For the entirety of his presidential campaign, Trump has promised his supporters that “Mexico will pay for a wall” along the southern border. In a recent campaign event however, Trump seems to suggest that Americans would be responsible for the full cost of the wall and that hopefully, at some point down the road, Mexico will crouch down in fear of the donald and reimburse the $25 billion price-tag for Trump’s 50 ft wall.
Donald Trump today indicated, maybe for the first time, that the United States would pay for the border wall with the understanding that Mexico will “reimburse” us for it.
When he mentioned he would set up something that “fully funds” the wall’s construction today, Trump told the crowd, “Don’t worry about it. Remember, I said Mexico’s paying for the wall.”
He added, “With the full understanding that the country of Mexico will be reimbursing the United States for the full cost of such a wall.”
This politician has branded himself as an outsider, but he is playing politics at a master’s level on his unsuspecting base, and his base is too dense to see it.
It’s a week-long festival in Mexico to celebrate Easter and part of that festival is the ‘Burning of Judas,’ where effigies of the man who betrayed Jesus are burned in the street. But this year, residents in Mexico are using effigies in the image and likeness of Republican front-runner, Donald Trump to represent Judas!
In addition to blocking all Muslims from entering the United States, his apparent disrespect for women and the overt racial tone that has become a staple of his campaign, building a wall and demanding that Mexico pay for it has become the foundation of Trump’s rise among the Republican base.
So naturally, the so-called “real reporters” collectively avoid this border wall issue and concentrate instead on filling their headlines with sensational stories and gossip. And the satirical entertainers like John Oliver do the real reporting.
“The border wall is one of the few policy proposals Trump has talked about in detail, so instead of mocking or dismissing it out of hand, tonight let’s take a serious proposal by a serious presidential candidate seriously,” announced Oliver.
Trump initially said the border wall would cost $4 billion—though that estimate has grown to $12 billion—would be made of “hardened concrete,” “rebar,” and steel,” and would be anywhere from 35 to 55 feet in height. But according to Oliver, $12 billion doesn’t even come close to what this monstrosity would cost. If we work with the lowest estimated height, 35 feet, and The Donald’s suggested length, 1,000 miles, experts say it would run $10 billion for the concrete panels, $5 billion to $6 billion for the steel columns plus labor, $1 billion for concrete footing for the columns and a concrete foundation, $2 billion to build roads so 20-ton trucks can deliver the materials, and an additional 30 percent for engineering, design, and management. So that’s $25 billion already, and that’s justbuilding the wall.
According to the Sierra Club, “The Congressional Budget Office estimates that wall maintenance costs will exceed the initial construction costs within seven years…” so, sayeth Oliver, “it’s a big, dumb thing that only gets more expensive over time. It’s like getting a pet walrus: You think it’s stupid now, wait until you learn what a bucket of sea cucumbers costs. You’ve not prepared for that!”
As for Trump’s theory that Mexico will pay for the wall—which he’s repeated ad nauseam—well, that’s probably not going to happen, either. The current treasury secretary of Mexico told The Guardian that “Mexico, under no circumstance, is going to pay for the wall that Mr. Trump is proposing,” while two former Mexican presidents said the country wouldn’t pay a cent for, in the words of Vicente Fox, “that fucking wall.”
Fox’s Eric Bolling was the only one on set trying to defend the donold. But of course that’s expected as Eric Bolling works for Fox News. The rest of the set however saw Trump for who he is, “a fool and a fraud” as said by Jonathan Hoenig, one of the panelist on the set. While hammering Trump, Jonathan also pointed out that Trump cannot talks a lot about negotiating with other countries, namely Mexico, to which Jonathan said, “negotiate with Mexico? He can’t even negotiate with Macy’s!”
What would possess Miley Cyrus to go onstage and wipe her ass with the Mexican flag is way beyond my understanding. Maybe the texture made her feel a certain way, who knows? Who cares? The 27 year old man from Mexico apparently thought dying was better than living in his homeland.
A U.S. Border Patrol agent near 1st Street saw the man scaling the fence with a rope on the Mexico side about 7 p.m. As the agent approached, the man wrapped the rope around his neck, hanging himself on the U.S. side of the fence, Border Patrol Agent Eduardo Jacobo said.
The agent grabbed the man by his legs, elevating him to release the pressure around his neck, until another agent arrived to help, a Border Patrol news release said. At some point, the rope came loose and the agents lowered the man to the ground.
The man wasn’t breathing and was unresponsive, the release said. An agent was able to revive him.
The man, identified only as a citizen of Mexico, was taken by ambulance to Calexico Regional Medical Center for evaluation.

The 61 banned names include technology-inspired monikers like Twitter and Yahoo, fictional characters Harry Potter, James Bond and Rambo and surgical terms like Circumcision.
Children will also be spared being dubbed Virgin, Hitler, Email, Burger King, Christmas Day, Robocop and Rolling Stone.

MEXICO CITY — Two waiters at a Mexico City bar will face homicide and robbery charges in the beating death of Malcolm X’s grandson Malcolm Shabazz, authorities said Monday.
Prosecutors said police were seeking at least two other people believed to have participated in the attack on Shabazz, who was beaten early Thursday in a dispute over a $1,200 bar bill.
Prosecutor Rodolfo Fernando Rios said bar employees David Hernandez Cruz and Manuel Alejandro Perez de Jesus would be charged with aggravated robbery and homicide.
Rios said there was no indication of a racial motivation in the attack on Shabazz, 28, who was assaulted after he drank with a friend at the Palace bar on Garibaldi Plaza, a downtown square famous for open-air performances by strolling mariachi musicians.
Miguel Suarez, a friend of Shabazz, told The Associated Press last week that the fight broke out after the owner of the bar demanded that the two men pay 15,000 pesos for the time they spent drinking at the bar. He said he found Shabazz outside the bar and took him to a hospital where he died.
A nine-year-old girl who gave birth to a baby in Mexico didn’t realize she was pregnant until seven months into the pregnancy, it was revealed today.
The baby girl was born on January 27 in Zoquipan Hospital, in Zapopan, Mexico’s western Jalisco state. It weighed 5.95lbs.
The mother of the girl, identified only as Dafne told local officials: ‘The girl was just over eight when she got pregnant. The father is a boy who is 17, but we have not found him, since he ran away.’
It was also revealed today that the mother of the young girl – who can’t read or write – didn’t even think that her daughter could be a victim of sexual abuse at the hands of her 17-year-old boyfriend until they turned up at the hospital.
