Once Again, Paul Ryan Ignores The DREAMers – Video

Paul Ryan is a staunch Republican. Republicans – if you haven’t figured it out yet – don’t like immigrants,  although tracing through their lineage you will most likely find that they too are decedent’s of immigrants.

Ryan recently voted against DACA, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals – an Obama policy that makes it possible for “individuals who came to the United States as children and meet other key guidelines, to remain in the country “for a period of two years, subject to renewal.” A couple these ‘DREAMers’ went to a Paul Ryan book signing in Florida and asked Paul why he voted against DACA. Paul clearly had better things to do than be bothered by these folks.

Alaska Republican Refers To Immigrants As “Wetbacks”

Rep. Don Young of Alaska said Thursday that he “meant no disrespect” when he used the term “wetbacks” to refer to the migrant laborers who used to work on his father’s California ranch.

The Republican congressman dropped the racial slur during an interview with the Alaska radio station KRBD when talking about the changing market for U.S. labor jobs.

“My father had a ranch; we used to have 50 to 60 wetbacks to pick tomatoes,” he said. “It takes two people to pick the same tomatoes now. It’s all done by machine.”

The term “wetback” was originally used to refer to Mexicans who entered the U.S. by swimming or wading across the Rio Grande.

After an uproar about his use of the derogatory term, Young issued a statement that walked back the remark without exactly apologizing.

“During a sit down interview with Ketchikan Public Radio this week, I used a term that was commonly used during my days growing up on a farm in Central California,” he said, according to Alaska’s KTUU-TV. “I know that this term is not used in the same way nowadays and I meant no disrespect.

Republican Joe The Plumber Proposes Shooting Immigrants To Fix Immigration Problem

At two separate events in recent days, Samuel “Joe the Plumber” Wurzelbacher has proposed to “put a damn fence on the border going to Mexico and start shooting.”

Wurzelbacher first made the remarks during a campaign rally for Arizona Republican state Rep. Lori Klein on Friday, according to video published by Prescott eNews.

“For years I’ve said, you know, put a damn fence on the border, going to Mexico and start shooting,” he insisted.

Wurzelbacher then repeated the remarks at a so-called “Patriot Rally” with Klein on Saturday.

“I’m running for Congress. How many congressmen or people running for Congress have you heard, put a fence up and start shooting? None? Well you heard it here first. Put troops on the border and start shooting, I bet that solves our immigration problem real quick.”
