Donald Trump Attacks China with Misspelled Tweet

The Republicans’ choice for president made an unprecedented attack on Twitter today when it was revealed that China captured an unmanned underwater U.S drone in retaliation for some of the dumb things Donald Trump have said.

And right on cue, Donald Trump reminded everyone just how dumb he is when he took to twitter to say the move by China was an “unpresidented act.” The tweet was ultimately removed and replaced, but the damage was already done.

“China steals United States Navy research drone in international waters – rips it out of water and takes it to China in unpresidented act.

Why was this man elected the next leader of the free world is the sickest joke ever played on the American people. You can say his election is truly unpresidented.

U.S Officials – Putin Personally Involved in U.S Election Hacking – Video

U.S. intelligence officials now believe with “a high level of confidence” that Russian President Vladimir Putin became personally involved in the covert Russian campaign to interfere in the U.S. presidential election, senior U.S. intelligence officials told NBC News.

Two senior officials with direct access to the information say new intelligence shows that Putin personally directed how hacked material from Democrats was leaked and otherwise used. The intelligence came from diplomatic sources and spies working for U.S. allies, the officials said.

Putin’s objectives were multifaceted, a high-level intelligence source told NBC News. What began as a “vendetta” against Hillary Clinton morphed into an effort to show corruption in American politics and to “split off key American allies by creating the image that [other countries] couldn’t depend on the U.S. to be a credible global leader anymore,” the official said.

Obama on Trump – He’s “Flying Blind” by Not Accepting Daily Intelligence Briefings – Video

President Obama met with Trevor Noah from The Daily Show and spoke about the recent news that Donald Trump is refusing daily intelligence briefings. According to the president, any president-elect who refuses daily intelligence briefings is “flying blind.

“I think the president-elect may say one thing and do another once he’s here because the truth of the matter is, it’s a big, complicated world,” he said. “It doesn’t matter how smart you are, you have to have the best information possible to make the best decisions possible … and if you’re not getting [the intel community’s] perspective, their detailed perspective, then you are flying blind.”

The Military-Government Complex

Just in case you thought you’d get an early political holiday present in the form of Donald Trump actually being more moderate than his campaign promises, it’s time to start planning for that wrapped lump of coal to show up via Amazon drone. Which might be good news for the coal miners and executives waiting for a rebound (not going to happen), but is terrible for the majority of the country that voted for a science-based, constitution-respecting, human rights-defending, livable wage-proposing administration that will now be delayed for at least four years, much to the shame and detriment of the United States.

No, what we are seeing is the flowering of an idea that I suspect most Americans have forgotten about after cramming it for their high school history final exam questions and assuming it was nothing they needed to remember. That’s right, folks, I’m talking about good old Dwight Eisenhower’s warning about the emergence and power of the Military-Industrial Complex. And Ike didn’t just warn us about how the complex would corrupt democracy. He also presciently said that we can’t continue to take our natural resources for granted:

Another factor in maintaining balance involves the element of time. As we peer into society’s future, we — you and I, and our government — must avoid the impulse to live only for today, plundering, for our own ease and convenience, the precious resources of tomorrow. We cannot mortgage the material assets of our grandchildren without risking the loss also of their political and spiritual heritage. We want democracy to survive for all generations to come, not to become the insolvent phantom of tomorrow.

Eisenhower is a terrific role model for us today because he was a military man who understood the danger of too much military influence in what is supposed to be a civilian-run government. He respected that the constitution gave him the power to be commander-in-chief, but that power must be wielded responsibly, pragmatically, and in conjunction with the people. Ike used it well, especially when you consider that the 1950s saw a significant increase in the number and power of nuclear weapons, the Suez Crisis, attempted uprisings in Hungary and Poland, and attacks on our ally Israel.

This is why Trump’s infatuation with the military, and the fact that he’s appointed generals to a significant number of cabinet and government posts, is so disturbing. He is using his power to surround himself with other people who see power differently than civilians with no military experience. And he seems to continue to believe that the military has the answers to many of our policy questions.

