“We Blame Donald Trump” for NY Man’s Murder

When you preach hate and intolerance, getting blamed for acts of violence due to hate and intolerance is the obvious conclusion. And today, after two Muslim men were shot in Queens New York, Donald Trump is being blamed.

A Queens, NY imam and his assistant were both shot by a lone gunman on Saturday as they left prayer services at the Al-Furqan Jame Masjid Mosque in Ozone Park.

The New York Daily News reported that both men were shot in the head at around 1:50 p.m. in broad daylight. Police have not released the victims’ names, only reported that one man is dead and the other is seriously injured.

Outside the mosque a group of congregants gathered to grieve and commiserate.

“That’s not what America is about,” said resident Khairul Islam to the Daily News. “We blame Donald Trump for this…Trump and his drama has created Islamophobia.”

Witnesses said the two men were walking together when a single gunman walked up to them and opened fire. The shooter is described as “tall and dark-skinned, carrying a large handgun, and wearing a dark blue shirt and short pants.”

“People being shot in the head in broad daylight is unheard of,” said Millat Uddin, a 25-year resident of the neighborhood to the Daily News. “Killing people brutally, like they’re an animal.”

“All of a sudden I heard five shots,” said a witness, “I knew it wasn’t firecrackers. And then the commotion of the emergency (vehicles), and that’s when I knew…When I came here, they were doing CPR to both of the people on the ground.”

Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine Release More Taxes – Trump Still Hides His

What are you hiding Donald? Why shouldn’t the American people know the truth about your finances? Must be some sick secrets you are trying to hide.

Hillary Clinton and her running mate, Tim Kaine, released a new batch of their own income tax returns on Friday, ratcheting up the pressure on her opponent, Donald J. Trump.

The income taxes of Mrs. Clinton, along with her husband, former President, Bill Clinton, showed an adjusted gross income of $10.6 million for 2015, revealing how during the campaign the Clintons have reined in their moneymaking efforts after many years of lucrative speeches, book deals and business endeavors. Mr. Kaine, the Virginia senator, and his wife, Anne Holton, reported income of $313,441 for 2015.
But aside from their earnings, the latest showing by the Democratic candidates was intended to put a spotlight on Mr. Trump’s failure to release his returns.

The New York businessman has declined so far to release his income tax data, saying that will not do so while he is facing an audit from the Internal Revenue Service — a highly unusual move for a major party candidate. Mike Pence, the Indiana governor and Mr. Trump’s running mate, has not made public his tax data during the campaign.

Mrs. Clinton’s spokeswoman, Jennifer Palmieri, said in a statement the release sets a “stark contrast” with Mr. Trump, whom she accused of “hiding behind fake excuses.”

“He has failed to provide the public with the most basic financial information disclosed by every major candidate in the last 40 years,” she said. “What is he trying to hide?”

Dixie Chicks Singer Slam Republicans for Continued Backing of Trump – Tweet

Oh yea, I remember this. The poor singer was practically run out of the country by Republicans and conservatives for talking about then president, George W Bush!

Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines is lashing out at Republicans for the party’s response to Donald Trump calling for “Second Amendment people” to stop Hillary Clinton.

“I get banned for not liking Bush and now Trump can practically put a hit out on Hillary and he’s still all over the country radio! Hypocrites!” Maines tweeted early Thursday.

In March 2003, Maines met with a serious backlash when she spoke out against the Iraq War at a concert in London and said she and her band were “ashamed” of President George W. Bush.

“Just so you know, we’re on the good side with y’all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the president of the United States is from Texas,” Maines said at the time.

Republican Congressman Explains Why He’s Voting for Hillary Clinton – Audio

On Hillary Clinton and why he is voting for her, Republican Congressman Richard Hanna of New York, said;

“I believe that she can do the job and the Republican Party, who I think damaged itself by pandering so deeply to its extremes, has alienated so many categories of people in this country. You know, young people, women, Hispanics, the LGBT community.”

And why he is not supporting his fellow New Yorker and the leader of his party, Donald Trump? Hanna explained,

“He’s unhinged. It’s difficult to imagine why anyone could support him. He comes across as a demagogue. He comes across as a guy who, frankly, Putin has made a fool of. The ways, the reasons not to support him are growing by the day.”

