EBay follows in Walmart’s footsteps in banning a racist merchandise like the confederate flag from its site.
“We have decided to prohibit Confederate flags, and many items containing this image, because we believe it has become a contemporary symbol of divisiveness and racism,” eBay spokesperson Johnna Hoff said in an email to CNN. “This decision is consistent with our long-standing policy that prohibits items that promote or glorify hatred, violence and racial intolerance.”
Hoff added that the company continually monitors and evaluates its 800 million products on its site to ensure that they are “consistent with our core purpose.”
The leader of a white supremacist group that apparently influenced Dylann Roof, the suspect in the killing of nine African-Americans in a Charleston, S.C., church last week, has donated tens of thousands of dollars to Republican campaigns, including those of 2016 presidential contenders such as Ted Cruz, Rick Santorum and Rand Paul, the New York Times reports.
Mr. Cruz, a Texas senator, said Sunday night that he would be returning about $8,500 in donations that he had received from the Texas donor, Earl Holt III, who lists himself as president of the Council of Conservative Citizens.
“We just learned this evening that Mr. Holt had contributed to the campaign,” a spokesman for the Cruz campaign said in an email to The New York Times. “We will be immediately refunding all those donations.”
Mr. Paul’s campaign said it planned to send $2,250 received from Mr. Holt to a victims’ fund set up in the wake of the shooting.

“RandPAC is donating the funds to the Mother Emanuel Hope Fund to assist the victims families,” said Sergio Gor, a spokesman for the campaign. Mr. Holt made four separate donations to the Paul campaign last year, records show. The campaign could not confirm the total received but said that all the money it identified from the white supremacist leader would be donated to the fund.

He sat in their midst in a South Carolina Church for over an hour as they showed him love and held a Bible study. Then, Dylann Roof stood up and murdered nine human beings in Church as they worshiped God. The last thing these people heard from their murderer was his racist rants about his hate for black people.
But the love and the forgiveness of the families of the nine is outstanding and something admirable. This forgiveness is something the rest of this nation and the world can learn from. The killer, Dylann Roof, is shown on video in his bail hearing when one by one, the remaining families and friends of those he murdered, forgave him for murdering their loved ones.
If a place was going to do it, it had to be Texas. But hold on to your horses, don’t go riding off into the sunset just yet. It seems these signs, displayed on various stores and restaurants, are the work of a few racist people and not sanctioned by the city of Austin ot anyone in power – at least that’s what Austin’s mayor, Steve Adler, said.
“This is an appalling and offensive display of ignorance in our city,” Adler said in a statement. “Austin condemns this type of hurtful behavior. Our city is a place where respect for all people is a part of our spirit and soul. We will keep it that way.”
Bearing a striking resemblance to the official logo of the Texas capital, the stickers demands that only a “maximum of five colored customers” are allowed in the store at any given time with exception given of course, to “colored” store employees. And below that, the words… “sponsored by the City of Austin” is proudly displayed.
At least eight stores showed the sticker. They have since took those stickers down.
Of course we have a black president and yes, it is 2015. But there are those who are intent on keeping racism alive and they are doing their best to pass their horrid thinking on to the next generation.
Parents of a young girl have spoken of their shock after their daughter received a letter from her classmate telling her she might not be allowed to attend her birthday sleepover because she is black.
A ten-year-old girl wrote the note for her friend Harmony Jones at a school in Memphis, Tennessee, after she was invited to her birthday celebrations, WREG reports.
The letter read: “Maybe I will not be able to go to your birthday sleepover because my dad will not let me go because you are black. Not trying to be races [sic], but my mom let me no [sic] Happy birthday!’
Local civil rights activist Lasimba Gray described the note as “regrettable” but said he hoped it could be used as a learning curve.
“Fifty-two years since the Dr. King ‘I have a dream speech,’ you would think that the basis for racism would disappear, but evidently it is being perpetuated by those who teach it,” he added.
Harmony’s father Christopher Jones said he was shocked that his daughter received a letter of this nature. “It angered me a little bit,” he told the network. “It hurt me that my 10-year-old girl had to deal with this, and I myself never thought I would have to deal with this.”
“I guess as parents we have to be more aware and more conscious of what we teach our children.”
The girl’s family has not commented on the letter.

Rodner Figueroa, the host of “El Gordo Y la Flaca,” said in Spanish, “You know Michelle Obama looks like she is of the cast of “The Planet Of The Apes” as he pointed to a photo of Obama. Figueroa made the comment in a segment about makeup artist Paolo Ballesteros.
Figueroa was quickly fired in response, according to NBC News.
Gawker is reporting that Benjamin Cole, Aaron Schock’s senior adviser for policy and communications, resigned this afternoon after a series of racially-charged Facebook posts—including one in which he compares black people to zoo animals—were obtained and published by ThinkProgress.
In another since-deleted post, Cole writes that he “thinks they should build a mosque on the White House grounds,” in an apparent dig at Obama.

