Poll: Democrats Want Andrew Cuomo Over Joe Biden

The New York Post is reporting that a majority of Democrats want to nominate New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo for president instead of Joe Biden, according to poll results shared exclusively with The Post.

The national poll found 56 percent of Democrats prefer Cuomo, with 44 percent wanting to stick with presumptive nominee Biden — a 12-point margin well outside the 4.8 percent margin of error for the Democratic sample.

Hispanic voters, young people, women and self-identified liberals are most likely to favor dumping the former vice president for Cuomo.

The poll, conducted April 3-6, was commissioned by the conservative pro-market Club for Growth, which generally supports Republican candidates.

Cuomo denied last month that he wanted to run for president, but some Democrats still are clamoring for an alternative to Biden, who faded from public view during the coronavirus outbreak, which elevated Cuomo in daily press conferences.

Doctors Ask States to Donate Lethal Injection Drugs to Save Covid 19 Patients

What a concept – use drugs to save lives instead of taking lives.

“We’re running out of all the drugs,” one doctor told the paper.

Over 2,600 people are currently awaiting execution, according to the Death Penalty Information Center. Thirty states, plus the federal government, “use lethal injection as their primary method,” while others use it as a backup.

Since the pandemic, states have not even been using these drugs for that. On April 1, a Texas court issued a stay of execution, its third since the outbreak, citing the disruption to the court system.

In their letter, the experts, such as Harvard Medical School’s Prashant Yadav and David Waisel, argued that the drugs death-penalty states typically use to take lives could, instead, be used to help front-line doctors extend them.

“Your stockpile could save the lives of hundreds of people,” they wrote. “At this crucial moment for our country, we must prioritize the needs and lives of patients above ending the lives of prisoners.”

Words of Wisdom: Obama Warned Americans About the Prospects of a Pandemic

Six years ago, the former President of the United States Barack Obama, spoke some sobering words about the importance of doing everything necessary to stop exactly what we’re dealing with now. Too bad the current president chose to downplay the pandemic instead of actually doing something about it.

Coronavirus Response Helps Sink Trump’s Approval Ratings

Maybe it’s the lies he tell, misleading Americans into thinking the we were immune to coronavirus, that the virus will never come to our borders. Or maybe it just the fact that Donald Trump is a terrible president. Whatever the reason, Americans are not liking Trump right now.

Donald Trump isn’t benefiting from what political scientists refer to as a “rally ‘round the flag” effect — a traditional surge in popularity as the nation unites behind its leader during an emergency situation.

Even as the country confronts the greatest disruption to daily life since World War II, a series of new polls released this week show Trump’s approval ratings plateauing in the mid-40s, roughly where his approval rating stood a month ago, before the coronavirus shuttered much of the nation’s economic and social activity.

In other words, public views of Trump’s leadership in the coronavirus crisis are now breaking down along familiar lines of polarization: Americans view his performance during the pandemic about the same way they view his performance generally.

Throughout the first three years of his presidency, Trump’s approval rating has traded in a narrow band. But his failure to unite the country behind his leadership also reflects Americans’ judgment of his handling of the outbreak thus far: In poll after poll this week, increasing percentages say they think Trump is doing a bad job, and his administration hasn’t done enough to protect citizens from the effects of Covid-19.

President Obama is “Eager to go” against Trump

Now that Bernie Sanders has ended his campaign for Presidency, sources close to former President Barack Obama says the former President is anxious to get into the campaign against Donald Trump.

The former president has stayed out of the Democratic primary, but sources say he is anxious to endorse his former vice president, Joe Biden, and become an active player in the general election campaign against President Trump.

Democrats across the country are also ready for his entry.

“IT IS TIME,” Doug Landry, a former Hillary Clinton aide, wrote Wednesday, tweeting a cartoon image of Obama as superman. “RELEASE THE SUPER SURROGATE.”

Sources close to the former president is ready, but that he and Biden are also conscious of the coronavirus pandemic dominating the country and changing the nature of politics.

