Chris Christie – No Refugees in New Jersey, Especially “Orphans under 5 years old”

Tough-talking Chris Christie showed his breaking point Monday when he interviewed by phone with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, and expressed his concern for Syrian refugees coming to his state. And as far as Christie goes, he’s not having any of these people in New Jersey, not even “orphans under 5!”

“I do not trust this administration to effectively vet the people who are proposed to be coming in in order to protect the safety and security of the American people, so I would not permit them in,” Christie said.

Hewitt then asked, “What if they were orphans under the age of 5?”

“You know, Hugh, we can come up with 18 different scenarios. The fact is that we need appropriate vetting, and I don’t think orphans under 5 should be admitted into the United States at this point. You know, they have no family here. How are we going to care for these folks?” Christie said. “The fact is, you can come up with a number of different scenarios, Hugh, but in the end, I don’t trust this administration to effectively vet the people that they’re asking us to take in. We need to put the safety and security of the American people first.”

The governors of Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Texas, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Massachusetts have gone further as to move formally to block refugees from relocating into their states – at least for now.

It should be noted that governors cannot turn people away from their state. They simply cannot say who can and cannot come in.

CNN Anchors Want Muslims to Take Responsibility for ISIS’s Attack in Paris – Video

I don’t know what to say about CNN anymore. Recently, because of the nonsense from Don Lemon, an online petition was circulated demanding his firing. Now, after the horrible ISIS attacks in Paris, two CNN anchors asked a Muslim why that community didn’t know or report the attack before it happened!

“Why is it that no one within the Muslim community there in France knew what these guys were up to?” asked CNN anchor John Vause as he interviewed Yasser Louati, a representative for the Collective Against Islamophobia in France. “Because it seems to me that this was a pretty big plan. Surely someone beyond the seven guys who’ve been killed over the last 48 hours would have to have known something and that was probably within the Muslim community but yet no one said anything.”

“Sir, the Muslim community has nothing to do with these guys,” Louati replied, “Nothing. We cannot justify ourselves for the actions of someone who just claims to be Muslim. Our secret services knew about these guys and, again, just like during the January attacks, it turns out they were all on a black list somewhere somehow on a desk. So right now we can’t take responsibility for anything.”

But the anchor and his co-anchor refused that argument and the conversation, no, the accusation continued for almost six minutes as the anchors insisted that someone in the Muslim community should have known and reported the planned ISIS attack.

Fox’s Shep Smith Slams “Extremest” Governors Refusing Refugees – Video

I’ve said this about Fox’s Shep Smith before, that he is working on the wrong network. Now, there are times when Shep toes the line and push the Republican talking points, then there are times when he goes out on a limb all by himself and, yes, speak the truth!

Since the terrorist attacks in Paris and the revelation that one of the attackers made their way into France as a refugee, there have been much talk, primarily among Republican presidential candidates and some governors, that America should turn away any and all refugees from Syria. And it was totally expected that the hosts at Fox News will mindlessly push that talking-point, but there goes Shep again, stepping out on another limb.

“In the face of terror, will we panic, or be calm and deliberative in approach? Confronted with those who want to change our way of life, will we abandon our freedoms and the rights granted to us by the Creator? Or will we welcome huddle masses yearning to breathe free?”

Smith of course is talking about the Republican presidential candidates and the 15 or so governors, primarily Republican governors, promising to reject any refugee sent to their state. Shep continued;

“Our shining city on a hill is vulnerable. We’ve always known that. If we change it to accommodate the savages, have they won? And what then would be left to protect? We profess to stand as an example for all the world. Our unique experiment in freedom, tolerance, openness, and equality is our gift to societies and peoples everywhere. Come, join us. Enjoy a chance at the American dream. Today, we mourn, but we cannot allow ourselves to become like those who want to destroy us. We cannot resort to the tactics of the barbarians. We must fight for what we believe in and who we are, guard our freedoms faithfully for the generations to follow. And we must not let the rhetoric of potential and political extremists among us lead us to self-destruction. When there’s panic, we show resolve. When there’s calm for extremism, we resist. We are America. We must lead.”

