Republicans Are Willing to Default in Order to Destroy

Let it be Known that THIS President is Fed Up! He’s just about reached his Boiling point and so has America.

In his press conference on Tuesday, President Obama reiterated his position of Not negotiating with the Republican hostage takers unless they “do their jobs” and put an end to the Government Shutdown and their threats of not raising the Debt Ceiling.

President Obama did not mince words in his opening statement calling on Republican Speaker John Boehner to take the bill to a vote, something he had been asking Boehner to do since the shutdown began. The President spoke on Tuesday and said he was Willing to negotiate and have open discussions with Boehner and any other Republican on any issues, even the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) but not under extortion threats and not until they ended the shutdown.

The President also spoke on the looming Debt Ceiling crisis that is set to take us over the cliff on October 17th. During his opening comments, Mr Obama read statements by bankers, investors, the Treasury Dept., economists and even billionaire Warren Buffet, a staunch supporter of the President.

In those statements, the president described the potential outcome of defaulting on the nation’s debt. The president used words like insane, catastrophic, irresponsible and Buffet comparing the Default to the likes of an Atomic Bomb going off in America’s financial district.

With these highly qualified and financially successful individuals expressing such dire outcomes to this unfathomable inaction of not raising the Debt Ceiling, the Republicans have shown NO indication of giving in to the desires of the President, the Democratic and Independent members in Congress or the hundreds of thousands of Americans already suffering from the Government Shutdown. To be clear, some Reublicans have gone on record to say the Debt Ceiling is not a big deal.

Rep. John Fleming, (R) of Louisiana said of the economist predictions of castrophic events if the Debt Ceiling isn’t raised, “Many times they’re wrong. So I don’t think we should be running government based on economists’ predictions.” Rep. Richard Burr, (R) of NC made similar comments about not taking the Debt Ceiling seriously. Tom Coburn, (R) of Oklahoma was made an even worse assessment of the Debt Ceiling crisis by saying on an CNN interview that there is NO DEBT CEILING.

So, with the Republicans and Tea Party cheering on these self inflicted crises one after another, why would they – the same people who champion themselves as being Patriotic, Responsible and “Country loving” Americans – allow this Country to fall into Default? Why did they shutdown the Government and place thousands in financial dismay and/or ruin?

The shutdown has not only caused furloughs to hundreds of thousands, but is also affecting WIC programs and children that depend on that program for food and other necessities. It has affected the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in being able to pursue the aggressive viruses and diseases. And now, it is affecting loved ones who have had service men and women killed in the line of duty.

The Republican Party and Tea Party members are demanding the President negotiate with them or they will not end the shutdown AND will allow this country to Default on its obligations. Obama said yesterday that America has never defaulted in the last 225-years so why are the Republicans so Willing to let it occur now?

It’s not about Negotiations. It’s about Destroying a President.

The President said the Democrats have attempted to negotiate with Republicans 19-times only to have them squash talks with more of their wants but not giving anything in return.

No, the Republicans and Tea Party members are so willing to let this Country and the Amerian people suffer to destroy President Obama. Their plan is to tarnish, defame, discredit, nullify and destroy Obama’s legacy.

They are trying to kill this country and all of Obama’s successes will become null and void in their eyes and in their hopes, the Americans as well.

It’s a careless, irresponsible and harmful gamble by the Republicans and Tea Party members, but they seem oblivious or just plain ignorant to what may be their political demise.

Polls show that Americans are placing the government shutdown blame on Replublicans at 39% in the latest Pew Poll while 30% blamed Obama. But Republicans aren’t listening to Polls nor Americans because the end game is shutting down a President. And to think, the shutdown began with Obamacare but has now shifted to the Debt Ceiling.

What the outcome will bring is unclear but to the rest of the World, America’s Bright and Shiny Star is becoming a dull rock on a dusty hill.

We can’t, as President Obama said Tuesday, continue to manufacturer these crises every 3-months. Government wasn’t meant to operate in this fashion. But we have a group of people in Congress that have yet to accept This President as a Legitimate Leader of the Free World.

In reading some Twitter feeds on yesterday, one stuck out the most. It said, “The Black race has been more willing to Overcome and Work with the white race even after the Atrocities performed against them vs The White race Accepting a Black Man as President and working With Him.” Poignant indeed.

While No One Wants to Believe this is Racially motivated by the Republicans and Tea Party members, it’s been amazing to see how white America has reacted on Twitter and other social media outlets. If our white brothers and sisters are crying racism against the President, it’s clearly racism.