The Trump-Christie Effect

In case you missed it, Donald Trump had a terrible week that saw any lead he had after the GOP Convention in Cleveland completely evaporate in a climate-changing blast of heat and parch. Not only did he dive into the empty pool of stereotype, anti-Islamic rhetoric and sexism, he ended the week by questioning the sanity and mental awareness of Hillary Clinton. She’s gone from being corrupt to evil and unhinged in his eyes. It is certainly true that Hillary has spent a great deal of her campaign time attacking Trump for being unfit to be president, but when he acts the way he did last week, she has a point. If that’s the way he’s going to react after a political attack from the Khans, then how will he react when things go badly if (shudder) he wins the White House?

Republicans are running away from Trump in larger numbers than those he might have gained from disaffected Democrats, and his late week endorsement of Paul Ryan and John McCain’s primary fights came far too late to be seen as sincere. And to think we’ve been told that Trump is a different person in private. Would it kill him to show us that side?

I don’t have evidence, which is what makes personal blogging such a joy, but I can’t help but think that Chris Christie, the now-popularly-challenged (30% approval) governor of New Jersey, is failing in his attempts to influence the Republican standard-bearer. Christie was done in because of texts and emails related to the GW Bridge scandal, and Trump’s tweets seem to be having the same effects on his campaign.  But where Christie acts like a politician, Trump defies convention. If Christie is supposed to be running Trump’s transition team, he’s either not doing a very good job or, more likely, is having little effect on Trump’s sense that he really needs to start focusing on Clinton’s weaknesses in a coherent fashion.

Of course, having someone who’s broadly disliked advising another person who’s broadly disliked is not a recipe for success. Yes, Hillary also suffers from underwater favorability, but that’s changing, if this new ABC news poll is any indication. We’re still in Hillary’s convention bounce window, so let’s see what’s happening with the polls once the Olympics are finished.

In the meantime, letting Donald be Donald doesn’t seem to be a winning strategy.

Rick Santorum Gets Pulverized for Defending Donald Trump – Video

He should have known that going on Bill Maher’s show would be a disaster. But having a fellow conservative panelist attack him for his support for Trump must have taken Santorum by surprise.

Trump Down 10 Points in New “Fox News” Poll

Donald Trump went in front of his audience Wednesday night an proclaimed that all was well in the Trump camp. Truth is, all is not well. But the sad folks believing every word from his mouth are better off ignorant to the fact that Trump and his campaign are going down… fast… like an anvil hung around his neck.

Late Wednesday afternoon,  a poll sponsored by the Trump-friendly Fox News Network. To be clear, that’s Fox News — the network that employs Sean Hannity, the television host who has been Trump’s most ardent supporter, and Bill O’Reilly, who runs a close second.

The poll released late Wednesday afternoon was the first from Fox since the end of June, meaning that it should have fully captured the changes in the race since both Trump and Clinton were officially made their parties’ nominees at their respective national conventions.

The results suggest that if Trump is going to continue pushing the idea that the system is “rigged,” he’s going to need to find a narrative that includes Fox News being co-opted as part of the conspiracy.

The Fox poll was last conducted at the end of June and it showed Clinton ahead by six percentage points nationally, 44 to 38. On Wednesday, the margin spiked to 10 percentage points, 49 percent for Clinton and 39 percent for Trump.

Clinton has enjoyed 10-plus point margins in the Fox poll, but not since the spring, and certainly not since Trump has had the ability to turn his full focus on her. As recently as May, Trump was leading Clinton by a 45-42 margin.

Trump’s Spokesperson Blames Obama for Capt. Khan’s Death in 2004

She is a perfect fit. Donald Trump is known for lying at the drop of a dime, so why shouldn’t his spokesperson do the same? Lying is probably the only qualification needed to be Trump’s spokesperson.

During a discussion with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Donald Trump’s campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson was asked if her boss had any plans to apologize to the Khan family for suggesting that Ghazala Khan, Humayun’s grieving mother, was not “allowed” to speak at last week’s Democratic National Convention because she is Muslim.

What exactly is Mr. Trump supposed to be apologizing for?” Pierson asked. “It was under Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton that changed the rules of engagements that probably cost his life.”

NOTE: Social Media lambasted Pierson for her comment. She later took back her claim that Obama was responsible for Captain Khan’s death.

Obama Calls Out Republican Leaders for Failure to Denounce Donald Trump

It has been a disastrous campaign from day one but somehow, maybe because he said all the things that stroke the Republicans’ ego, Donald Trump managed to outwit and outlast all the other contenders for president. But when Trump decided to take on Gold Parents, Khizr and Gazala Khan, whose son died in Iraq while defending the United States, the current Commander-in-Chief refused to stay quiet.

