Richard Sherman’s Class Act Response to Persistent Twitter Troll

Though Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman became a household name for his aggressive smack-talk in a post-game interview with Erin Andrews, the NFL star, fresh off a Super Bowl win, shut down a Twitter troll with no more than a smile on Tuesday.

After Sherman tweeted some kind words to Super Bowl competitor and Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, one angry Twitter user harassed Sherman online, calling him a “disingenuous punk” and “nasty scumbag.”

“Everyone who heard you dissing Manning before knows you don’t mean a damn word of this, you pathetic, disingenuous punk,” said user @SnBEternally in one tweet, following it up with two more tweets:
Take your phony praise and shove it up your drugged out ass, you worthless scumbag.

Seattle beat Denver, but you contributed nothing and got carted off with an injury. Karma’s a NASTY bitch, needle Dick! 😛

Sherman, who had been thanking his fans on Twitter, took a moment to respond to the troll, too:
