They’ve Seen The Light. Republicans Now Agree With President

They’re finally beginning to wake up. Republicans are finally realizing that a never-ending war in Iraq will take us further off the path to peace and economic prosperity for America.

Last week, we brought you a Gallop poll that found only 43% of Republicans agreed with the President’s decision to bring all our troops home. This week however, they have apparently seen the light as this new CBS poll shows – a majority of Republicans are now on board with the President’s decision.

Three in four Americans support President Obama’s decisions to withdraw U.S. troops from Iraq by the end of the year, a new CBS News survey finds. Seventy-seven percent approve of the decision, including 63 percent of Republicans. Just 17 percent disapprove.

The position appears to be grounded in a sense that America made a mistake in entering Iraq in the first place. Sixty-seven percent of Americans say the result of the Iraq war was not worth the loss of American life and other costs associated with the war, while just 24 percent say it was worth it. Republicans are more likely to say the war was worth the costs, but even among Republicans, one in two say it was not worth it.

Gitmo Prison Called “The Most Expensive Prison On Earth!”

Where are all the Republicans and Conservatives now? They argued and they picketed over the issue of over-spending in Washington, but when it comes to the expenditures that the Bush Administration racked regarding Gitmo Prison on Guantanamo Bay, the Conservatives are curiously missing in action.

A report claims that for each prisoner housed at Gitmo,  American taxpayers dole out $800,000.00 a year!

Guards get combat pay, just like troops in Afghanistan, without the risk of being blown up. Some commanders get to bring their families to this war-on-terror deployment. And each captive gets $38.45 worth of food a day.

The Pentagon detention center that started out in January 2002 as a collection of crude open-air cells guarded by Marines in a muddy tent city is today arguably the most expensive prison on earth, costing taxpayers $800,000 annually for each of the 171 captives by Obama administration reckoning.

That’s more than 30 times the cost of keeping a captive on U.S. soil.

It’s still funded as an open-ended battlefield necessity, although the last prisoner arrived in March 2008. But it functions more like a gated community in an American suburb than a forward-operating base in one of Afghanistan’s violent provinces.

Congress, charged now with cutting $1.5 trillion from the budget by Christmas, provided $139 million to operate the center last year, and has made every effort to keep it open — even as a former deputy commander of the detention center calls it “expensive” and “inefficient.”

Not only is Gitmo “expensive” and “inefficient,” it is also one of the main reasons America has lost its reputation of a just and fair nation around the world. When pictures of the tortured and mistreated detainees surfaced, our perceived moral superiority in the world faded, and the pictures were used by terrorists to foster more hate against the United States.

You will be correct to assume that this wasteful money vacuüm called Gitmo, would be the foundation for the Teaparty/Republicans/Conservatives, rallying cry against unnecessary government spending. But they, of course, could not substantiate that  arguement.

If Gitmo was the brainchild of a Democratic president and this same report surfaced, the Teaparty would have chartered boats, swam, anything and everything possible to get their members to the Cuban island. They would have shown up carrying misspelled signs calling attention to the wasteful spending of the Federal government.

This would have been covered by Fox News, and the ridiculously high amount of money spent every year since 2002 on the small amount of prisoners, would have been the viral talking point of every personality on the Fake News agency. But Gitmo is not the brainchild of a Democratic president, it is the creation of a Republican president, and that is where the so-called Conservatives draw their line determining which type of administration  gets their approval for “government spending.”

If its done by a Republican, then it’s okay. Republicans call it “necessary spending” –  a valiant effort to keep the nation safe. But no matter how they try to spin it, $800,000.00 per prisoner is insanity, and if anyone is really concerned about government spending, it will make sense to close this prison and use these funds in a more productive way, like say – here in America.

Colin Powell Is In Favor Of The Occupy Movement

He is probably the smartest Republican alive today, and in a world where crazy people get to be the toast-of-the-town and are selected to run for the Republican party’s nomination for President, one wonders why a man of Colin Powell’s intelligence still calls himself a Republican.

In an interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan, Powell spoke favorably of the Occupy Wall Street Movement, a movement other Republicans have gone out of their way to ostracize.

The Occupy Wall Street demonstrations are “as American as apple pie,” former Secretary of State Colin Powell said during a recent interview with CNN’s Piers Morgan. According to Powell, there is plenty of justification for the movement’s outrage, but also some reason for concern over its direction.

Powell began by recalling his upbringing in Harlem and the Bronx at a time when his parents didn’t make much, but were at least able to find stable employment.

“I don’t think either of them ever made more than 50 or 60 dollars a week,” Powell said. “Both my parents worked for as long as I can remember, they always worked, they always had work.”

But this sort of job stability is no longer present, the retired four-star Army general said, a fact that is now serving as a catalyzing force for the Occupy movement.

It is time to leave the Republican Asylum Mr. Powell. Your talents and wisdom cannot be appreciated by a group of people who are willing to bury this country just to make the President fail.

Come on over, there’s plenty of room here.

Police Brutality Against OccupyBerkeley Students

More police brutality on American citizens, exercising their right to peacefully assembly and protest. The students at Berkeley showed their support for OccupyWall Street by forming OccupyBerkeley, only to have the stuffing knocked out of them by the very group who took an oath to protect and to serve them. A true example of how citizens who have a common cause are pitted against each other to generate animosity between the two to keep them enemies.