As for the industrial part of the equation, nominating a Labor Secretary who’s against a livable minimum wage, an Education Secretary who bashes public schools, a true know-nothing for Housing, an anti-science guy at the EPA, and what looks like the mother of all oil executives as Secretary of State proves pretty conclusively that this is going to be a government-by-testosterone with little to no moderating influences from what’s left of the sensible Republican Party. Trump is going to rule by the Only I Can Fix It credo he ran on, and it looks like he’s going to keep his hands in his business dealings despite all of the evidence that suggests that decision will be his ultimate undoing.

What’s even more disturbing is the news that the president-elect is not electing to attend the daily intelligence briefings that are vital in this time in our history. And if anyone needed more intelligence, it’s Donald Trump. This weekend he is bashing the professionals who are saying that the Russians were far more involved in the election that previously reported and he’s also questioning whether the Russians or “some guy in New Jersey (not me)” is responsible for the hacking.

These are the tidbits that let you know that Trump thinks that nothing is possible because anything is possible. He’s not anti-intellectual, he’s un-intellectual. It’s hubris, and we all know how that ends.

Obama Orders a “Full Review” Of Russia’s Hacking of US Presidential Election

The Hill is reporting that President Barack Obama has ordered a “full review” before he leaves office of the cyberattacks that plagued this year’s presidential election, a top White House official said Friday.

The announcement by Lisa Monaco, Obama’s counterterrorism and homeland security adviser, follows repeated demands from congressional Democrats for more information about the digital assault that the Obama administration has blamed on Russia.

“We may be crossed into a new threshold and it is incumbent upon us to take stock of that, to review, to conduct some after-action, to understand what this means, what has happened and to impart those lessons learned,” Monaco told reporters at a breakfast arranged by the Christian Science Monitor.

Monaco would not commit to making the findings of the review public, but did say that it would be shared with “a range of stakeholders,” including members of Congress.

“That’s going to be first and foremost a determination that’s made by the intelligence community,” she said. “We want to do so very attentive to not disclosing sources and methods that may impede our ability to identify and attribute malicious actors in the future.”

Trump Accepts Only One Presidential Intelligence Briefing a Week

Any other president-elect allowing just one presidential briefing a week would see an uprise from both Democrats and Republicans alike. There are a lot of evil in this world, and America is in the crosshairs of those trying to do us harm. Always knowing what the challenges are is a smart way to stay prepared.

But for whatever reason, Trump’s need to remain ignorant to what’s going on in the rest of the world does not alarm Washington politicians like it should.

President-elect Donald Trump is receiving an average of one presidential intelligence briefing a week, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter, far fewer than most of his recent predecessors.

Although they are not required to, presidents-elect have in the past generally welcomed the opportunity to receive the President’s Daily Brief (PDB), the most highly classified and closely held document in the government, on a regular basis.

It was not immediately clear why Trump has decided not to receive the intelligence briefings available to President Barack Obama more frequently, or whether that has made any difference in his presidential preparations.

Donald Trump Remains Executive Producer on “Celebrity Apprentice” – Still on NBC’s Payroll

This is a true WTF moment!

Well, what do you expect from the reality television star now called president-elect? Variety has received confirmation that Donald Trump will continue getting paid for the reality television show on NBC. He will remain an exec producer on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” which is returning Jan. 2 after a two-year hiatus with new host Arnold Schwarzenegger.

MGM confirmed to Variety that Trump has retained his EP credit on the series. The president-elect’s status on the 15th season of the reality series that made him a household name has been a question since Trump launched his presidential campaign in June 2015. In the credit sequence, Trump’s name will air after that of “Apprentice” creator Mark Burnett and before Schwarzenegger, who is also an exec producer of the new incarnation along with Page Feldman and Eric Van Wagenen.