Charlie Sheen to Announce That He’s HIV Positive

I’m sure a lot of people will be running to the doctor to get their check ups after hearing what Charlie Sheen has to say.

Hollywood hellion Charlie Sheen is HIV-positive and will reveal his status in a shock announcement on NBC’s “Today” show Tuesday morning.

Sheen, 50, will speak to NBC’s Matt Lauer live in studio to deliver his news, a source told the Daily News Monday.

In a separate report Monday, The National Enquirer said Sheen has been safeguarding his HIV status for years while living a high-profile life as a TV star, dating a conga line of adult entertainers and coining crazy catchphrases.

“Charlie thought he was indestructible and took no precautions — even though he was indulging in high-risk sex practices,” an unidentified friend reportedly told The Enquirer

Giants’ Victor Cruz Out for The Season

There will be no post-bye help coming to the Giants from Victor Cruz, the NY Post Reports.

The one-time star receiver will miss the entire 2015 season, he announced Monday, as he heads for surgery to repair a left calf injury that somehow short-circuited his comeback from the major knee surgery that ended his 2014 season after only six games. The Giants hit their bye week at 5-5, in first place in the NFC East, and were anticipating Cruz getting on the field for the stretch run.

Not gonna happen.

“It’s a tough time for me, it’s a tough time for my family, a tough time for all of us because we were so excited about coming back and being a part of something special this year and being a special player individually,’’ Cruz said in a video posted on Bleacher Report. “But unfortunately I couldn’t do that this year due to my calf injury. It’s out of my control. There’s certain things that just happen to your body that you can’t explain. But I’m excited for the next chapter, I’m excited for the process, I’m addicted to the process of getting better, getting back to 100 percent, feeling the energy of my teammates, feeling the energy of being back on the field again.

“I hope you guys don’t lose faith in me because I haven’t lost faith in myself. So see you guys next year. Peace.’’

No one saw this coming after Cruz made such a strong return from the ruptured patella tendon, making his way into the start of training camp, showing no ill effects of the knee surgery. He left the practice on Aug. 17 with what was described as a strained left calf muscle. Incredibly, that seemingly minor injury led to this. Cruz returned to practice on Sept. 28, but had to shut himself down almost immediately when the calf did not respond well to the minimal work he put in on the field.

Does This Mean War?

I’m being a bit of a coward by posing my title as a question, but I do firmly believe that the western world is headed towards a much larger, more coordinated and, ultimately, more deadly military conflict. If it sounds like war, smells like war, destroys like war, breeds intolerance like war, then it must be a war.

And we’re in one.

I fear that there are more attacks coming in places that think they’re prepared, but are not. After all, Vladimir Putin thought he was going to help Assad in Syria and escape the fate that has befallen the United States, France and Great Britain. He was wrong, and 224 Russians savagely and tragically lost their lives. The French have been attacked twice this year. Israel is under constant threat.Who’s next?

I went on Facebook on Friday night after reading about the attacks and saw many people who had attached the peace sign with the Eiffel Tower in it, the French flag, and pictures of the people I know from their Paris vacations. But I also saw some vitriolic hatred directed towards all Muslim, and I mean ALL Muslims, even though they are not terrorists, and I saw the requisite number of posts calling President Obama a Muslim and blaming him for this, and seemingly every other attack, whether it was on US soil or not. It’s still gauche, evidently, to blame GW Bush for September 11, but blaming Obama for an attack on Paris is de rigueur, at least among a certain segment of the population.

Foreign policy will be a key factor in the upcoming presidential election and the GOP field had better begin focusing on policies other than building a very high wall on the Mexican border, throwing people out of the country and reestablishing the fortress America that served us so badly from 1924 to 1965. It also means that Bernie Sanders had better come up with a foreign policy plank that offers Democrats a choice between him and Hillary Clinton. Obviously, she has the most experience in the field by a wide margin. She’s got to make Americans believe that she can keep us safe, but engaged in the world. We need to stay strong.

My heart goes out to those who lost a loved one or who was injured in the attacks. The world has now shifted.