Obama called Trump “unfit” to serve in the White House, and gave a blistering denunciation of the GOP presidential nominee.
“He said it was long past time for Republicans to revoke their endorsements of Trump, noting that his criticisms of the businessman were shared by many in the GOP.

“Yes, I think the Republican nominee is unfit to serve as president,” Obama said. “I said so last week, and he keeps on proving it.”

“This is not just my opinion,” Obama continued, pointing to the “repeated denunciations” of Trump’s statements by top Republicans including SpeakerPaul Ryan(R-Wis.), Senate Majority LeaderMitch McConnell(R-Ky.) and Sen.John McCain(R-Ariz.).

“The question, I think, they have to ask themselves is, if they are repeatedly having to say in very strong terms that what he has said is unacceptable, why are you still endorsing him?” Obama asked.”What does this say about your party that this is your standard-bearer?”

What made Obama’s comments all the more striking is that they did not come at a political convention or a rally with Democratic nomineeHillary Clinton, but at a joint White House press conference with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong of Singapore.Obama said Trump’s latest controversy — the feud with the Khans — was not “an episodic gaffe,” noting GOP leaders are forced to address the businessman’s comments almost daily.

“There has to come a point at which you say ‘enough,” Obama said.

CNN Host Calls Donald Trump a “Bullshit Artist” on Television – Video

While trying to explain the many different positions Donald Trump has on soooooo many different issues, CNN host Fareed Zakaria could not find a different word to use, so he opened his mouth on national television and blurted out that Donald Trump is a “bullshit artist!”

“There’s a term for this kind of thing — this is the mode of a bullshit artist,” Zakaria said on CNN’s “Wolf” on Monday about Trump’s reversal.

“It’s sometimes amusing, it’s entertaining, if the guy is trying to sell you a condo or a car. But for the president of the United States, it’s uniquely worrying,” he continued.

Warren Buffett to Donald Trump – Release Your Taxes

Donald Trump’s campaign said the Republican presidential candidate will not be showing his taxes – a first in decades of presidential candidates. The reason Trump gives for not releasing his tax returns is that he is supposedly “being audited by the IRS.” There are some who believe this reason and they will most likely be voting for Trump in November, but others say a look at Trump’s taxes will show some devious transactions, transactions a snake-oil salesman like Trump will not be able to explain.

Warren Buffett, a legitimate billionaire, does not believe Trump’s excuse. Buffett has challenged Trump to release his taxes. Buffett said he is willing to meet and publicly exchange taxes with Trump “any place, any time.”

At a rally in Omaha, Neb., for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, Buffett knocked Trump’s argument that he can’t release his tax returns because he’s being audited by the IRS, saying he’s also under an audit.

“I’d be delighted to meet him any place, any time between now and election,” Buffett said. “And let people ask us questions about the items on there.”

Trump has received scrutiny from both Democrats and Republicans for refusing to release his tax returns, something that candidates have historically done while running for president.

Clinton has released more than 30 years of her returns.

“How many of you afraid to make tax returns public?” Buffett asked. “You’re only afraid if you have something to be afraid about.”

“He’s not afraid because of … the IRS,” he added. “He’s afraid of you.”

Hillary Clinton Attacks Trump for Attacking Dead Soldier’s Family

Donald Trump has said and done some awful and unthinkable things since starting his Republican presidential campaign. But when he attacked the family of a deceased soldier, a soldier who gave his life to protect this nation, Trump might have crossed the line that even some Republicans can’t forgive.

Realizing the latest hole Trump willfully and yes, ignorantly jumped into, Hillary Clinton helped in piling on the dirt on Trump’s political grave.

Speaking at Imani Temple, an African American Catholic church, Clinton said she “tremble before those who would scapegoat other Americans.”

“Mr. Khan paid the ultimate sacrifice in his family, didn’t he?” Clinton said, according to Politico.

“And what has he heard from Donald Trump? Nothing but insults and degrading comments about Muslims — a total misunderstanding of what made our country great, religious freedom, religious liberty. It’s enshrined in our Constitution, as Mr. Khan knows, because he’s actually read it.”

Clinton addressed Trump’s comments again later on Sunday during another campaign stop in Ohio.

“To launch an attack as he did on Captain Khan’s mother, a Gold Star mother, who stood there on that stage with her husband honoring the sacrifice of their son,” she told reporters, according to CBS News. “I don’t know where the bounds are. I don’t know where the bottom is.”
