Latest Poll – Jeb Bush Hits 3 Percent Support for 2016

And he’s still in it! When oh when will he bow out and save whatever is left of the Bush name? I don’t know. Maybe when he falls into the Bobby Jindal zero zone!

Jeb Bush has fallen to eighth place in the race for the 2016 GOP nomination, according to a new national poll released Tuesday.

Bush, once considered a front-runner in the race, was the first choice for President of only 3% of likely Republican voters surveyed in the University of Massachusetts survey, marking the former Florida governor’s worst poll levels since he announced his candidacy earlier this year.

Coming in first in the poll, conducted among 1,224 people from Nov. 5 to Nov. 13, was Donald Trump, who got the support of 31%.

Ben Carson and Ted Cruz came in second and third, with 22% and 13%, respectively.

Bobby Jindal Quits Presidential Race – Didn’t Know He Was Running

Bobby Jindal thought it was his time. He thought he would be the next president of the greatest nation on the face of the earth. Bobby Jindal dreamed of that title – President Jindal. But someone should have told him that you need to run for president in order get a chance a chance at winning!

After his feeble attempt to run, Jindal, who couldn’t get more than an average of ZERO in all the polls, called it quits!

“I’ve come to the realization that this is not my time,” Jindal said on Fox News.

He also said that he wasn’t prepared to endorsed anyone, but will support the eventual GOP candidate.

Donald Trump – More Guns Would Have Been the Answer in Paris – Video

The ironic thing is, the terrorists use of guns caused the most carnage in Paris last weekend, but according to Donald Trump, the leading Republican presidential candidate, more guns on the scene would have been the answer. It’s the usual Republican answer – More guns is the answer to everything.

Speaking to CNN on Saturday, Trump said;

“When you look at Paris — you know the toughest gun laws in the world, Paris — nobody had guns but the bad guys. Nobody had guns. Nobody. They were just shooting them one by one and then they (security forces) broke in and had a big shootout and ultimately killed the terrorists.

“You can say what you want, but if they had guns, if our people had guns, if they were allowed to carry, it would’ve been a much, much different situation.”

Then on Monday at a rally in Knoxville, Tennessee, Trump doubled down on the favorite NRA talking point;

“You have the horrible attack. And by the way, Paris is one of the places in the world that’s toughest on guns… If 20 of those people — you don’t need more, but could’ve been more, could’ve been all of them. But if 20 of those people that were shot, viciously — and if you heard the stories, ‘Come on over, boom, come on over, boom, come here, boom,” one after another after another, hundreds of people, plenty are dying and will be dead. Now, if you had 25 people in there that had guns, okay? It would have been a totally different story, folks. There would have been the shootout at the O.K. Corral.”

Jeb Bush Flips – Now He’s Concerned about ALL Syrian Refugees – Video

What a difference a couple of days make… and a smack down from the President of the United States helped.

Just Sunday in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Jeb Bush fell in line with the other Republican presidential candidates demanding Syrian refugees remain in Syria where they are being slaughtered by ISIS and the Syrian regime. In that CNN interview however, Jeb didn’t close his heart from all Syrian refugees, he was willing to allow only the Christian refugees access to the United States.

“There are a lot of Christians in Syria that have no place now,” Jeb said, while talking about whether we should allow refugees here in the United States. “They’ll [Christians] be either executed or imprisoned, either by Assad or by ISIS. We should focus our efforts as it relates to the refugees for the Christians that are being slaughtered.”

In other words, a Religious test to decide who we save and who gets slaughtered.

President Obama had something to say about that!

“That’s shameful,”the President said. “That’s not American. That’s not who we are…We don’t have religious tests to our compassion. We do not close our hearts to these victims of such violence and somehow start equating the issue of refugees with the issue of terrorism.”

Those words from the president apparently had some effect on Jeb and he admitted in the interview that he thought the president was talking directly to him. So with that, the interviewers asked Jeb if he felt refugees – not just Christian refugees, but Muslim refugees as well – should be allowed in the United States?

