Petition to Ban Donald Trump from United Kingdom Passes Half a Million Signatures

While Donald Trump gains more love and support from Republicans here in America, his prospects in the United Kingdom grows more and more grim.

A recent petition to ban Trump from entering the United Kingdom because of racist statements the Republican presidential candidate has made in recent days, has now grown to well over 500,000 signatures. The original goal was to get 100.000 votes in the hopes that Parliament will take up the motion. With over 500.000 people signing the petition, we now wait for the government to decide whether Trump will ever welcomed to the U.K ever!

In case you haven’t seen the petition, here it is!

New Bill Bans Employers From Checking Your Credit Before Your Employment

Employers would no longer have the right to attain a prospective employee’s credit report, or to deny a job applicant based on credit status, under a bill introduced Tuesday in the US Senate.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and six other senators proposed the Equal Employment for All Act, which would aim to end the ability of employers to run credit checks on possible employees, currently a common practice.

Advocates of the measure says employer credit checks are a high, needless barrier of entry into the labor market for many with poor scores. Supporters add that the employer checks contribute to long-term unemployment and have disproportionately impacted women, minorities, students and seniors.

“There’s little or no evidence of any correlation between job performance and a credit [report],” Warren said Tuesday, according to CNN. “[T]his is a point of basic fairness…people who get hit with hard economic blows end up getting squeezed out of the system. This is another way the game is rigged against hardworking middle-class families.”

The think-tank Demos found in a report this year that one in ten unemployed Americans were denied a job based on credit status. Demos said the report evaluations target anywhere from entry-level positions to senior management staff.

Mississippi Pastor is Purging His Flock – No More Fried Chicken

A Mississippi-based minister, inspired by the Obama White House’s anti-obesity efforts, is trying to purge his flock of fried chicken.

“Fried chicken has mysterious powers,” Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Church pastor Michael Minor told WMC-TV.

While he helps members his congregation go through the process of signing up for health care through the Affordable Care Act, Minor is banning the “mysterious” bird from all church events.

“People are healthier, [they have] more energy. Their weight is down and once you get the weight down, you want to keep it down,” said Minor.

According to BuzzFeed, Minor has also helped promote the first lady’s signature “Let’s Move” healthy eating initiative and his church has received a federal grant for his efforts to get Mississippians registered for Obamacare.

The poor health of his parishioners was the main motivation for his stand against tasty but fattening food.

“It was so bad, I was having a funeral every weekend,” he said.

Pants on the Ground Ban

As an employee in an educational facility, one of the biggest eye-sores I encounter on a daily basis is saggy pants. We actually have a school policy against the so-called ‘fashion trend’, yet it doesn’t seem to stop some young and older men from having their pants sag down to their knees and exposing us all to their underwear.

I’m sorry, but if every time you go to stand up you have to pull your pants up, there’s a problem here and a nice belt is a great, easy solution to the problem.

Well, it should come to no surprise that some towns are saying enough is enough and that is what’s happening in Terrebonne Parish, Louisiana.

The Terrebonne Parish Town Council is hoping to put a ban into effect against saggy pants. The following penalties will ensue if pants are caught below the buttocks:

  • $50 for first-time violators
  • $100 for second offenses
  • $100 and 16 hours of public service for each following offense

The ordinance which the town council has already voted 8-1 to pass and sign into law states:

Appearing in public view while exposing one’s skin or undergarments below the waist is contrary to safety, health, peace and good order of the parish and the general welfare

The American Civil Liberty Union of Louisiana opposes this ban because they feel it violates constitutional rights. They claim:

To ban a particular clothing style would violate a liberty interest guaranteed under the 14th Amendment…The government does not belong in the business of telling people what to wear. Nor does it have the right to use clothing as a pretext to engage in otherwise unlawful stops of innocent people

And while the American Civil Liberty Union has a valid point here, I personally feel that my civil liberties are violated on the daily as I am constantly being exposed to someone’s dirty drawers and subsequent butt views. To me, that is indecent exposure at it’s best, or shall I say, at it’s worst.

It’ll be interesting to see how this develops, but in the meantime…

PULL YOUR PANTS UP!!