The larger issue for MGM, NBC, and the White House is the payment that Trump will receive for the series. It’s unclear what his per-episode fee is, but it is likely to be in the low five-figures, at minimum. NBC has ordered eight episodes of “The New Celebrity Apprentice.” Trump’s fees will be paid through MGM, the production entity on the show, not NBC. MGM declined to comment on the financial terms of Trump’s deal. A spokeswoman for Trump did not immediately respond to a request for comment. NBC declined to comment.

Florida Lawsuit Claims Trump Stole $6 Million From Club Members

Just another lawsuit against a president-elect who apparently has a lot of crooked tendencies.

U.S. District Court Judge Kenneth Marra on Wednesday refused yet another request by Donald Trump to toss a 2013 lawsuit filed against his Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter.

The Dec. 7 order means the case continues against Donald Trump’s country club, even though Trump is set to be sworn in as the 45th president of the United States in January.

Club members say Trump hasn’t returned an estimated $6 million to members of his country club off Donald Ross Road. Trump bought the club from the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa for $5 million in 2012.

When the Ritz owned it, deposits ranging from $35,000 to $210,000 were refundable. But once Trump bought the club, some club members say Trump changed the rules and refused to return their deposits.

Donald Trump Attacks Corporate Profit – I Don’t Want Boeing Making “that much money”

Let’s just say for argument sake that a Democratic president-elect had said this very same thing about any American corporation, or any corporation for that matter. Do you think congressional Republicans would allow that president-elect to be sworn in as president?

But Trump set a new low and Republicans are happy to descend to that level even if it means attacking one of their sacred gods – Corporate Profits.

Tuesday morning came another tweet from Donald Trump apparently announcing the cancellation of an updated Air Force One. Trump tweeted that “Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!”

A reporter asked if he was saying that he cancelled the Boeing order, Trump responded;

“Well, the plane is totally out of control. It’s going to be over $4 billion. It’s for Air Force One program, and I think it’s ridiculous. I think Boeing is doing a little bit of a number. We want Boeing to make a lot of money, but not that much money.”

Any elected Democrat making this statement would be run out of the country.

Trump Adviser on China – “… if China Doesn’t Like it, Screw ‘Em” – Audio

He’s not even president yet and already, Donald Trump and his people are already casting a negative view of America to the world. When Trump broke a 40 year presidential custom and took a call from Taiwan’s leader, an angry China expressed its concern to Trump and his people. Trump’s people’s response to China? “Screw ’em.”

Stephen Moore, an economic adviser to Donald Trump, defended the President-elect’s recent call with the president of Taiwan, saying in a local radio interview that he didn’t care if it upset China.

“Taiwan is our ally,” Moore said in a radio interview Monday on the Big John and Ray Show on WLS AM890. “That is a country that we have backed because they believe in freedom. We oughta back our ally, and if China doesn’t like it, screw ’em.”

Beijing views Taiwan as a renegade province and it has been the official position of the United States since 1979 that the government in Beijing is the sole government of China. Trump’s phone call Friday with President Tsai Ing-wen of Taiwan led to criticism from the American foreign policy establishment. Beijing lodged a complaint with the State Department.

Paul Ryan – Voter Fraud “Doesn’t matter to me” Because Trump Won

If Trump had lost the election like all the polls said he would, Paul Ryan and the Republicans would still be marching in the streets calling for recounts due to voter-fraud. But thanks to Russia’s influence in our election, Trump won, and according to Paul Ryan, no one should care about voter fraud and their needs to be no call for recount.

Scott Pelley on CBS’ 60 Minutes interviewed House Speaker Paul Ryan and asked about Trump’s claim that because of millions of illegal votes for Hillary Clinton, he did not win the popular vote. Pelley wanted to know Paul’s thoughts about Trump’s unsubstantiated claim.

Rand Paul couldn’t care less.

“It doesn’t matter to me. He won the election,” Ryan said. He went on to state that if Trump lives up to his promises and fix the issues he said he would, people will no longer care about what he might have tweeted in the past.