So what do we do about it? We Vote! Outvote the Extremists that elect these Extreme Members of Congress. We Expose them for who and what they are and Vote Them Out!

They say it’s time to take back Their country? Well I say It’s Time We Expel, vote out extremism and allow this Country To Move Forward! Now IS THE TIME! Vote America! If you want TRUE CHANGE, VOTE Out THE EXTREME!

New Ad: Chicken Boehner – “Tell John Boehner to grow a spine.”

The ad by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is being played mainly in John Boehner’s district in Ohio. John Boehner has been adamant over the last few days about not bringing a clean Continuing Resolution to the House floor for an up or down vote, because as he sees it, the votes are not there to pass such a bill.

Democrats on the other hand and even some Republicans say there are more than enough votes in the House pass the clean CR which will bring the Government back to full operation, but John Boehner is insisting everyone is wrong.

“Tell John Boehner to grow a spine,” the ad says.

President Obama has urged Boehner to bring the clean CR for a vote, stating if he is right about there not being enough votes to pass the Resolution, then he should prove it with the vote!

So far, Boehner would is not budging.

Remember When Boehner Said “Obamacare Was The Law Of The Land?” – Video

It wasn’t that long ago! As a matter of fact, Boehner said it right after President Obama won re-election in 2012.

Back in November, when Americans went to the poll and overwhelmingly reelected President Obama who ran his entire campaign on his signature law, John Boehner gave an interview to ABC. Host Diane Sawyer asked if there would be any more votes to repeal the law and Boehner answered that “the election changes that.” He then went on to proclaim, “Obamacare is the law of the land.”

That was then. Today, Republicans have attempted to repeal Obamacare over 41 times. Unable to do so, they have now shut down the government hoping the President would somehow take away this life saving healthcare provision from millions of Americans.

Let’s take a short stroll down memory lane.

White House to Boehner – Prove Us Wrong, Bring a Clean CR

House Republican “Leader” John Boehner went on television again on Sunday and told George Stephanopoulos that he would not bring a clean CR to the floor of the House for a vote, because he say, the bill will not pass. But the White House and other Democrats disagree, and they are asking Boehner to prove them wrong.

The White House on Sunday challenged  Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) to prove his assertion in an ABC News interview that “there are not the votes in the House” to pass a “clean” continuing resolution.

“If he’s right, why not prove it?” White House press secretary Jay Carney asked on Twitter. Dan Pfeiffer, the White House’s senior adviser for communications, tweeted that either Boehner “is all wrong or all his members are lying.”

“That files in the face of all the math and public statements of GOP members,” Pfeiffer said.

Democrats have repeatedly called on Boehner to allow a vote on a so-called “clean” Senate bill that would reopen the government for a short period of time, but not include Republican demands to delay or defund ObamaCare.

A whip count by The Washington Post found that 20 Republican representatives supported a so-called clean continuing resolution (CR), with another four counted as “leaning yes.” If all 200 Democrats voted for the legislation, they would need just 17 Republicans to vote with them.

Boehner made the comment during an interview on ABC’s “This Week,” after host George Stephanopoulos asked him if he was “prepared to schedule a clean bill on government funding.”

When Stephanopoulos pressed Boehner on whether it was true that the votes did not exist, the Speaker said that the American people expected leaders in Washington to “sit down and have a conversation.”

“We’re interested in having a conversation about how we open the government and how we begin to pay our bills,” Boehner said. “But it begins with a simple conversation.”

Other Democrats have also seized on Boehner’s assertion, daring the Speaker to bring the clean CR to a vote.

The Egos In The GOP Are More Important Than The Full Faith and Credit of The United States

I sat today and listened as the Republican House Speaker John Boehner talked to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos about the government shutdwon, and I couldn’t help thinking that Mr. Boehner – sometimes described in other media outlets as a “reasonable man” – is one pompous, egotistical ass!

Boehner and the House Republicans followed the leadership of a freshman Senator and allowed the United States government to shut down last week Tuesday. Now, almost seven days into the shutdown, Boehner is indicating that he and his republican accomplices have no intention of re-opening the government, even if it means America defaults on its debt!

The absolute final date for America to default is October 17th. That means that these so-called Congressional leaders must come together and figure out a way to raise the nation’s debt ceiling. But Republicans have put a padlock on the nation’s government, and they are refusing to unlock and open the door until President Obama succumb to their demands and dismantle a law that is already giving millions of Americans healthcare.

Stephanopoulos asked the question on different occasions throughout the interview. What’s the end game? Would Republicans let the nation default on its debt if President Obama refuse to bow down to their demands?

