Poll Find Americans Blame Bush and The Republicans For The Economy

A new Poll released Thursday by The Associated Press/GFK found Americans placed the blame for the bad economy squarely on the backs of George Bush and the congressional Republicans. And rightly so. Under his watch, America went from a surplus to a deficit, mainly because of his trillion dollars tax cuts, engaging in two wars and his nonsensical medicare part D.

This is now the numbers from the poll breaks down:

  • Blames George Bush for the state of the economy? – 51% say it’s Bush’s fault.
  • Blames Republicans for the state of the economy? – 44% say Congressional Republicans are to be blame.
  • Blames Democrats for the state of the economy? –36% say it’s Congressional Democrats fault
  • Blames President Obama for the state of the economy? – 31% say it’s President Obama’s fault.
And even with this poll, it is amazing that Republicans are still trying to take the country back to the Bush years. What’s even more amazing is there are Americans out there who claim to love this country, but are willing to vote Republican in 2012.
That’s mind-boggling!

I'm just tired of the lies and nonsense coming from the GOP, so this is my little contribution to combat the nonsense!

I agree that there's a lot of blame to go around, but when Bush took office, you must admit the economy was pretty good. Then as he implemented his policies of tax cuts etc., things really fell apart. I think the American people got this one right. He is to be blamed.

You cannot blame one person for the effects of an entire country. There have been many involved in the downfall of our civilization. Military, scientists, politicians, mafia, over a long period of many years…What good does it do to point the finger? Blaming will not allow you to move forward.
Action is what's needed. Talk is cheap. You are wasting your time…WASTING! Bush doesn't accept his severance pay. Neither does his father. Clintion accepts his $400,000 from us annually. Though he was a naughty boy, I do believe he was a good president. And you can't be good at everything.

10 years of the Bush era tax cuts, and people blame Obama. Look what it has gotten us, nothing but an hourglass economy, rich and poor and the middle class squeezed to the bottom.

The first term was bogus, they suspected tampering in Florida, but his brother Jed was governor at that time. There was also suspicion of the same thing in Indiana I think, but nothing was ever done about it.As far as I'm concerned, the crook should never have been elected either times.

His second election is very questionable and Americans need to wake up and push for investigations into vote tampering. I agree, that all perks need to be confiscated especially if we find out Bush did not deserve that second term.

Well it's about bloody time, however I've known this for a long time.Where were these people when all of this was going on? Have they just woke up to the truth? Have they finally came out of their denial state of mind? Did they not read the papers about jobs being sent over seas, or watch t v while it was being blasted on the boob tube? But the rally sad part about it is, he got re-elected so that he could continue to rape and pillage this country. Here's what I think should be done to him.All the benefits the the other presidents receive, e.g. round the clock security, pension, health and medical care, should be taken from him. And Cheney, Rumsfeld, and Rice too.. they were all in it together.
