Conway and Sanders Hammered at White House Correspondents Dinner – Video

Never heard of her before. But after last night’s White House Correspondents dinner, the name Michelle Wolf will most likely be remembered for the way she went after Donald Trump – Wolf called him the “only pussy you are not allowed to grab” and two senior members of his administration – Kellyanne Conway and Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Trump, for the second time in his administration was a no-show. Although it’s all done in fun, the man is too thin-skinned and cannot stand someone making fun of him. But his absence did not stop Wolf from obliterating him. She joked about Trump and his porn star escapades and his pussy-grabbing skills. But it was Wolf’s comments about Conway and Sanders that stung… especially since the two women were present at the dinner.

Wolf called Conway a “liar,” and urged others not to book her on television because of her lies. And as far as Sanders, also labeled a liar by Wolf among other things, Sanders was noticeably shaken by her moment in the spotlight.

Punctuated by choice expletives I’ve never heard before in a Correspondents Dinner, Wolf was funny. I’ll be checking out her other works.

White House Responds to Larry Wilmore Calling Obama “My N*gga” – Video

Mine was one of the millions of mouths that dropped to the floor Saturday night when comedian Larry Wilmore dropped the “N” word when referring to President Obama. “My n*gga,” as he ended his White House Correspondents Dinner comedic monologue.

The shock of hearing someone used that word while talking about the president was just momentary though, as the president seemed to go along with Wilmore’s characterization of him. Mr. Obama smiled, tapped his chest with a closed fist then made the peace sign, as if to say, it’s all good!

“I’m confident that Mr. Wilmore used the word by design. He was seeking to be provocative,” White House spokesman Josh Earnest said during a press briefing. “But I think any reading of his comments makes clear he was not using the president as the butt of a joke.”

Earnest compared Wilmore’s performance to Stephen Colbert, who faced criticism for his White House Correspondents Dinner speech during the Bush administration. Wanda Sykes also ignited controversy in 2009, Earnest noted, after she made fun of conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh.

“It’s not the first time we’ve had a conversation about this,” he remarked.

Earnest said the president “appreciated the spirit of the sentiments that Mr. Wilmore expressed.”

My Racist Experience at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner

It’s the little indignities that slowly devastate your soul,” the Huffington Post‘s Seema Jilani writes in a piece about what she says was “white privilege on display.”

… They refused to let me through. For the next half hour, they watched as I frantically called my husband but was unable to reach him.

Then something remarkable happened. I watched as they let countless other women through — all Caucasian — without even asking to see their tickets. I asked why they were allowing them to go freely when they had just told me that I needed a ticket. Their response? “Well, now we are checking tickets.” He rolled his eyes and let another woman through, this time actually checking her ticket. His smug tone, enveloped in condescension, taunted, “See? That’s what a ticket looks like.”

When I asked “Why did you lie to me, sir?” they threatened to have the Secret Service throw me out of the building — me, a 4’11” young woman who weighs 100 pounds soaking wet, who was all prettied up in elegant formal dress, who was simply trying to reach her husband. The only thing on me that could possibly inflict harm were my dainty silver stilettos, and they were too busy inflicting pain on my feet at the moment. My suspicion was confirmed when I saw the men ask a blonde woman for her ticket and she replied, “I lost it.” The snickering tough-guy responded, “I’d be happy to personally escort you down the escalators ma’am.

Like a malignancy, it had crept in when I least expected it — this repugnant, infectious bigotry we have become so accustomed to. “White privilege” was on display, palpable to passersby who consoled me.