The spokesman for rising Republican star Rep. Aaron Schock (R-IL) allegedly compared two black people to zoo animals in one of several racially charged Facebook posts, ThinkProgress reported Thursday.
Schock’s communications director Benjamin Cole posted a series of videos to his Facebook page in October 2013 that mocked black people walking outside his Washington, D.C. apartment, according to screenshots of the posts obtained by ThinkProgress.
The news website reported that one post, which included a video of a woman who appeared to be arguing with someone off-screen, read “so apparently the closing of the National Zoo has forced the animals to conduct their mating rituals on my street. #gentrifytoday Pt. 1.”
The race of the woman is unclear in the screenshot.
A second post reportedly read “#gentrifytoday Pt. 3. This is where she finds another glass bottle, and breaks it on their stoop to use as a weapon.” The race of the woman is also unclear from that screenshot.
In a more recent post dated Jan. 29, Cole allegedly described an experience he had with a black police officer when he went to file an assault report against a black woman he said threw an elbow at him on the street.
“‘Do you have a problem talking to me?’ That’s what the Black Metro police officer said to me when he began asking me to explain what happened,” Cole wrote, according to a screenshot of the post obtained by ThinkProgress.
Cole did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TPM on Thursday.

Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), the newly elected House majority whip, acknowledged Monday that he spoke at a gathering hosted by white nationalist leaders while serving as a state representative in 2002, thrusting a racial controversy into House Republican ranks days before the party assumes control of both congressional chambers.
The 48-year-old Scalise, who ascended to the House GOP’s third-ranking post earlier this year, confirmed through an adviser that he once appeared at a convention of the European-American Unity and Rights Organization.
That organization, founded by former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke, has been called a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
“Beyond hosting a Web site, whitecivilrights.com, and staging an occasional conference, EURO is a paper tiger, serving primarily as a vehicle to publicize Duke’s writing and sell his books,” the SPLC writes on its Web site.
In a statement, Scalise’s spokesperson Moira Bagley emphasized that the then-state lawmaker was unaware at the time of the group’s ideology and its association with racists and neo-Nazi activists.
The racist over at Fox News expressed his solution to all the problems black people face here in America. According to Bill O’Reilly, black people should learn to not get pregnant at 14 and, oh yea, black people don’t take care of their kids, so they need to learn to do that too!
O’Reilly’s guest was Martin Luther King III, the son of civil rights icon, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. And while discussing some of the problems faced by blacks, Martin Luther King III suggested that a unifying message is what America needs at this time of racial intolerance. But O’Reilly wasn’t about to preach a unifying message to anybody, he was more intent on proving how racist and ignorant he really is.
O’Reilly offered his solution for blacks in America – “Don’t abandon your children. Don’t get pregnant at 14. Don’t allow your neighborhoods to deteriorate into free-fire zones. That’s what the African American community should have on their T-shirts,” he said. You know, cause abandoning children and getting pregnant at 14 is definitely a black thing.
Why anyone goes on this idiot’s show is something I’ll never understand. But they go on anyway, and they sit through the idiocy as O’Reilly strokes his own… racist ego!
Cliven Bundy, the Nevada rancher who was dismissed earlier this year as a racist for his remarks about black people, thrust himself back into the political discourse this week with an apparent endorsement of a candidate for Congress in Nevada. The Congressional candidate is a black man named Kamau Bakari.
The odd couple is seen in an ad complaining about black people and political correctness, with Bundy claiming that he has done the hard work, has put his time in and should be allowed to say whatever he wants in this country. After all, FREEDOM!
“I worked my whole life without mistreating anybody,” Bundy said in the ad, “a man ought to be able to express himself without being called names.”
Kamau Bakari agreed with Bundy, calling him “a brave white man” for making his racist statements. He said Bundy was exactly what America needs to “put an end to this political correctness stuff!” Kamau then said he “is ashamed” when black folks talk about white folks, saying, “white folks this and white folks that, always begging.” And to that statement, Bundy answered, “it’s almost like black folks think white folks owe then something.”
Sidenote: In case you forgot, Bundy was chastised for saying that black people are on government subsidies and “they abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”
The two men then called out Eric Holder, labeling him a “race baiter.” They asked Holder to come to Nevada and talk with them, just like he did when he went to Ferguson. “Mr. Eric Holder, this is one white that’s not scared to talk about race,” Bundy says. “I dare you to come to Las Vegas and talk to us.”
Here is Drew Walker. A self proclaimed racist, a Teapartier, a Republican. Walker also calls himself a “true patriot,” who is willing to kill all who have the nerves and audacity, those who exercise their FREEDOM to have a different political ideology than he does. Those Liberal infidels must die, apparently.
This freedom loving Republican “patriot” is especially angry at the democratically elected president in the White House, a man he refers to as a
“worthless, f*cking Muslim goat-raping *ss.”
