8 Year Old Flint Resident Writes Obama, Obama Responds

Mari Copeny, an eight year old resident in Flint Michigan who was affected by Republican Governor Rick Snyder’s decision to use led contaminated pipes for Flint’s water system,  wrote a letter to President Obama and got a response from the leader of the free world.

Hello my name is Mari Copeny and I’m 8 years old, I live in Flint, Michigan and I’m more commonly known around town as “Little Miss Flint”. I am one of the children that is effected by this water, and I’ve been doing my best to march in protest and to speak out for all the kids that live here in Flint. This Thursday I will be riding a bus to Washington, D.C. to watch the congressional hearings of our Governor Rick Snyder. I know this is probably an odd request but I would love for a chance to meet you or your wife. My mom said chances are you will be too busy with more important things, but there is a lot of people coming on these buses and even just a meeting from you or your wife would really lift people’s spirits. Thank you for all that do for our country. I look forward to being able to come to Washington and to be able to see Gov. Snyder in person and to be able to be in the city where you live.

Thank You
Mari Copeny

DNC Almost Kicked Mayor out Of Democratic Debate Because he Supports Sanders

Buzzfeed is reporting that Jim Fouts of Warren Michigan was almost kicked out of Sunday’s Democratic debate in Flint MI, because he showed support for Bernie Sanders. Fouts, who was sitting behind Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, said he was complimenting Sen. Bernie Sanders. But staffers for the DNC said Fouts was “being very disruptive.”

The mayor said he and his assistant were pulled aside by security during a commercial break and were told that people had asked for him to be removed.

“The sergeant-at-arms said, ‘The people that run this want you ejected, they don’t want you here,’” Fouts said.

When asked if it was Wasserman Schultz making the request, Fouts said, “The security guy said, ‘Don’t say I said it.’”

Fouts, an Independent mayor who attended both the Republican and Democratic debates in his home state, commented on the noticeable differences between the two events.

Rick Snyder Admits he Knew About Flint’s Water Catastrophe Since Last Sunmer

In a wide wide-ranging interview with the National Journal, Governor Rick Snyder of Michigan admitted that he knew about the water contamination in Flint since last year. But the Republican governor also said that although he knew about the dangerous leadi levels in Flint’s water supply, he was not stepping down from office because he wants to “solve this problem.”

A problem he wilfully created, mind you.

The Journal reports;

“It’s a disaster,” he said when asked about the comparison some critics have made to the 2005 natural disaster in New Orleans that became a symbol of government mismanagement—city, state, and federal. “It’s clearly a negative on what we’ve accomplished since I’ve been governor.”

In a wide-ranging interview on the eve of his state of the state address, Snyder said he knew last summer about his top aide’s concerns that Flint residents were “getting blown off” by the Michigan’s Department of Environmental Quality. The MDEQ waved off his office’s concerns, Snyder said. He accepted responsibility for the lack of adequate follow up, but the twice-elected GOP governor said he would not heed calls for his resignation.

“I want to solve this problem,” Snyder said. “I don’t want to walk away from it.” Both MDEQ’s director and chief spokesman were forced to resign, and Snyder has taken several steps—albeit belatedly—to help Flint identify the extent of the contamination and to respond to it. He said more action will be revealed in Tuesday night’s address

Michael Moore Wants Rick Snyder Arrested for Poisoning Kids in Flint

Why? Because of this insane plan by the ruling Republican party in Michigan to take away the people’s voice to save money.

Michael Moore explains this further in the video below, but their plan was to void the people’s vote by installing appointed officials to run the city, instead of those who were elected. One of these Snyder appointed officials thought that the people of Flint Michigan would be better served if they drank water from the Flint River instead of getting their water supplied from Michigan.

Almost immediately, doctors in Flint and other researchers told the Snyder administration that high levels of lead were found and the children of Flint, but their concerns fell on deaf ears as Snyder stuck with his appointed official to save money.

To hell with the kids.