Biden actually spoke by phone with Trump on Monday to discuss the pandemic, and Sanders made it clear that the spreading virus was one reason he ended his campaign on Wednesday despite the urgings of some supporters to continue.

“He’s eager to go,” said one source close to Obama. “He’s been waiting for this election for almost four years.”

Deborah Birx Couldn’t Treat Her Sick Granddaughter Because of Concern for Trump’s Wellbeing

Deborah Birx, a member of Trump’s Coronavirus Task Force and one of two leading medical experts on the team, revealed on Monday that over the weekend she chose not to treat her sick 10 month old granddaughter who had a temperature of 105, because she didn’t want Trump or Pence to get sick.

“We need to take care of each other now as Americans. And I know they’re tough,” Birx said. “My grandchild of 10 months had a fever of 105 this weekend. I’m a doctor, and I couldn’t get there. So I’m trying to explain to my daughter how to listen to her lungs.”

“You could not get there?” Trump, 73, asked Birx as she was speaking.

“I could not go there!” Birx quipped back, prompting Trump to say, “Good, I’m glad to hear it.”

“I did not go there, because of you two,” Birx said in reference to Trump and Pence, 60. “I mean, you can’t take that kind of risk with leaders of the country.”

American Troops Pelted with Rotten Potatoes While Leaving Syria – Video

Thanks Dump… I mean, Trump!

Donald Trump tried pulling the wool over our eyes. The heat from the impeachment inquiry was too much for the orange guy in the White House, so removing the Kurds’ protection by ordering US troops out of Syria was nothing more than an attempt to cast our attention to the expected chaos that ensued – the intentional displacement of thousands and the hundreds of Kurds who have already lost their lives in the process.

Today, as our troops began leaving our Kurdish friends behind, the disgust in Trump’s decision was shown as Kurds threw rotten vegetables at the Americans.

Shepard Smith Leaves Fox News

Shep Smith is probably the only Fox News personality quoted on this blog site. He was one of the only Fox personality who, on many occasions, stood up against Donald Trump and his Republican minions. With him gone, Fox News will drift even more right, something I didn’t think was even possible.

From The Hollywood Reporter;

In a shocking turn of events that stunned the media industry, Fox News anchor Shepard Smith announced his departure from the network after more than 23 years on Friday afternoon.

Smith is one of the faces of the network’s news division and one of its most important journalistic assets. The decision was Smith’s, Fox News said.

“Recently I asked the company to allow me to leave Fox News and begin a new chapter,” Smith said. “After requesting that I stay, they graciously obliged. The opportunities afforded this guy from small town Mississippi have been many. It’s been an honor and a privilege to report the news each day to our loyal audience in context and with perspective, without fear or favor. I’ve worked with the most talented, dedicated and focused professionals I know and I’m proud to have anchored their work each day — I will deeply miss them.”

Eric Garner’s Killer Now Fired from NYPD

NBC News reports that Daniel Pantaleo, the New York City police officer seen on video using a chokehold during Eric Garner’s deadly arrest five years ago, sparking mass protests, was fired by the department, the police commissioner said Monday.

An administrative judge this month recommended that Pantaleo be terminated over the July 17, 2014, confrontation as Garner was being arrested on Staten Island for selling loose, untaxed cigarettes.

Pantaleo, who has been with the NYPD since 2006, was suspended as soon as that departmental verdict was reached, in keeping with long-standing practice when there is a recommendation for firing. The 13-year veteran had been on desk duty as his case made its way through legal and administrative circles.

Police Detained Black Man for “Suspiciously” Looking at a White Woman – Video

The post appeared on Facebook.

Devin Myers just escaped being a statistic of the worst kind. He is one of the lucky ones to escaped being shot to death by police.

The black 20 year old man in Royal Oaks Michigan was on his way to a restaurant when a white woman called the police on him because “he looked at her suspiciously.” Police arrived and questioned the young man for over 20 minutes for committing the apparent crime of looking at someone… while being black that is.

Kimiko Adolph posted the video on Facebook, and explained; “This young man is stopped because a Caucasian lady said that he looked at her suspiciously and he has been pulled over walking going to eat by two police officers for suspicion of being black.”
