It’s coming through the grapevine that the show hosted by Joy Reid on MSNBC, The Reid Report, will be canceled and that Mrs Reid was notified of the network’s decision on Thursday.
Media watchers have long speculated whether the “Lean Forward” network will shake up its struggling daytime lineup, especially after 1 p.m. ET host Ronan Farrow’s eponymous show fell to a stunning 11k viewers in the ages 25-54 demo just a few weeks ago. While Farrow has been the subject of most cancellation rumors, The Reid Report has frequently been named as well.
No word yet on when Reid’s last show will be broadcast.
These conservatives have paraded around the conservative news media calling the President, among other things, “weak” for holding a three-day summit on ISIS and not using the words, ” radical Islamic extremists” while talking about the group. The president has already described them as terrorists, but conservatives think that using the term, “radical Islamic extremists” would force ISIS to magically change its mind about their brutality and live in peace and tranquility like Monks.
So when one of these conservatives came on Shepard Smith’s show armed with his talking-points that Obama is not doing enough against the terrorist group, Smith wanted a little more beef than just talk. So he pushed back and asked for specifics. But of course, there were none as the talker came only armed with… talk!
The talker is former George Bush Ambassador for Special Political Affairs, Ambassador Stuart Holliday. His mission was to continue parroting the talking point that Obama is weak for not calling ISIS names like “radical Islamic extremists,” a talking point conservatives parroted into a nifty little analogy – that Obama’s three days summit on ISIS terrorists is like holding a fire drill in the middle of a fire. But when Shep asked the talker what else should be done, Holliday had no ideas. Nothing!
On Thursday, Walmart announced that it will raise all of its full-time and part-time employees’ pay to at least $9 an hour starting in April. The lowest wage will rise to $10 an hour by February of next year.
In a press release, it said it is also raising pay for the compensation range for each position, and all told says that about 500,000 employees will see a raise from the changes. It also says the raises will mean its average hourly wage for full-time workers will increase from $12.85 to $13 an hour and the average for part-time workers will increase from $9.48 to $10 an hour.
It also promised that workers “will have more control over their schedules.” The wage increases will cost more than $1 billion this fiscal year.
In announcing the changes, CEO Doug McMillion acknowledged some of the criticism that the company has sacrificed customer loyalty because of its pay practices. “We have work to do to grow the business. We know what customers want from a shopping experience, and we’re investing strategically to exceed their expectations and better position Walmart for the future,” he said. “We’re strengthening investments in our people to engage and inspire them to deliver superior customer experiences.”
Yea, yea, I know. This is Fox News, so we should expect name calling to pass as news.
On his broadcast on Wednesday, Sean Hannity showed a clip of Obama’s former Senior Adviser David Axelrod, correctly saying that in the past six years of President Obama’s presidency, there have not been any “major scandals.” Yes, that is a correct statement but this is Fox News and like expected, on cue, Sean Hannity began naming all the man-made hysteria Fox News pushed as “scandals.” These include “scandals” like Benghazi, Healthcare.gov, the IRS so-called scandal, Fast and Furious, etc., etc., etc.
Among the panelists was Geraldo Riveria, who timidly began saying the things Hannity named were not real scandals, but it was another panelist named Bernard McGuirk who stole the show with his personal attack on the Rev. Al Sharpton, criticizing the amount of times he visited the White House as “the real scandal.”
“You know, they didn’t go anywhere so they weren’t ‘scandals’ per say, they were scandalous,” Bernard said, dismissing Hannity’s list. He went on to name a few more so-call “scandals” that Fox News harped on in the past, like the apparent “flirting” by Obama in South Africa when he attended Nelson Mandela’s funeral and another apparent “flirting” edition by the president in California.
Then Bernard said this: “But I would say this. Speaking of scandalous, the biggest scandal of the whole administration is the fact that he has Geraldo’s – to borrow from Joe Biden – Geraldo’s butt-buddy Al Sharpton, that sleazy assclown Al Sharpton to the White House…,” to which Sean Hannity is heard saying, “that’s true, 85 times.”
Once again, because of the small mentality of so many in the media, President Obama found himself today explaining the obvious, that ISIS or ISIL and Islam are different and that America is not fighting Islam. “We are not at war with Islam,” the president said.
Calling it a “recruiting tool” used by ISIS when they falsely say that America is at war with Islam, the president stated that “we must never accept the premise that they put forward, because it is a lie!”
He continued: “Nor should we grant these terrorists the religious legitimacy that they seek! They are not religious leaders, they’re terrorists!”
