High school ‘Thriller’! Teen totally nails Michael Jackson’s moves at talent show

Michael Jackson has been gone since 2009, but his legacy lives on as a hologram at the Billboard Music Awards, in a posthumous hit album … and in a spot-on rendition by a young man during a talent show — theYouTube video of which racked up nearly 2 million views in a single day.

Brett Nichols, a 17-year-old junior, stole the show at Pitman High School’s talent show last week in Turlock, Calif. To the tune of “Billie Jean,” Jackson’s 1983 No. 1 hit, Nichols mimics the smooth dance shuffle and leg bends the King of Pop made famous. He even moonwalks — a step that generates cries of delight from the audience, just as it did when Jackson first did it on the “Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever” NBC special in 1983.

Nichols told News10 that old Jackson YouTube videos got him hooked, and led to the natural next step: “This is something that really inspires me, and then it was later I thought, ‘Why isn’t this something I can’t do?'”

His segment starts around 1:11 in the video — don’t miss it!

Mass gay Marriage at Grammys Enraged Conservatives – Mass Shootings, Not So Much

The Grammys last night broke a rule. No, not the joining of rapper Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragons as they did something never done before – perform a rap song in the form of heavy metal, or is it performing heavy metal in the form of a rap song. Whatever it was, it was amazing, and it was a first according to host LL Cool J.

See it again below. I promise to get into the conservative outrage after the video.

Wow. That was freaking amazing!

But so was the second rule that the Grammys broke last night, and the ourtrage today by the conservatives shows just how big a deal this rule was. Apparently, there was a rule that said never marry gays at the Grammys. That rule is no more as Queen Latifah presided over the joining together of 34 couples. And conservatives are flipping out!

The headline at The Drudge Report this morning spoke of “THE GAYMMYS,” and Twitter was overrun with people discussing the ceremony officiated by Queen Latifah during Macklemore’s performance of the same-sex marriage anthem “Same Love.”

At the conservative site Free Republic, a commenter who confessed to “see[ing] gays at the store” complained about how “[t]hey take every venue, every event, and have to gay it.” Another prayed that “the hands of the demented who applauded this sickeness rot off at their limp wrists.”

Those on the left generally applauded the ceremony. Hemant Mehta, the Friendly Atheist, tweeted:

The ceremony.

Meanwhile, thousands die yearly at the hands of someone weilding a gun. Yet these same conservatives fight tooth and nail to deny sensible regulations, thus, keeping the death rate as high as possible.

Only in America.

Miley Cyrus’ VMA Performance a Must See… Maybe

Everyone was talking about the NSYN reunion at yesterday’s VMAs in New York. Seems the anticipation for some folks was palpable, as my phone rang constantly with OMG texts and I can’t wait Facebook messages.

I personally did not watch the VMAs. I couldn’t find a reason to, so needless to say, I missed the big reunion. But based on the buzz in the morning’s news, it seems NSYNC was just a minor storyline and I’m left wondering if they even performed.

From what I’m seeing, the real story of the VMAs was the Miley Cyrus performance. And based on the expression on the faces of Will Smith and his family, I’ll say Miley’s performance was something to see… or not.

What do you think?

LOL – Our Soldiers Have A Lot Of Time On Their Hands

Shooting guns, looking for the bad guys, dealing with weather conditions sometimes too hot, sometimes too cold, stepping over body parts and oh yea, performing. Our soldiers do it all. But I bet you’ve never seen Carly Rae Jepsen’s Call Me Maybe performed like this!
