Shaun White Pulled Out of the Olympic Slopestyle Contest

Shaun White pulled out of the Olympic slopestyle contest Wednesday, about 24 hours after being banged up on a course that riders are criticizing as unduly harsh.

White issued a statement, saying that after much deliberation, he has decided to forgo the new snowboarding event and concentrate on halfpipe, where he will try for his third straight gold medal next week.

“With the practice runs I have taken, even after course modifications and watching fellow athletes get hurt, the potential risk of injury is a bit too much for me to gamble my other Olympics goals on,” White said.

Considered among the favorites of the new events on the Sochi Olympics schedule, White jammed his left wrist during practice Tuesday, and when he came off the slopestyle course, he called it “a little intimidating.”

Russia Killing Stray Dogs Before Olympics Begin – Calls Them “Biological Trash”

The city of Sochi has hired a private company to kill as many stray dogs as possible before the Winter Olympics, it has been claimed.

Describing the animals as ‘biological trash’, the owner of the company has reportedly admitted being tasked with using poison and traps to rid the city of stray dogs before thousands of tourists and competitors arrive for the Games’ opening ceremony next Friday.

The news will anger animal rights campaigners who thought Sochi officials had abandoned plans to exterminate the stray dogs following widespread protests last year.

Speaking to ABC News, the owner of Basia Services extermination company Alexei Sorokin claimed the animals were a realistic threat to the Games.

‘Imagine if during an Olympic Games a ski jumper landed at 130KPH (80 MPH) and a dog runs into him when he lands. It would be deadly for both the jumper and the stray dog,’ he said.

When The Mitt Hits The Fan, Mitt Brings Out The Yellow Flip Flops

Seems Mitt Romney didn’t forget his flip-flops. Maybe he’s planning to visit some nice beaches in London. Who knows. But on his first official visit to tout his foreign experience, Mitt Romney neatly placed his foot in his mouth… again.

In a matter of 24 hours, Mitt’s yellow flip-flops were flopping all over the London Bridge, as he tried desperately to turn back the hands of time and take back a statement he made about London being unprepared for the Olympics.

We would not be surprised to see a shoe thrown in Mitt’s direction before his apology tour is over. No, we won’t be surprised at all.

Romney To Olympians – “You Didn’t Get Here Solely On Your Own.”

Mitt Flip Romney… I don’t know what else to say about this man.

After agreeing with the President that successful businesses owe their success to many factors, including Teachers, Firefighters, roads etc., Romney then criticized the President for saying that successful businesses owe their success to many factors, including Teachers, Firefighters, roads etc.

At a campaign rally in Virginia, the President was heard saying, “if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get their on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, ‘well it must be because I’m so smart.’ There are a lot of smart people out there.

The President continued.

“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you have a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.

Anyone listening to those words would agree. Even Mitt Romney, and he was heard echoing President Obama’s words at one of his campaign events, saying “we value school teachers, firefighters, people who build roads… You really couldn’t have a business if you didn’t have those things.”

But because Romney would say anything to get elected, he nitpick the President’s speech and focused on one part – “…if you have a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” And off he went, criticizing the president for something he agrees with the president on.

Now, even more evidence that Mitt Romney believes President Obama was correct.

Back when he headed the 2002 Olympics in Utah, Romney spoke to some of the competitors, telling them that they did not get to where they are on their own.

“You Olympians, however, know you didn’t get here solely on your own power,” said Romney, who on Friday will attend the Opening Ceremonies of this year’s Summer Olympics. “For most of you, loving parents, sisters or brothers, encouraged your hopes, coaches guided, communities built venues in order to organize competitions. All Olympians stand on the shoulders of those who lifted them. We’ve already cheered the Olympians, let’s also cheer the parents, coaches, and communities. All right! [pumps fist].”
