Three men in Georgia are facing a number of charges after a 36-year-old woman survived a brutal attack from the group that involved rape, burning and a shooting. The woman was found in a vacant lot on New Year’s Day (January 1) and has since undergone hours of treatment for her injuries.
Police in the town of Columbus, some 100 miles southwest of Atlanta, say that the men, Joey Betrail Garron, 28, Robert Carl Johnson, 23, and Ketorie Glover, 23, all hailing from the town, came to approach their victim in a bizarre fashion. According to the investigation, the victim was at a New Year’s Eve party where she was part of a rap battle with a group of men outside the home that got heated. The Ledger-Enquirer has more.

Subsequent investigation discovered that the victim, 36, had been to a party at a house located on Garden Drive. There, outside the house, she became engaged in a spirited rap contest with some men. At some point, the exchange became heated and one of the men produced a handgun and forced the victim inside of her vehicle.
Two other men, one of whom was also armed, joined them in the car. The woman was driven to a vacant lot located at 988 Farr Rd. At that location, police say, all three men sexually assaulted her.
The woman’s vehicle and the woman were doused with gasoline and set on fire. She was also shot several times.
Police Lt. John McMichael said in a news release Sunday (February 16) morning that the men face felony charges of aggravated assault, rape, kidnapping, aggravated battery, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, arson first degree, hijacking a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
A police sergeant would not elaborate on how they came to identify and arrest the men, but did say there is more investigating to be done in the case. The cops didn’t confirm if the rap battle was connected to the assault of the victim.
Garron and Johnson have already appeared in Columbus Recorder’s Court and their cases were sent to the state’s Superior Court. Glover appeared in court yesterday (February 17) morning.

“It’s about allowing our fans who have been looking and trying to get a hold of our music to have access to it,” Posdnuos explained to Rolling Stone, noting that the myriad number of samples on their albums have prevented them from being able to release their albums on most digital services (including iTunes and Spotify). “It’s been too long where our fans haven’t had access to everything. This is our way of showing them how much we love them.”
Besides being Valentine’s Day, today marks the 25th anniversary of their landmark debut album 3 Feet High and Rising. The music will be available for download from 11 a.m. Eastern time Friday until noon on Saturday. Keep in mind that some people had trouble downloading this morning (it seems Dropbox-related), but it should hopefully be back up soon.
The band are also planning on releasing their first new album in a decade, You’re Welcome, in the coming months. “We’re just getting in the mode of constantly giving people new music,” Posdnuos added. “With us, we’ve sat a long time without releasing an album. It’s high time we start releasing a bunch of stuff because it’s there.”

Thanks to people like George Bush, Rick Perry and others like Ted Cruz and those Texans who are willing to forgo their own health care for dumb Republican politics, I always thought Texans were not that smart. A sportscaster from Texas has defied my way of thinking, causing me to take a second look at the intellect of the state. And although the Ted Cruzes are still there, I am changing my way of thinling. His name is Dale Hansen and his commentary on the Michael Sam story is what did it for me.
Michael Sam came out a few days ago telling the world that he was gay. Sam, a college football star is now looking to be picked up by the NFL but since making his announcement, the college superior player is getting blowback from some in the league.

Sam Rubin won’t be picking a fight with Nick Fury anytime soon. The seasoned entertainment reporter for KTLA caused actor Samuel L. Jackson to fly into a rage on Monday, Feb. 10 when he confused him with Matrix star Laurence Fishburne.
“Working for Marvel, the Super Bowl commercial, did you get a lot of reaction to that Super Bowl commercial?” Rubin asked Jackson.
“What Super Bowl commercial?” Jackson replied.
After a moment of awkward silence, Rubin realized his mistake before Jackson erupted, “See, you’re as crazy as the people on Twitter. I’m not Laurence Fishburne! We don’t all look alike! We may be all black and famous, but we don’t look alike.”
Fishburne appeared in a buzzed-about Kia ad where he reprised his iconic role as Morpheus from The Matrix. And Jackson was immediately upset by the mix up.