Boehner answered, “That’s the path we’re on. … I don’t want the United States to default on its debt. But I’m not going to raise the debt limit without a serious conversation about dealing with problems that are driving the debt up. It would be irresponsible of me to do this.”

So Mr Ego here is telling America… telling the world for that matter… that he and his Republican cohorts are willing to allow this nation to default for the first time in our history. And of course, he’s doing this “for the American people!”

No Boehner, you are not doing this for the American people.

The American people want to live and be healthy! We want to purchase healthcare and pay our monthly policy bill so that in the unfortunate event that we are hospitalized, we would not have to sell our home or file bankruptcy to avoid paying the bill!

What we want is for the government of the greatest nation on earth to function, and to function for we the people!

What the American people want is majority rule! That’s why we have elections. We do not want a minority party that will force the majority in the government or the majority of the people to do things their way by shutting down the government, and then threaten defaulting on the nation’s debt because they think they have a made-up, imaginary mandate that must be carried out!

Like President Obama said in a CNBC interview, “I am exasperated with the idea that, unless I say that, ‘Twenty million people, you can’t have health insurance,’ these folks will not reopen the government.  That is irresponsible!”

The President explained in that interview that he is ready to talk with Republicans, but only if the reopen the government using a clean continuing resolution or CR to allow the government to pay the bills that Congress already racked up.

“Until we get that done, until we make sure that Congress allows Treasury to pay for things that Congress itself already authorized, we are not going to engage in a series of negotiations.”

“It is not acceptable for one faction of one part in one chamber to say, ‘Either we get what we want or we’ll shut down the government.’  Or even worse, ‘We will not allow the U.S. Treasury to pay its bills and put the United States in default for the first time in history.’”

“If we get in the habit where a few folks, an extremist wing of one party, whether it’s Democrat or Republican, are allowed to extort concessions based on a threat of undermin[ing] the full faith and credit of the United States, then any president who comes after me, not just me, will find themselves unable to govern effectively.”

But apparently, the egos in the Republican party is more important than the full faith and credit of the United States!

Leave it up to Saturday Night Live to come up with this idea. Remixing a Miley Cyrus song and turning it into a song about the biggest political event in our nation today – The Republican Government Shutdown.

The stars of the parody music video below are the usual culprits – Republican House Leader John Boehner and Republican Minnesota House Rep. Michele Bachmann, singing about how they shut down the government.

Crying Baby Throws Boehner Tantrum – Video

A new attack ad is out and it compares Republican House Speaker John Boehner to a crying baby.

Although the ad is meant to be funny, it has some truth to it. John Boehner known, at least in my circle of friends, as the Washington cryer.

John Boehner – “I just let that s–t roll off my back”

The Republican House Speaker was responding to questions from reporters about his so-called leadership skills. And the criticism he’s getting over those imaginary skills.

“People say a lot of things about me,” Boehner told GOP lawmakers in a closed-door meeting, according to two people who attended. “People outside this room. People inside this room. I just let that s–t roll off my back.”

Boehner has been buffeted by criticism from all corners of the political world in recent weeks. Conservatives have rapped him for not pushing hard enough in fiscal fights, while Democrats have said he is allowing the Tea Party to push him around.

The Speaker alluded to the criticism as he addressed Republicans on Wednesday, reminding them that he sought the job not to occupy a “big office,” but to get things done.

Here are your three main problems Boehner.

  1. You have s–t on your back!
  2. You think it’s the media who’s putting the s–t on your back, when it’s really dropping from the Teaparty morons in your own party.
  3. Letting s–t roll off your back leaves s–t stains, and the smell remains!

GOP Sources Say Boehner Will Step Down after Midterm Elections

His two terms as Speaker of the House has been a tremendous failure. Now sources are saying that John Boehner will step aside after the midterm elections.

Former aides to John Boehner and other high-level GOP operatives are increasingly convinced that the House speaker will step aside after the 2014 midterm elections, according to interviews with a dozen Republican sources.

All summer, rumors have been swirling around the Hill and K Street that the speaker has had enough and that 2014 would be his last year with the gavel. Then the message went out in July: Boehner (R-Ohio) is not leaving.

Boehner told his inner circle at dinner that there was no truth to the talk, and authorized his people to spread the word around town. A story appeared in Politico the next day, reaffirming Boehner’s stated commitment to stay past 2014.

“These inside-the-Beltway parlor games take place every two years. The speaker has made clear publicly he intends to remain in his position in the next Congress,” Boehner spokesman Michael Steel told HuffPost.

