This Republican is Going Blind Because he Refused Obamacare

Remember when Congressional Republicans were urging members of their party to avoid getting healthcare? It was a calculated effort on their part to make Obamacare fail if people refused to sign up.

Well, that didn’t work as over 12 million smart and health conscious Americans have already signed up. But this man – a Republican who listened and heeded the call to forgo healthcare – refused to enroll, and now he is going blind because he has no healthcare.

Lang, a 49-year-old resident of Fort Mill, has bleeding in his eyes and a partially detached retina caused by diabetes.“He will lose his eyesight if he doesn’t get care. He will go blind,” said Dr. Malcolm Edwards, the Lancaster ophthalmologist who examined Lang.

Lang is a self-employed handyman who works with banks and the federal government on maintaining foreclosed properties. He has done well enough that his wife, Mary, hasn’t had to work. They live in a 3,300-square-foot home in the Legacy Park subdivision valued at more than $300,000.

But he has never bought insurance. Instead, he says, he prided himself on paying his own medical bills. That worked while he and his wife were relatively healthy. But after 10 days of an unrelenting headache, Lang went to the emergency room on Feb. 25. He says he was told he’d suffered several mini-strokes. He ran up $9,000 in bills and exhausted his savings. Meanwhile, his vision worsened and he can’t work, he says.

That’s when he turned to the Affordable Care Act exchange. Lang learned two things: First, 2015 enrollment had closed earlier that month. And second, because his income has dried up, he earns too little to get a federal subsidy to buy a private policy.

Lang, a Republican, says he knew the act required him to get coverage but he chose not to do so. But he thought help would be available in an emergency. He and his wife blame President Obama and Congressional Democrats for passing a complex and flawed bill.

The irony of course is the loudest voices against Obamacare are now covered by Obamacare. Don’t believe me? Ask Ted Cruz.

Laura Ingraham on Jeb Bush – “there has to be something wrong with you”

The Bush family cannot do anything wrong, no matter what the rest of the country thinks, no matter what the rest if the world thinks. And that sentiment was demonstrated in a recent interview when Jeb Bush said his brother George was absolutely right to invade Iraq, and that he, Jeb, would have done the very same thing too, even “knowing what we know now.”

In an interview on Fox, Jeb – a potential candidate for the Republican nomination for president in 2016 – acknowledged that even “knowing what we know now,” he would invade Iraq just as his brother did back in 2004.

“I would,” Jeb said. “And so would have Hillary Clinton, just to remind everybody.”

But as I mentioned above, the vast majority of Americans and the world disagree with the Bush family on this one, even some in the higher echelons of the Republican party. Laura Ingraham – another candidate for the Republican nomination for president in 2016 – concluded that Jeb Bush must be insane.

“You can’t still think that going into Iraq, now, as a sane human being, was the right thing to do,” Ingraham said on her radio show. “If you do, there has to be something wrong with you.”

But it should come as no surprise that “knowing what we know now,” Jeb would still invade. In another bombshell recording, Jeb told a group of donors that his brother George, the same former president who authored the failed foreign policy of the Iraq war, was one of his top foreign policy advisers.

This is not a joke people. These Bush (es) just don’t get it. Although everybody see the fault in starting a war based on lies, Jeb is prepared to walk in his brother’s footsteps again even given what we know now.

Maybe Laura Ingraham is right. Maybe there is something insane about that family.

Sicko Rand Paul Staffer Licks Democrat’s Camera Lens – The Sicko Video

These are the people hired to help run the Rand Paul presidential campaign. Somehow, I’m not surprised that this is the impulse of this Republican campaign staffer.

The incident happened at a Rand Paul campaign event in New Hampshire.

Two Police Officers Shot and Killed in Mississippi

CNN is reporting that two police officers were shot dead in Mississippi late Saturday. It was the first time in 30 years that an officer was killed in the line of duty in Hattiesburg, the mayor said.

Officers Benjamin J. Deen, 34, and Liquori Tate, 24, were making a traffic stop when they were shot, Mayor Johnny DuPree said.

They were taken to a hospital, but did not survive.

“The men and women who go out every day to protect us, the men and women who go out every day to make sure that we are safe, were turned on tonight,” DuPree said.

Police have apprehended two suspects, Marvin Banks and Curtis Banks, he said.

After the shooting, the suspects stole a police vehicle, which they used to flee. It was later found abandoned, according to CNN affiliate WDAM. The two men both have criminal records.

More Jobs Created, Unemployment rate at 5.4% – Republicans, they Mad

A new jobs report for April and more evidence that the policies of president Obama are working.

As per this new report, there have been over 12.3 million private sector jobs added to the economy since this president took office, and April marked the 62nd straight month of positive jobs growth, adding 223,000 jobs. And the unemployment rate is reflecting all this positive growth, falling to 5.4% – the lowest since May of 2008.