Jeb offered his new position – “the answer to this is not to ban people from coming” but “to lead, to resolve the problem in Syria.” He then went on to say, “I don’t think we should eliminate our support for refugees,” Bush added. “It’s been a noble tradition in our country for many years.”

Nice flip Bush, nice flip! Have you met Mitt Romney?

3 Year Old Toddler Shoots and Kills Self with Gun

On Sunday, another responsible gun owner in Rock Hill South Carolina, just lost a toddler in their life to the gun they love.

Savion Barrow, 3, was taken by EMS ambulance from his home on Amelia Avenue to Piedmont Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead by hospital staff shortly after his arrival, York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said.

Capt. Mark Bollinger, spokesman for the Rock Hill Police Department, said Savion somehow got his hands on the gun and shot himself.

Sunday’s shooting was the second by a toddler in Rock Hill in just a month.

Last month, Rock Hill police charged the great-aunt of a 2-year-old boy with unlawful carrying of a gun after the child was able to get the gun while in the woman’s car, accidentally shooting the child’s grandmother. The grandmother survived.

Chris Christie – No Refugees in New Jersey, Especially “Orphans under 5 years old”

Tough-talking Chris Christie showed his breaking point Monday when he interviewed by phone with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt, and expressed his concern for Syrian refugees coming to his state. And as far as Christie goes, he’s not having any of these people in New Jersey, not even “orphans under 5!”

“I do not trust this administration to effectively vet the people who are proposed to be coming in in order to protect the safety and security of the American people, so I would not permit them in,” Christie said.

Hewitt then asked, “What if they were orphans under the age of 5?”

“You know, Hugh, we can come up with 18 different scenarios. The fact is that we need appropriate vetting, and I don’t think orphans under 5 should be admitted into the United States at this point. You know, they have no family here. How are we going to care for these folks?” Christie said. “The fact is, you can come up with a number of different scenarios, Hugh, but in the end, I don’t trust this administration to effectively vet the people that they’re asking us to take in. We need to put the safety and security of the American people first.”

The governors of Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Texas, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Massachusetts have gone further as to move formally to block refugees from relocating into their states – at least for now.

It should be noted that governors cannot turn people away from their state. They simply cannot say who can and cannot come in.

CNN Anchors Want Muslims to Take Responsibility for ISIS’s Attack in Paris – Video

I don’t know what to say about CNN anymore. Recently, because of the nonsense from Don Lemon, an online petition was circulated demanding his firing. Now, after the horrible ISIS attacks in Paris, two CNN anchors asked a Muslim why that community didn’t know or report the attack before it happened!

“Why is it that no one within the Muslim community there in France knew what these guys were up to?” asked CNN anchor John Vause as he interviewed Yasser Louati, a representative for the Collective Against Islamophobia in France. “Because it seems to me that this was a pretty big plan. Surely someone beyond the seven guys who’ve been killed over the last 48 hours would have to have known something and that was probably within the Muslim community but yet no one said anything.”

“Sir, the Muslim community has nothing to do with these guys,” Louati replied, “Nothing. We cannot justify ourselves for the actions of someone who just claims to be Muslim. Our secret services knew about these guys and, again, just like during the January attacks, it turns out they were all on a black list somewhere somehow on a desk. So right now we can’t take responsibility for anything.”

But the anchor and his co-anchor refused that argument and the conversation, no, the accusation continued for almost six minutes as the anchors insisted that someone in the Muslim community should have known and reported the planned ISIS attack.

Fox’s Shep Smith Slams “Extremest” Governors Refusing Refugees – Video

I’ve said this about Fox’s Shep Smith before, that he is working on the wrong network. Now, there are times when Shep toes the line and push the Republican talking points, then there are times when he goes out on a limb all by himself and, yes, speak the truth!

Since the terrorist attacks in Paris and the revelation that one of the attackers made their way into France as a refugee, there have been much talk, primarily among Republican presidential candidates and some governors, that America should turn away any and all refugees from Syria. And it was totally expected that the hosts at Fox News will mindlessly push that talking-point, but there goes Shep again, stepping out on another limb.

