Wednesday will be a great day to start a 240 mile march.
A small group of activists plan to leave Manhattan’s Zuccotti Park at noon Wednesday with hopes of arriving in Washington D.C. on Nov. 23. That is the deadline for a congressional committee to decide whether to keep President Barack Obama’s extension of tax cuts enacted under former President George W. Bush. Protesters say the cuts benefit only rich Americans.
Kelly Brannon is organizing the 240-mile march with a dozen others. They hope to pick up supporters along the way. They liken the effort to long-distance walks led by the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. during the Civil Rights Movement.