Republicans can’t be too happy. They have sat on their hands for Obama’s entire presidency, hoping to make his presidency fail. But give them time, they’ll figure out a way to see this positive information as negative.

OMG – Jeb Bush Says George Bush is His Top Foreign Policy Adviser – #Insanity

Here we go again. Another unwanted and unnecessary trip down Bush lane. Do we really want George Bush advising anyone on foreign policies? What is he advising Jeb on, telling him what not to do?

Bush cited his brother, former President George W. Bush, as one of his main advisers on the Middle East in a private meeting in Manhattan on Tuesday, according to three people who attended the off-the-record event.

The comment came as a shock to some who were in the room because Jeb, a likely presidential contender, has taken pains to publicly distance himself from his brother and his controversial policies, particularly in that area of the world.

In a national security speech in February, Bush said, “I am my own man,” and he has insisted he would develop his own policies on foreign affairs if he decides to run for president.

Muslim Hater Pamela Geller Compares Herself to Rosa Parks – Video

I’m sure you’ve all heard of the brilliant idea a conservative group had, to hold a contest for people wishing to draw the Muslim Prophet Muhammad. Of course this was a dumb and insensitive to the entire Muslim community who say its disrespectful to portray their leader in any disparaging way, and the drawing contest idea had disaster written all over it from the very onset.

Thinking that their religious leader was being discredited by the group, two Muslim men went to Texas intent of killing as much people as possible.

In the end, the two men were both shot and killed. And American civilian casualties were at a minimum, and today the terrorist group ISIS claimed responsibility for the men’s action.

We would think that the organizer of this event would have had a chance to reflect on what happened over the last couple of days, and maybe she’d want to set the record straight. But instead, Pamela Geller went on Fox News and double down on the hate and what she thought was a great idea. And in the process, she even found time to compare herself to Rosa Parks.

Carly Fiorina Announces – “Yes, I am running for president”

Speaking to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Carly Fiorina, the GOP’s female version of Mitt Romney, announced that she is in fact running for president in 2016. And the occupants in the GOP clown car increased by 1.

“Yes, I am running for president,” she said on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” where she made the announcement to host George Stephanopoulos. “I think I’m the best person for the job because I understand how the economy actually works. I understand the world, who’s in it, how the world works.”

“I understand bureaucracies, and that’s what our federal government has become — a giant, bloated, unaccountable, corrupt bureaucracy,” she said. “I understand technology, which is a tool both to re-imagine government to re-engage citizens in the process of government, and I understand executive decision-making, which is making a tough call in a tough time with high stakes for which you’re prepared to be accountable.”

GoFundMe Shuts Down Fundraising Page for Baltimore Police Officers

The crowdfunding service, GoFundMe shut down a page dedicated to raising $600,000 for the six police officers charged with the death of Baltimore’s Freddie Gray yesterday.

Shortly after the charges were levied against the six officers, the Baltimore Police Union began the page with the intent of raising the cash for the officers’ “living and legal expenses.” But the page was quickly shut down about 40 minutes after the charges were announced because, according to the company, the page violated the company’s terms of use.

“GoFundMe removed the fundraising campaign created for the Baltimore police officers charged in the death of Freddie Gray,” company spokeswoman Kelsea Little said Friday.
“GoFundMe cannot be used to benefit those who are charged with serious violations of the law,” she said. “The campaign clearly stated that the money raised would be used to assist the officers with their legal fees, which is in direct violation of GoFundMe’s terms.”
“Specifically, ‘campaigns in defense of formal charges or claims of heinous crimes, violent, hateful, sexual or discriminatory acts’ are not permitted on GoFundMe,” she added.

Laughable – Report that Freddie Gray was “intentionally trying to injure himself,”

Now how in the world is this even possible? That Freddie Gray, the man handcuffed by Baltimore police and had to be taken to a police vehicle screaming in pain because he was physically unable to use his legs… how is it even possible that he was inside the vehicle, he was “intentionally trying to injure himself?”

This one does not pass the smell test.

A prisoner sharing a police van with Freddie Gray the night he died of spinal injuries while in police custody in Baltimore purportedly told investigators that Gray was “banging against walls” inside the vehicle and was “intentionally trying to injure himself,” The Washington Post reported Thursday.

The statement from the unidentified prisoner was contained in an application for a search warrant, the newspaper said. The warrant has been sealed by the court, but the Post said it had obtained the documents under the condition that the prisoner not be named.

The newspaper noted that the prisoner, al though sharing the police van, was separated from Gray by a metal partition and could not see him.

Police had weeks since Gray’s death to come up with a better story, you’d think they’ll have something better than this.
