Republican’s Response to Recent Shooting – “We Have to Protect the 2nd Amendment” – Video

Another week, another mass shooting. This time, in Thousand Oaks California where 12 people fell to a gunman. Reporters are interviewing members of Congress to find out if there anything anyone can do to reduce the senseless deaths of innocent Americans.

Marsha Blackburn is one of these congressional members. Blackburn recently won the opportunity to represent the people of Tennessee, was interviewed on Fox News today and asked about the mass-shooting. And sticking true to form, the Republican began her answer not talking about the lost souls, but instead about protecting the NRA and the 2nd Amendment.

“What we do is say how do make certain that we protect the 2nd Amendment.” Blackburn then went on to talk about mental health, as if mentally challenged individuals are the only ones committing mass murder in this country.

And if you thought Blackburn mentioned anything about guns or the need to have sensible background checks for people buying guns, you would, of course, be wrong.

But, you already know that.

One thing is sure. Republicans will continue protecting the NRA and guns over the lives of American citizens, as we wait for the next mass shooting.

Caught on Camera – Republican Cannot Say How Christians are being Persecuted in America – Video

It is a regular talking-point for Republican lawmakers to keep their base afraid, to fool their base into thinking Democrats are against them and are actively doing everything possible to crucify them and their beliefs.

But when Rep. Marsha Blackburn tried to repeat this lie again – that Christians are being persecuted here in America – she did not anticipate a follow-up question from a very inquisitive reporter.

“Can you be specific about the instances in which you feel that Christians are being persecuted?” a reporter inquires of Blackburn.

“You know, there have been several lately. There’ve. Um. I can’t give you a specific (pause) right off the cuff,” Blackburn shrugs. “I’m sorry.”

Then Blackburn smiles, turns away from the reporter, looks back toward the camera, and says, “Yeah. Thanks.”

Marsha Blackburn, Is That Your Final Answer? – Video

If report did their basic jobs and report the facts, instead of being avenues where Republicans go to practice their talking points without being challenged, Americans would be in the much better position.

Here’s an example.  On CNN, host Carol Costello asked a very basic question to Republican Congresswoman and talking-points extraordinaire, Marsha Blackburn.

Since hundreds of thousands of Americans began signing up for healthcare at the beginning of October, Republicans have manufactured a new talking point to scare off the new enrollees. They are now claiming that people would have to turn over personal information to be federal government, before getting Obamacare.

Blackburn went on CNN expecting a microphone and a camera to push the new lie, but instead, she was met with a reporter who wasn’t afraid to ask a question.

Watch the mumbles and fumbles and the stringing together of various incoherent sentences, as Marsha tried to weasel your way out of the situation.

Piers Morgan Battles Marsha Blackburn Over Republican’s Government Shutdown – Video

Ladies and gentlemen, Marsha Blackburn, a member of the trusted Republican party, went on CNN’s Piers Morgan show and continued showing just how puny her brain is. The two went at it when it came to who should be blamed for the 16 days government shutdown and they went at it when Blackburn insisted that the Republicans shut down the government “for the American people.”

Morgan asked Blackburn if the government shutdown was done with Americans and the world economy in mind or was it done to further Ted Cruz’s political ambitions, to which Marsha answered, “we shouldn’t talk about personalities,” before she rambled on.

“Oh come off it Marsha!” Morgan injected. He then asked about the debt ceiling and wondered what Marsha would be doing to avoid America going into default.

Blackburn answered that she didn’t want to see the nation default then went on about her plans to talk with fellow Republicans to see what could be done to avoid a default. She then said that “every economists around here” tells her that we have to get in control of the debt. Morgan hit back, “every economists around here tells me what is going on is utter nonsense, and should never have gotten this far.”

Morgan went on, “there are many issues to deal with, Obamacare, the American economy and all sorts of things. What you don’t do is shut the government down over what is a law.”

Republicans Lining Up Against Raising The Minimum Wage

Marsha Blackburn

You can add Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., to the list of Republicans who oppose an increase in the federal minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $9.00 an hour.

In an interview on the Daily Rundown Thursday, Rep. Blackburn told Chuck Todd she was against the President’s proposal to up the minimum wage.

“I think that basically what the President is saying is ‘we want individuals to make more.’ I’m not for raising the minimum wage and I’ll tell you why, you’re going to exclude a lot of younger workers,” said Rep. Blackburn. “Why would you take a step that is going to make it difficult for employers to hire people?”

Blackburn’s announcement comes as President Obama continues to push a slew of politically popular initiatives this week with a stop at an Atlanta area pre-school to highlight his call for universal pre-k on Thursday, and a trip to Chicago—where gun control will likely be a major topic on Friday. The Tennessee Republican joins House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., in speaking out against a minimum wage increase since the president’s announcement at the State of the Union on Tuesday.