“You’re the entertainment reporter?! And you don’t know the difference between me and Laurence Fishburne? There must be a very short line for your job,” he continued as Rubin attempted to turn the conversation back to Jackson’s RoboCop remake. “I’m the ‘What’s in your wallet’ black guy. And I’ve actually never done a McDonalds or a Kentucky Fried Chicken commercial. I know that’s surprising.”

Rubin tried to laugh off what he called the “well-deserved spanking,” but later acknowledged, “That is a tape now that I believe is going to have a life all of its own.”
The longtime reporter issued an official apology via KTLA, but it’s unclear as to whether Rubin is actually owning up to his faux pas.
“I indicated to Samuel that I’d seen him during the Super Bowl, and he thought that I had confused him with the commercial Laurence Fishburne had done for a car company,” Rubin said. “Of course a Captain America ad had also run during the Super Bowl, but I immediately felt so dumb, I didn’t bring that up — and he gave me the shellacking that was well deserved.”

The Sacramento Police officer tackled suspect Michael Kennedy, 19, as he fled a street in California, US.
Police say the teenager was involved in an incident on a train before he ran away, with officers setting up a perimeter in the area.
After an hour, Kennedy emerged from a garage on a bicycle before he was stopped in his tracks.
He was arrested on suspicion of fleeing from police and felony assault on an officer.
Mario Balotelli, 23, Italian professional soccer player for AC Milan, shed tears on the bench after racist taunts were repeatedly hurled at him, reports Bleacher Report.
Since Balotelli’s reaction was captured on video and spread like wildfire on social media, his coach and teammates have tried to downplay the incident, insisting that racism was not a factor.
“What can I say about Balotelli’s tears? They were the tears of a sportsman,” said CoachClarence Seedorf in a press conference following the game.
Seedorf insisted that Balotelli’s tears are “human.”
“These are things that happen many times in football and sport in general,” said Seedorf in an interview with Mediaset Premium. “I’d say it was actually beautiful, but I’d prefer to talk about the game.”
“We are players,” he said to Sky Sports Italia, “and there are times when we express ourselves that way. I see nothing wrong or abnormal in that. I experienced it at times too.”
According to Sporting News, Balotelli has been the victim of racist taunts for years:
Last May, Roma fans taunted him, reportedly calling him a “monkey.”
The situation escalated to such a point that the referee had to stop the match and warn fans to shut up over the stadium’s intercom system.
Afterward, The Guardian exposed the on-going and blatant racism that’s often directed at Balotelli, saying it’s deeply-rooted in Italian culture and politics.
It has been going on for years.
But still, Serie A has not yet found a feasible solution to quelling fans’ disturbing treatment of Balotelli, and the fines the league has tried to issue as a penalty have not done enough to deter certain fanbases.

Balotelli’s teammates insist that the tears were not due to racism, rather he was just disappointed about being benched.
“Mario really cares about doing well with Milan and making his mark. He is sentimental. It’s a shame that he got so downhearted about it, as he needs to keep his head up,” said Ignazio Abate.
Or could it simply be that several years of being called a “monkey” and a “nig***” have taken their toll on Balotelli?
The soccer player has yet to issue a statement.

A California woman — who says she was sexually abused for years by her basketball coach — confronts her alleged attacker in a damning YouTube video that quickly led to the educator’s resignation.
“Everything was stolen from me,” Jaime Carrillo, now a mother of two, told KTLA5 as she choked back tears. “I want her to be in jail and to pay for what she’s done.”
Carrillo, 28, has come forward to expose a relationship Andrea Cardosa allegedly started when the girl was just 12 — and stretched throughout her teenage years, according to reports.
Carrillo recorded her phone confrontation with Cardosa — who had since risen to the ranks of assistant principal at Alhambra High School — in a video that was sent to school officials.
Cardosa resigned from her post Friday — the same day the video was posted — and has gone into relative hiding since she was exposed online.
Alhambra High School said in a statement obtained by The News that her resignation came after officials saw the YouTube video and confronted her about its disturbing allegations on January 17.
“At the conclusion of that interview the Alhambra High School administrator tendered her resignation,” the school said. “Alhambra Police department will be handing this matter over to the jurisdiction of the appropriate police Department.”
