Breaking – Mitt Romney Is Questioning President Obama’s Honesty… Yes, Mr Romnesia Himself!

Remember Mitt Romney? No? Well how about Mitt The Flip Flop Romney, remember him now? Yea? I thought so.

Mr. Flip Flop himself Went On Fox ‘ s Hannity show tonight and actually said that President Obama had lost “integrity and honesty” with the American people. Yes, you heard that right. Romney, the man who gained a reputation of saying one thing to the people on his right then saying the total opposite to those on his left has the nerve to talk about “integrity and honesty.”

And to answer your question, no, Sean Hannity did not burst out laughing at Romney’s performance. He actually managed to keep a straight face, seemed interested in the utter nonsense he was hearing. Hannity played the classic Fox News host, and egged Romney on with more leading questions.

“It’s a very difficult thing to try and reestablish a reputation for integrity and honesty if you’ve lost it in such a dramatic way,” Romney said.

Romney was talking about the now infamous claim by the President, “if you like your insurance you can keep it.” The president has since apologized for making that claim and explained what he meant. But Republicans, even those like Mitt The flip Romney – known for their lies and flip flops – have suddenly become engulfed in truth and morals, to the point where they think they can lecture the president.

What a charade! Their performance typical if the average Republican.

The Six Year Itch

From where I sit, last year was worse for the Republican Party and for progress than it ever was for President Obama. Yes, yes, I know what the conventional wisdom said about the president’s fifth year, but really, I don’t necessarily buy it. As a matter of fact, I think that when all is said and done by 2017, many people won’t even remember what the fuss was all about.

For example, the health care website was a dud in October and November, but as we speak, over 3 million people have signed up for health insurance through the portal and Medicaid, and the goal of signing up 7 million people by the end of March is eminently attainable. The Republican blahblahgosphere will say that not enough young, healthy people have signed up and that the death spiral will begin any time now, but since they’ve been wrong about everything related to the law (remember when the election of Scott Brown meant the end of the ACA?), why would we want to believe them now?

On immigration, the critics say that because there was no final bill last year that this was a failure for Obama. Not if we get a bill this year, and it’s looking more and more likely that we will. Not because it was a bad idea last year, but because the GOP has finally realized that they are national election toast of they don’t do something to help the Hispanic electorate that is running very quickly away from their party.

Likewise for the minimum wage, climate policy, appointees and foreign policy. In every one of these cases, the president won’t get Congress to sign on to his initiatives, but he’s laying the groundwork for later years or, most likely, for his successor who will most likely be a Democrat. At this point, Obama can do the most for this country by executive order and that’s what we’re likely to hear on Tuesday.

Most presidents, if they are remembered at all, are usually known for one or two major laws that transform the country. The ACA will be Obama’s main accomplishment, but I could see him also being remembered for the Consumer Protection Board and the president who saved the American automobile industry. Immigration would put him in the top ten lists of great ones. The right-wing knows this and that’s why their last-ditch efforts to derail anything Obama wants to do will be loud and scary. But that’s all they’ll be for years to come.

In the meantime, we are living through a trying time with a leader that history will remember fondly.

President’s New Plan – More Execute Orders While Congress Sits on its Hands

An internal White House assessment concludes that President Obama must distance himself from a recalcitrant Congress after being badly damaged last year by legislative failures, a government shutdown and his own missteps.

Obama has said that his fraught relationship with Congress, especially after Republicans won the House in 2010, complicated his ability to promote his agenda. But for the first time, following what many allies view as a lost year, the White House is reorganizing itself to support a more executive-focused presidency and inviting the rest of the government to help.

The new approach comes after weeks of internal White House debate over a single question: What went wrong in 2013? The answers will help determine the outline of the State of the Union address Obama will deliver Tuesday evening, as well as how he pursues a meaningful legacy in the remainder of his term.

Last year began with the fresh-start ambitions of his second inauguration but ended in a long trail of mistakes, international embarrassments and missed legislative opportunities that sapped Obama’s credibility with the public.

Senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer outlined the lessons learned in a three-page memo that Obama discussed with his Cabinet in recent weeks, according to several administration officials who have read the document.

Among its conclusions is that Obama, a former state legislator and U.S. senator, too often governed more like a prime minister than a president. In a parliamentary system, a prime minister is elected by lawmakers and thus beholden to them in ways a president is not.

As a result, Washington veterans have been brought into the West Wing to emphasize an executive style of governing that aims to sidestep Congress more often. A central ambition of Obama’s presidency — to change the way Washington works — has effectively been discarded as a distraction in a time of hardening partisanship.

President Obama – Pot is Less Damaging Than Alcohol

In an interview with the New Yorker’s David Remnick published Sunday, Obama said while he believes marijuana is “not very healthy,” the drug isn’t as harmful as some insist.

“As has been well documented, I smoked pot as a kid, and I view it as a bad habit and a vice, not very different from the cigarettes that I smoked as a young person up through a big chunk of my adult life. I don’t think it is more dangerous than alcohol,” Obama told Remnick.

When asked if he believes marijuana is less harmful than alcohol, Obama said it is less damaging “in terms of its impact on the individual consumer.”

“It’s not something I encourage, and I’ve told my daughters I think it’s a bad idea, a waste of time, not very healthy,” he added.

Marijuana is currently classified by the Drug Enforcement Administration as a Schedule 1 substance, which the DEA considers “the most dangerous class of drugs with a high potential for abuse and potentially severe psychological and/or physical dependence.” Other Schedule 1 drugs include heroin, ecstasy and LSD.

