I Never Thought I’d Want To High-Five A Teacher For Yelling At A Student, But I Was Wrong

Jane Elliot is a teacher and diversity trainer who developed the “Blue Eyes/Brown Eyes” exercise to teach students what it feels like to be a person of color. This video begins pretty abruptly, where one of the students who’s been singled out based on eye color is extremely frustrated.

At 2:46, Elliot explains why she keeps going even after she’s made the point. At 3:35, she delivers an important message.

A partial transcript from a very powerful portion of the video, beginning at 3:19:

After allegedly being stripped, beaten and bit by 7-Eleven employees last year, accused candy-thief David Golson is finally having his day in court.

The 30-year-old Bronx man is suing 7-Eleven, claiming “emotional distress,” according to documents he filed in the Bronx Supreme Court on October 29. A video of his Golson’s brutal beat-down went viral last year and Golson claims the internet frenzy has exacerbated his mental stress and well-being.

The video shows Golson repeatedly attempting to tell the attackers he’s innocent. “I don’t have nothing!” he pleads as the attackers strip of him of clothes. Several days after the incident, Golson was charged with robbery, assault, criminal mischief and criminal possession of stolen property, according to the New York Daily News.

Store Surveillance Camera Catches 4 Teens Leaving Money In Unlocked Store (VIDEO)

The owner got the dreaded call from his security company that someone had broken into his store. No one was there and the store was supposedly closed and locked. But because of a failure in the security system, the door remained unlocked with the lights on and the four teenagers just walked in.

After walking around the store calling out for the store clerk and finding none, the four teens walked to the unattended counter and left payment for the items they were shopping for.

Imagine the surprise when the store owner got to the store and found everything intact, and a completed sale. Just goes to show you that not all black teens are criminals. Unlike the thinking of some these days.

John Henry Spooner Shooting VIDEO: Evidence Shows Darius Simmons Killed (GRAPHIC)

A video entered as evidence in the murder trial of John Henry Spooner on Tuesday appears to show the 76-year-old shooting his 13-year-old neighbor Darius Simmons dead.

The Milwaukee senior is charged with first-degree homicide after the alleged incident in May last year. Jurors saw the video (below), taken from Spooner’s own surveillance camera, that shows the suspect walk out of his house, brandishing a gun. After a short argument, the man in the video waves the gun around before he shoots Simmons in the chest. Simmons manages to flee outside the scope of the camera before dying.

The evidence was recorded in court Tuesday and provided to HuffPost Crime by the Journal-Sentinel.

WARNING: The video below is extremely graphic and shows a teen shot in the chest.

Simmons’ mother, Patricia Larry, testified in court that Spooner accused her son of burglarizing his home, stealing several weapons. She said Spooner told Simmons he’d teach him a lesson before firing the fatal shot.

Kids React Adorably To Cheerios Ad That Sparked Racist Backlash (VIDEO)

HMMM …Maybe these Kids should have been on the Zimmerman Jury….

It appears a bunch of kids are more mature than some YouTube commentators. When a Cheerios commercial featuring a biracial couple launched two months ago, it was met with so much racist backlash that YouTube had to pull the comments section. But ask a group of 7 to 13-year-olds what they think of the ad, and you’ll find no hints of racism or surprise at seeing an interracial family on screen. Instead, their responses range from “it’s just a Cheerios commercial” to laughter.