In the video we hear these American students screaming, “stop beating students!”

What about the Bill of Rights?

Don’t Mess With The Hungry Deadbeat Republican Congressman Joe Walsh

Can’t a  a guy  get a break? Republican Congressman Joe Walsh has had a lot on his mind lately. His wife has filed a lawsuit against him for over $115,000.00 for 9 years of back child support, he was hungry and had drank a lot of coffee. So having a town hall meeting on this particular day with the very people who elected him to Congress was just a little too much for the hungry, deadbeat dad and his constituents got an earful.

Maybe they should have fed him first.

Michele Bachmann Meets Occupy Wall Street – The Encounter

Michele Bachmann, one of the Republicans trying to become the nominee to take on President Obama in the 2012 Presidential election, was doing what she does best, giving a speech about something she knows nothing about- in this case, foreign policies.

Then, in a manner of communication perfected by seasoned protesters, someone – believed to be from the Occupy Wall Street movement – began a call and response chant for several minutes, saying “Mike check. This will only take a minute. We have a message for Ms. Bachmann.”

The chant and response continued, and the message was delivered. Audience members tried shouting the protesters down, but the messengers continued until Bachmann was briefly escorted from the podium.

She later returned and continued her speech, first commenting on something else she’s shown she knows little about – the first amendment.

Oops! Rick Perry Did It Again – Video

OMG!

Rick Perry might as well pack it up and leave the race for the Republican nominee. As a matter of fact, after tonight’s performance in the debate, he might as well pack it up and leave America. I’m sure we produce more intelligent people in this country to run as a presidential candidate than the Rickstar… well, with the exception of George Bush.

This was a planned debate. Every Republican contender knew that on November 9th, 2012, they would be on stage and asked to describe why they and their policies are different from those of their fellow Republican competitors. Every other contender studied, dotted their i’s, and crossed their t’s. They had their talking points down and were able to spew their nonsense without even thinking, but what exactly was Rick Perry doing to prepare?

Apparently, absolutely nothing if he simply couldn’t remember his own three policy proposals.

And this man wants to be president of the United States? HAH!!!

Poor-Man Romney Says Government Employees Making More Than He Is

With all you government workers making hundreds of millions of dollars a year, you will expect the economy to be a lot better than it is now. You will also expect everyone to drop their present jobs and flock to the government for jobs.  After all, why would anyone settle for anything less than $35 million a year!

According to Mitt Romney, who made up to $37.5 million in 2010,  government employees are making “a lot more money” than he is. Speaking at a fabrication plant on Monday, Romney targeted government employees, saying that if he becomes president, he will reduce the work force by 10%.

Wearing his best plaid work shirt and Tommy Bahama blue jeans, the candidate explained to workers at Giese Manufacturing that he would slash the number of federal employees if elected.

“We have to cut back on the scale of the federal government,” Romney declared. “And for me that will start by reducing federal employees by 10 percent. You do that through attrition.”

“And then something else that is just as important, and that’s to make sure the people who work for government don’t get better pay and better benefits than people that work in the private sector.”

He added: “The tax payers shouldn’t have to have money taken out of their pay checks to pay people in government who are our servants who are making a lot more money than we are.”

It’s a good thing we have the poor-man Romney looking out for us, having his finger on the pulse of exactly who is bringing down the economy – at last check, Romney was worth over $250 million. But that was about two hours ago. We’re sure a few more millions were added since then.

Occupy Wall Street To March To Washington D.C

Wednesday will be a great day to start a 240 mile march.

A small group of activists plan to leave Manhattan’s Zuccotti Park at noon Wednesday with hopes of arriving in Washington D.C. on Nov. 23. That is the deadline for a congressional committee to decide whether to keep President Barack Obama’s extension of tax cuts enacted under former President George W. Bush. Protesters say the cuts benefit only rich Americans.

Kelly Brannon is organizing the 240-mile march with a dozen others. They hope to pick up supporters along the way. They liken the effort to long-distance walks led by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. during the Civil Rights Movement.

Rush Limbaugh Mocks Herman Cain’s Victim

Rush Limbaugh is a sick pathetic little man, but that’s not news to anyone. So hearing how he made fun of a woman who just described how she was sexually attacked by Herman Cain, did not surprise me. I actually expected it from Rush.

What is surprising is the fact that Rush Limbaugh is still followed by most Republicans, especially those in Congress. Rush Limbaugh is the voice of these Republicans, and as their voice, Rush used the name of the victim to suggest a sexual act. Her name is Sharon Bialek, but the  Voice of the Republicans said, “It’s Buy-A-Lick, As In [Slurping Sound] Buy-A-Lick.”

Amazing!

Our Blacks vs Their Blacks – A Conservative Point Of View

Republican Ann Coulter said it last week while tripping over herself to defend Herman Cain from the recent sexual harassment claims, “Our blacks are so much better than their blacks” she said, because “you have fought against probably your family, probably your neighbors. . . that’s why we have very impressive blacks.”

We know, these people makes no sense. But trying to understand how Republicans think about black people, we found the illustration below.

This must be what they’re talking about.