“The Adventures of Young Ben Carson” – Watch the Knife Attack – Video

The casts of Saturday Night Live reenacted some of the stories of Ben Carson from his teenage years. The stories came from Carson’s own writings, writings that have dominated the news over the last few weeks.

In the reenactment, we see a young Ben Carson getting so angry, so mad that he tried to kill a man with a knife only to see the man still standing, saved by his belt buckle. And the story about a young Ben Carson going after his mother with a hammer? Yea, that too was reenacted by the talented cast at SNL.

Watch.

Stephen Colbert’s Speechless Moment in Announcing the Paris Attacks – Video

At the end of taping his show on Friday, Stephen Colbert broke the news to his audience in a heartfelt announcement that almost seemed to bring the host to tears.

“Folks, we end tonight’s show with a heavy heart because we taped all of tonight’s show, and then we found out about the horrific attacks in Paris today. I know not much is known right now. We do know there have been many deaths and the crisis is still ongoing.

“President Hollande declared a state of emergency and President Obama has promised that the United States will do whatever it takes to bring those terrorists to justice. We add our thoughts and prayers to everyone in Paris.”

“And now, we’ll see you on Monday,” Colbert said, looking off to the side then sighing, before saying, “Goodnight.”

Saturday Night Live Pays Tribute to The People of Paris – Video

The eloquent and moving tribute was simple, yet profound. It happened at the beginning of the show and came from cast-member, Cecily Strong.

“Paris is the City of Light,” she said, “and here in New York City, we know that light will never go out. Our love and support is with everyone there tonight. We stand with you.” She then said the same thing in French before issuing the usual, “And now, live from New York, it’s Saturday Night Live!”

Carly Fiorina Defends Ben Carson From Donald Trump’s Venom – Trump Fires Back

Hey, did you hear about the crazy 95 minute harangue by Donald Trump the other night? In it, Trump attacked everybody, but he especially had some choice words to say about Ben Carson, comparing him to a child molester.

Crazy, yea I know. Trump thought that because Carson mentioned in one of his books that he was pathologically violent when he was a teenager, Trump thought that was the same as being a child molester!

The soft-spoken Carson was not going to stand up to Trump, so Carly Fiorina decided to do it for him.

“Donald, sorry, I’ve got to interrupt again,” she wrote, referencing Trump’s protestations that she ‘interrupts everybody’ during the most recent GOP debate.

“You would know something about pathological. How was that meeting with Putin? Or Wharton? Or your self funded campaign? Anyone can turn a multi-million dollar inheritance into more money, but all the money in the world won’t make you as smart as Ben Carson.”

Fiorina’s post garnered more than 27,000 times. Trump responded in a series of five tweets on his Twitter account, telling Fiorina to apologize repeatedly.

“Carly, not just you, I also told Gov. Kasich to “let Jeb talk, give him a chance” because Kasich was constantly cutting in,” he wrote.

Less than a minute later, he wrote “Carly—I did graduate from Wharton and did very well. Who is your fact checker? Will you apologize?”

“Ben Carson said in his own book that he has a pathological temper (and) pathological disease. I didn’t say it, he did. Apology?”

“I only said I was on (“60 Minutes”) four weeks ago with Putin—never said I was in Green Room. Separate pieces—great ratings!”

“(Fiorina) had to inject herself into my factual statements concerning Ben Carson in order to breathe life into her failing campaign!”

Liz Cheney Used Paris’ Terrorist Attack to Attack President Obama

It’s almost as if she was sitting at her computer waiting to tweet something terrible about President Obama. Just moments after the terrorist attacks in started in Paris, Liz Cheney, daughter of the former vice president Dick Cheney, went on Twitter to blame president Obama for the attacks.

In a blatantly sick political attack on the president, Cheney tweeted, ISIS attacks Paris hours after @BarackObama claims he has “contained” them, just like he “defeated” all Qaeda and “ended the war” in Iraq.

I’m absolutely sure her father and the Republican base wholeheartedly approve of her tweet that happened when more than 150 people were being slaughtered. But not everyone appreciated Cheney’s sick political attack on the president. And they made sure to tell her about it.
