For GOP, it’s NEWT to The Rescue – Call the Coroner

This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that for the Republican party, the way to move forward is only accomplished in reverse.

Since Boehner jumped ship on the Republican speakership of the House and McCarthy’s candidacy for the same position ended in a belly flop, eyes turned to the only other logical party insider to fill the post, Paul Ryan. Ryan however, has been adamant that he does not want the job.

But this group of misfits in the House of Representatives need a leader, and word on the street is, Newton Gingrich is serious about the gig… again!

“If you were to say to me 218 have called you up and given you their pledge, obviously no citizen could ever turn down that kind of challenge,” Gingrich told radio and Fox host Sean Hannity. “This is why George Washington came out of retirement — because there are moments you can’t avoid.”

“Moments you can’t avoid” would be putting on a blindfold and going for a stroll along the edges of the Grand Canyon. Okay, so you can avoid doing that by choosing not to put on that blindfold or walking along the edges of the Grand Canyon. But if Republicans choose Gingrich as Speaker of the House, then like the blindfolded fool walking along the edge… well, somebody should call the Coroner.

Kevin McCarthy Drops Out of Running for Speaker of The House – Video

Besides the fact that he is a Republican, Kevin McCarthy has some other issues. One very big issue is, he cannot formulate a coherent sentence. How can you be Speaker of the House of Representatives when you can’t even… speak?

After doing some soul searching, Kevin McCarthy must have realized the irony of his ambition to be Speaker and decided against it. And he spoke his decision in this statement:

Confirmed – Benghazi Committee Was All About Damaging Hillary Clinton

He opened his mouth and for once, the truth jumped out. And that’s not something I’ll say often when talking about a Republican. This is the exception to the rule.

In an interview with Sean Hannity Tuesday night, the man who will likely take over as House Speaker when John Boehner officially leaves at the end of October, confirmed what everybody already suspected – that the so-called ‘Benghazi Committee’ was formed by Republicans to damage the credibility of Hilary Clinton.

“Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right?” Kevin McCarthy proudly asked on the Republican propaganda machine called Fox News. “But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping, why? Because she’s untrustable. But no one would have known any of that had happened.”

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the ranking member on the committee, said McCarthy’s comments were just further evidence that the Benghazi Committee was a waste of taxpayer money.

“This stunning concession from Rep. McCarthy reveals the truth that Republicans never dared admit in public: the core Republican goal in establishing the Benghazi Committee was always to damage Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and never to conduct an even-handed search for the facts,” Cummings said in a statement. “It is shameful that Republicans have used this tragedy and the deaths of our fellow Americans for political gain. Republicans have blatantly abused their authority in Congress by spending more than $4.5 million in taxpayer funds to pay for a political campaign against Hillary Clinton.”
