albany Police Department.

But prosecutors say he will be charged as an adult with aggravated murder and is expected to be arraigned Tuesday in Benton County Circuit Court.

Possible Pictures Of Bag Containing Bomb And Suspect Running From Scene

The two sets of pictures below were obtained by Fox 5 Atlanta. The first set of pictures, a ‘before’ pic shows a bag placed by the barricades next to a mailbox. In the ‘after’ picture, the bag is gone.

The next set of pictures show a man running away from the area where the bag was placed. Although it is possible that he was scared because of what had just occurred, it is a bit strange that while everyone around him seemed shocked, covering their ears and bending down, this man is seen running away in the opposite direction.

Anderson Cooper’s Close Call – Bomb Explodes In His Vicinity – Video

Anderson Cooper had a close call on the Gaza front line when a rocket exploded just a few blocks from where he was reporting live.

The CNN anchor was speaking to the camera in the midst of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on Sunday night when a rocket exploded close to where he was standing, causing the veteran journalist to duck for cover.

He was discussing the death toll – which includes ten members of the same family – on the Gaza trip as Israel continues to hit Hamas strongholds. So far, 96 Palestinians and three Israelis have died since the conflict began last Wednesday.