Yes, there are many people out there working in the media who needed to hear this distinction, and instead of spending their time covering the important stories and the terrorist activities of groups like ISIS, these so-called journalists and pundits spend a sickening amount of time confused and wondering if America is at war with Islam!
But now that the president has clarified this distinction, are these people going to move on and cover the real news? I strongly doubt that!
Again, this is a convicted felon talking. His name is Dinesh D’Souza and yes, he is a convicted felon and pleaded guilty for illegal campaign contributions.
D’Souza posted this on his twitter feed apparently complaining that the President is a “vulgar man” and a “boy from the ghetto,” because the president took a selfie for Buzzfeed to promote the Affordable Health Care Act, better known as Obamacare.
My question is this: Since when is taking a selfie a vulgar act done by ghetto people? And while I’m at it, lemme also ask this: why is a convicted Republican felon the moral authority on selfie taking etiquette?
Republicans. Their stupidity never cease to amaze me!
Republican Presidential wannabe Marco Rubio cannot even master his job in Congress. According to an analysis, Rubio has already missed over 8% of the 1100 votes he should have cast since joining the Senate. But Rubio is not allowing that dubious distinction to stop him from aspiring to a higher office – being president of the United States.
Politico reports: Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) have been absent from the most votes in their respective chambers, according to a new analysis by Vocativ in partnership with GovTrack.us.
Of 1,198 total votes, Rubio has missed 99, or 8.3 percent, since taking office in January 2011.
“He is one of the only senators with young children who has not moved his family to D.C., and tries to spend as much time in Florida with them as possible,” Rubio spokesman Alex Conant told POLITICO. “In addition to his parental responsibilities, in recent years he’s also had to return to Florida and miss votes due to his mother’s health and civic responsibilities like jury duty.”
Jeeze! Then brains feeding the Republican base is in dying need of some ginkgo biloba! Is this the best these conservative minds can come up with?
This piece of Republican paranoia comes from Rick Wiles.
On Friday’s edition of “Trunews,” host Rick Wiles spoke with guest Brett Creamer about a “series of dreams and visions” Creamer had “in which he saw a tsunami wave strike the southeastern United States, and the aftermath of an economic collapse in which private property is seized from middle-class homeowners and given to illegal immigrants.”
Wiles said that Creamer’s dreams confirmed his suspicions that Obama may one day seize all private property, especially the homes of conservatives, and hand over the land to undocumented immigrants.
“There’s a real possibility that all private property could be confiscated in the United States of America,” Wiles said. “Could it be hard for you to imagine Barack Obama taking homes from middle class, conservative people and giving them to illegal immigrants who just came into the country? That’s a no-brainer for me, that is a redistribution of wealth.”
Well then he better get on it already. He only have a little over a year left in office.
But then this is not real news. Chris Christie is so damaged in the state he governs that the governor in the Walking Dead would be more popular in New Jersey than Christie is.
A new Rutgers-Eagleton poll in New Jersey finds Hillary Clinton has a commanding 23 points lead on Gov. Chris Christie in a possible presidential match up, 58% to 35%.
Chris Christie’s presidential ambitions may have already ended. He’s probably the only one still thinking he has a shot in 2016.
The outgoing Attorney General said on Tuesday that the Justice Department’s findings in the killing of Ferguson’s Mike Brown by officer Darren Wilson on August 9th 2014, will be announced before he leaves office.
Holder said in response to a question that the reviews were underway and that he expected to “make those calls before I leave office.”
It’s not clear when that will be but his chosen successor, Loretta Lynch, will likely be confirmed within weeks.
Apparently, there are Islamists embedded in the White House because the White House’s statement after the murder of 21 Egyptians by ISIS, did not specify that these Egyptians were in fact, Christians. Thus, according to Fox News Pundit and contributor, Thomas McInerney, there must be Islamists in the White House.
McInerney made his comments on the Worldnet Daily Propaganda Radio Machine.
I know, I know. That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, but leave it up to Glenn Beck to draw the conclusion that because 22 million people are watching the zombie show on AMC every week, that must mean that these people are subconsciously preparing for the third world war!
I know, I know, it makes no sense. But what do you expect? We are talking about Republicans here.
“I think that we all know that the world is about to come undone,” Beck theorized. “We all know, there is something in us that tells us the world is out of control but I don’t want to watch that … and so why are we watching ‘The Walking Dead’? We’re watching ‘The Walking Dead’ because we know the zombies aren’t real. And so it allows us to connect with what we’re really feeling but allows us to be in a safe zone because we know zombies aren’t real. Zombies are ISIS. Zombies is our economic peril. The rest of the show is what we say is coming”