But not everyone close to the 63-year-old speaker is so sure. “He has to say that. He can’t not say that. The minute you say [you’re leaving], you’re done,” said one former GOP leadership aide who is part of Boehner’s circle. “Everybody around him thinks this is his last term.”

Despite the effort by Boehner to tamp down speculation that he will depart the House after the 2014 midterms, multiple cooks in Boehner’s kitchen cabinet think the Republican is still strongly considering making his exit just over a year from now.

Republican Leaders All Declined To Speak At Dr. Martin Luther King’s Commemoration

Dr. Martin Luther King is known worldwide, and it would have been appropriate on this day, fifty years after King’s I Have A Dream Speech when thousands traveled to Washington to remember and celebrate… it would have been fitting to have the political leaders from both sides put away their partisan ideologies and come together as one.

It would have been fitting… if it had actually happened.

Reports are coming out now that leaders from the Republican party were invited to speak today, but they all declined.

Speaker John A. Boehner and Majority Leader Eric Cantor, the House’s two most senior Republicans, were invited to speak at the 50th anniversary of the historic March on Washington — but declined.

That wasn’t a wise choice, said Julian Bond, a renowned civil rights activist, in an interview with MSNBC on Wednesday afternoon.

“What’s really telling, I think, is the podium behind me, just count at the end of the day how many Republicans will be there,” Bond told news anchor Alex Wagner. “They asked senior President Bush to come, he was ill. They asked junior Bush, he said he had to stay with his father.

“They asked a long list of Republicans to come,” Bond continued, “and to a man and woman they said ‘no.’ And that they would turn their backs on this event was telling of them, and the fact that they seem to want to get black votes, they’re not gonna get ‘em this way.”

According to Boehner’s spokesman Michael Steel, the Ohio Republican “was invited, but spoke at the Congressional ceremony instead, as did Sens. Reid and McConnell, and Rep. Pelosi.”

Cantor, meanwhile, was asked 12 days ago to participate in Wednesday’s event commemorating Martin Luther King Jr.’s delivery of the famous “I Have a Dream” speech, according to an aide. The Virginia Republican, however, is currently traveling in North Dakota and Ohio, touring energy sites with Rep. Kevin Cramer, R-N.D., and participating in “nonofficial events,” according to an aide.

There will only be one 50 year celebration of this most important time in America’s history. Dr. King’s speech changed the directory of this nation where civil rights were concerned. We will never celebrate another 50 year mark, but not even this very important anniversary managed to convince Republicans to put aside their partisan bickering.

If this occasion failed to make them come together, then it is safe to say that nothing, absolute nothing, will make them come together to do the right thing.

President Obama Lures in Republicans with Deficit Deal

I guess desperate times call for desperate measures.

In an attempt to reach a deficit-reduction deal, President Obama is offering to cut essential programs such as Social Security and Medicare in his new budget proposal. The President’s proposal will include a cut of $1.8 trillion over 10 years and replace the budget cuts that went into effect on March 1. This deal also revisits an earlier proposal to House Speaker, John Boehner, where $400 billion in savings to Medicare would occur over those 10 years.

A senior administration official commented,

The President’s budget to be presented on Wednesday will show how we can invest in the things we need to grow our economy, create jobs and strengthen the middle class while further reducing the deficit in a balanced way

The Social Security portion will include a ‘chained CPI’, an inflation formula which should attract many Republicans as the CPI is argued to be a more accurate calculation of inflation which could possibly help minimize the growth of consumer prices. The idea of whether or not this is truly the case is still being heavily debated.

There’s little doubt that this proposal will cause some dissent against President Obama as cutting Social Security and Medicare is an unpopular choice for many Democratic supporters.

However, this has been an ongoing battle between the President and many Republican incumbents and it’s clear that the President is ready to move forward with some type of compromise that pleases most, if not all, members of each party.

Just don’t bend too far, Mr. President.

Boehner “Absolutely” Trusts Obama – Don’t Tell The Teaparty!

WASHINGTON (AP) — House Speaker John Boehner says he “absolutely” trusts President Barack Obama — not that they don’t have their differences.

Boehner tells ABC’s “This Week” that the two have a good relationship and that they’re “open with each other … honest with each other.” But the Ohio lawmaker says they’re trying to bridge some big differences.

One issue they agree on: The U.S. doesn’t have an immediate crisis in terms of debt.

Some conservatives criticized Obama when he said last week that the country doesn’t have an immediate debt crisis.

Boehner says a debt crisis does loom in the years ahead because entitlement programs are not sustainable if they aren’t changed.

He says balancing the budget will help the economy.