Obama said his focus on reforming laws that punish drug users, noting the racial disparity in drug arrests.

“We should not be locking up kids or individual users for long stretches of jail time when some of the folks who are writing those laws have probably done the same thing,” he said.

Rush Limbaugh is Ready For A President Obama Cheating Scandal

He must have run out of things to say to his ever decreasing following base.

Rush Limbaugh desperately wants President Obama to be caught cheating on first lady Michelle Obama and says “yes, please” to the idea of such a scandal. Limbaugh seems as though he’s very bored by the Chris Christie bridge debacle and ad incident, so the idea of Obama cheating on Michelle would be much more exciting. On his radio show earlier today, Limbaugh stated that he would love it if the president would step out on the first lady.

“Why can’t we have scandals like that anymore?” Limbaugh asked, referring to this week’s news about French President Francoise Hollande’s affair. Limbaugh went on to say “Why can’t we have Obama running around on Michelle or something?”

He then admitted his rumination was “just wishful thinking,” but seemed to indicate that he would be thrilled if it were to come true. He waxed poetic about Hollande’s year-long affair with “a beautiful young French actress” and said it would be “much more exciting than Christie’s bridge lane closures” if there was some “good, old fashioned” cheating on the part of Obama

This Ninth-Grader Introduced Obama Before A Speech This Week And Absolutely Killed It

We think it’s fair to say ninth-grade student Kiara Molina had a great day Thursday.

Not only did the teen introduce President Barack Obama before one of his major speeches, but the president called it “one of the best introductions I’ve ever had.”

Molina, who currently attends Harlem Children’s Zone Promise Academy Charter School in New York spoke about her positive experiences at the school, which also provides services to families in the Harlem community. After her introduction, Obama went on to speak about his administration’s plan to invest in five economically disadvantaged “promise zones” throughout the country.

Obama said he was “proud of Kiara for that introduction and for sharing her story. Just so poised.”

“I know your mom is proud. I know she is. She should be,” the president said to the teen.

Watch Molina’s introduction below, and let us know what you think in the comments section.

Mark Obama Ndesandjo

President Obama’s half-brother Mark Obama Ndesandjo is a skillful pianist, author and businessman. After living there for 12 years, Ndesandjo says living in China helped find himself, whereas growing up in Kenya  taught him survival skills and America overwhelmed him as he attempted to navigate the academic and dating scene. His recent memoir, Cultures My Odyssey of Self-Discoverywhich was originally published in Kenya and Shenzhen in 2009,will be published worldwide in 2014. And on the heels of that release, we spoke with Ndesandjo about the book’s intimate details of the domestic violence he and his mother endured from Barack Obama, Sr. — the father he shares with President Obama.

The Final Push

Far be it from me to argue with one of the greatest historical minds of the 20th century, but we essentially have an executive that serves a six year term, even if we get two extra bonus lame duck years for our efforts. So it has been with most other presidents, and so it probably shall be with Barack Obama. This is his sixth year; if it doesn’t happen this year, chances are that none of his high priority agenda items will become law in 2015 or 2016.

That’s why 2014 represents the final push for immigration, tax reform, a higher minimum wage, climate policy and every other item on the left-wing wish list. But this is not necessarily a bad thing. History has taught us that the first push rarely results in success when it comes to big change. Look how long it took to get healthcare reform. Sometimes the push is necessary if for no other reason than to get an idea in the public’s mind and to prepare them, or to follow their lead, when it comes to legislation.

Like marriage equality, which coalesced into a major civil rights issue in a short amount of time, the push for rights for all people goes as far back as Stonewall in 1969 and the Supreme Court’s ruling for and then reversal on, anti-sodomy laws in 1986 and 2003. Progressives have been highlighting income inequality and the rising gap between wealthy and not for decades. Now that cry is becoming a major force in calling for a higher, livable minimum wage that just could pass this year. After all, most people, even Republicans, support it.

The same will most likely be true of climate legislation, immigration, privacy and energy. More and more younger people realize that their world is changing and that the United States either has to catch up to other countries who are already addressing the problems or fall behind to our economic and social detriment. The far right is beginning to lose its grip on the Republican Party, and while I don’t see a more moderate wing surging anytime soon, I do see a less strident GOP in our future. That’s good news.

This year will see one or two major pieces of legislation, with the rest of Obama’s agenda left to the next Democratic president and a more willing population. I think we are moving in the right direction, but like anything done well, this will take time.

President Obama Spends Christmas With the Troops

President Obama engaged Wednesday in what has become his Christmas Day tradition, visiting with troops at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

Obama spoke to and took pictures with nearly 600 service members and their families who had gathered at the base’s chow hall.

“Michelle and I know that we would not enjoy the freedoms we do if it weren’t for the incredible dedication and professionalism and work that you do — he least we can do is just let you all know we’re grateful to you,” the commander-in-chief said.

Employing the Hawaiian version of Merry Christmas, Obama said, “we hope all of you have a Mele Kalikimaka, and we hope you guys have a great new year as well.”

Obama stayed at the base for more than two hours.

On Christmas Eve, the White House announced, Obama made holiday telephone calls to U.S. service members from each branch of the military, including personnel who were wounded in an operation in South Sudan last weekend.

THE FIRST LADY: We know how busy this time of year is for everyone, so we’re not going to take much of your time.