“In the face of terror, will we panic, or be calm and deliberative in approach? Confronted with those who want to change our way of life, will we abandon our freedoms and the rights granted to us by the Creator? Or will we welcome huddle masses yearning to breathe free?”

Smith of course is talking about the Republican presidential candidates and the 15 or so governors, primarily Republican governors, promising to reject any refugee sent to their state. Shep continued;

“Our shining city on a hill is vulnerable. We’ve always known that. If we change it to accommodate the savages, have they won? And what then would be left to protect? We profess to stand as an example for all the world. Our unique experiment in freedom, tolerance, openness, and equality is our gift to societies and peoples everywhere. Come, join us. Enjoy a chance at the American dream. Today, we mourn, but we cannot allow ourselves to become like those who want to destroy us. We cannot resort to the tactics of the barbarians. We must fight for what we believe in and who we are, guard our freedoms faithfully for the generations to follow. And we must not let the rhetoric of potential and political extremists among us lead us to self-destruction. When there’s panic, we show resolve. When there’s calm for extremism, we resist. We are America. We must lead.”

Does This Mean War?

I’m being a bit of a coward by posing my title as a question, but I do firmly believe that the western world is headed towards a much larger, more coordinated and, ultimately, more deadly military conflict. If it sounds like war, smells like war, destroys like war, breeds intolerance like war, then it must be a war.

And we’re in one.

I fear that there are more attacks coming in places that think they’re prepared, but are not. After all, Vladimir Putin thought he was going to help Assad in Syria and escape the fate that has befallen the United States, France and Great Britain. He was wrong, and 224 Russians savagely and tragically lost their lives. The French have been attacked twice this year. Israel is under constant threat.Who’s next?

I went on Facebook on Friday night after reading about the attacks and saw many people who had attached the peace sign with the Eiffel Tower in it, the French flag, and pictures of the people I know from their Paris vacations. But I also saw some vitriolic hatred directed towards all Muslim, and I mean ALL Muslims, even though they are not terrorists, and I saw the requisite number of posts calling President Obama a Muslim and blaming him for this, and seemingly every other attack, whether it was on US soil or not. It’s still gauche, evidently, to blame GW Bush for September 11, but blaming Obama for an attack on Paris is de rigueur, at least among a certain segment of the population.

Foreign policy will be a key factor in the upcoming presidential election and the GOP field had better begin focusing on policies other than building a very high wall on the Mexican border, throwing people out of the country and reestablishing the fortress America that served us so badly from 1924 to 1965. It also means that Bernie Sanders had better come up with a foreign policy plank that offers Democrats a choice between him and Hillary Clinton. Obviously, she has the most experience in the field by a wide margin. She’s got to make Americans believe that she can keep us safe, but engaged in the world. We need to stay strong.

My heart goes out to those who lost a loved one or who was injured in the attacks. The world has now shifted.

“The Adventures of Young Ben Carson” – Watch the Knife Attack – Video

The casts of Saturday Night Live reenacted some of the stories of Ben Carson from his teenage years. The stories came from Carson’s own writings, writings that have dominated the news over the last few weeks.

In the reenactment, we see a young Ben Carson getting so angry, so mad that he tried to kill a man with a knife only to see the man still standing, saved by his belt buckle. And the story about a young Ben Carson going after his mother with a hammer? Yea, that too was reenacted by the talented cast at SNL.

Stephen Colbert’s Speechless Moment in Announcing the Paris Attacks – Video

At the end of taping his show on Friday, Stephen Colbert broke the news to his audience in a heartfelt announcement that almost seemed to bring the host to tears.

“Folks, we end tonight’s show with a heavy heart because we taped all of tonight’s show, and then we found out about the horrific attacks in Paris today. I know not much is known right now. We do know there have been many deaths and the crisis is still ongoing.

“President Hollande declared a state of emergency and President Obama has promised that the United States will do whatever it takes to bring those terrorists to justice. We add our thoughts and prayers to everyone in Paris.”

“And now, we’ll see you on Monday,” Colbert said, looking off to the side then sighing, before saying, “Goodnight.”
