Obama Used The Least Amount of Executive Orders in 100 Years, Still They Call Him “Lawless”

The Republican messaging machine is at it again, cranking out scurrilous memes that defame the president and distract from the party’s inaction.

The latest talking point is that the president is a “lawless” “dictator” hellbent on operating outside, and indeed above, the law.

This is not a particularly new line of attack. Conservatives have been using some variation of the lawlessness theme for some time to refer to the president’s actions, particularly to the administration’s adjustments to the Affordable Care Act.

But the distillation and repetition of the word “lawless” gathered new steam last month when the president signaled that he would work with Congress where he could but would issue executive orders, to the extent that he could, when he was stymied by Congress.

Before a cabinet meeting, the president said, “One of the things that I will be emphasizing in this meeting is the fact that we are not going to be waiting for legislation in order to make sure that we are providing Americans the kind of help that they need.” He added, “I’ve got a pen, and I’ve got a phone.”

Before the president could even repeat the sentiment in his State of the Union speech, Republicans were up in arms.

Representative Tim Huelskamp tweeted that night, “1st Release of Obama speech reads like the dictates from a King. All orders he will do to bypass Congress #LawLess.”

Huelskamp went on to repeat the #LawLess hashtag throughout the night, and it was picked up by others.

After the speech, Michele Bachmann threatened to sue the “king,” Obama.

It seems to matter not that this president has in no way been an abuser of executive orders. Quite the opposite. According to the American Presidency Project, a collaboration between John T. Woolley and Gerhard Peters at the University of California, Santa Barbara, President Obama had issued only 168 executive orders as of Jan. 20, fewer than any two-term president in more than 100 years.

Still, the “lawless” messaging has only picked up steam.

Fox News Presents Report from Fossil Fuel Lobbyist to Deny Climate Change – Video

Although 97 percent of climate experts agree that “humans are causing global warming,” the Fox News cast is still dragging its collective knuckles, criticizing the President for “declaring” climate change a fact.

And they did shows about it too.

In a recent  Fox News’ Special Report, host Chris Wallace did a segment on carbon emission regulations and stated that “President Obama has declared climate change a fact,” despite “objections from many dissenters.” In a Special Report presented by Doug McKelway, the case was made that climate change is not happening, and it contained an interview from a noted climate change denier Marc Morano who, as fate would have it, has ties with the fossil fuel industry.

Of course this fact was not disclosed to their audience that the report they presented had information from a lobbyist for fossil fuel industry.

New Jersey Tax Payers to Get The Bill – $650 per Hour For Christie’s Defense

Now this one I cannot understand. If Christie has nothing to hide, if he did nothing wrong, if he is innocent on any wrong doing and really had no knowledge of Bridgegate, then why has he lawyered up at a rate of $650 per hour? You would think that the self-proclaimed “Conservative” would want to save the taxpayers of his state that money by providing the subpoenaed documents but alas, there is something the governor doesn’t want us to see.

Governor Christie’s office has agreed to pay a high-powered attorney $650 per hour to represent it in a series of investigations into the George Washington Bridge lane closures.

That’s more than a 40 percent discount off attorney Randy Mastro’s normal rate, he wrote in a letter to state officials, and 20 percent less than the average amount charged by attorneys at the New York office of his firm, Gibson Dunn.

The terms of Mastro’s agreement were laid out in documents released by the governor’s office late Thursday in response to a public records request. A retention letter states that Mastro will help Christie’s office in several ways — including producing documents in connection with an investigation by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The reference to producing documents for the U.S. Attorney’s Office is the clearest indication that Christie’s office either has received, or anticipates receiving, a subpoena from federal prosecutors looking into whether a crime was committed. The state Republican Party and Christie’s re-election campaign confirmed earlier this month that they had received federal subpoenas but there has been no public confirmation of others.

Several people within Christie’s inner circle have also received subpoenas for documents by a joint legislative panel investigating the lane closures. The responses to those subpoenas are due on Monday. The attorney advising the investigative legislative panel, former federal prosecutor Reid Schar, is charging $350 per hour, also a discounted rate.

The biggest political crisis of Christie’s political career has also provided work for some of the biggest names in the region’s legal circles. Much of the cost is likely to be borne by taxpayers, although the Port Authority announced earlier this month that it would not pay the legal bills of the Christie ally and Port Authority executive who implemented the lane closures, David Wildstein.

President’s Weekly Address – Providing Opportunity for All – Video

President Obama gave his weekly address with a focus on the middle class and ways to provide the necessary opportunity they need, so that anyone who works hard, can succeed. The president again stressed on the ‘year of action’ concept he outlined in the State of The Union address and said that he will work with Congress but will do it on his own if Congress fails to act and within the confines of the Constitution.

I want to work with Congress on this agenda where I can. But in this year of action, whenever I can take steps without legislation to expand opportunity for more American families, I will.  I’ve got a pen and a phone – a pen to take executive action, and a phone to rally citizens and business leaders who are eager to create new jobs and new opportunities.

Is The World Really Laughing at Us? Twitter Says Yes – Tweets

America, our greatest fear may have now materialized. Too much dysfunction in Washington thanks to the Teaparty and the elected Republicans who use their office to keep the country from moving forward, all in a dumb and lame effort to make sure the president is looked upon as a failure.

The world is watching, and apparently, we are very amusing to everyone else.

Republican Restaurant Owner Refuse To Serve “freaks”, “faggots” or The Disabled

Yep. The owner of the restaurant is a Republican. I know. You expected that. And I can assure you, now that this story is made public, the other racist nuts in Oklahoma will gladly patronize the restaurant.

Welcome to 2014. People like this makes Ron and Rand Paul proud.

Gary James, owner of Gary’s Chicaros, said, “I’ve been in business 44 years, I think I can spot a freak or a faggot.”

He added, “I don’t deal with these people walking down the street with no jobs on welfare.”

James said, “If I reached over there and slapped the sh** out of you, you should be offended. But to call someone a ‘chink’ or someone call me a bigot, that doesn’t bother me.”

Now, a wave of comments on Facebook claim James refuses to serve African-Americans, Hispanics and people with disabilities, like Matt Gard.

Gard said, “He doesn’t like certain people of race, color, ethnicity.”

Gard was a regular at Gary’s Chicaros restaurant for years.

He said he turned a blind eye to the owner’s choice of customers, until recently.

Gard said, “Now, he tried to find a weak excuse not to let me in with my wheelchair or the weak excuse of having loud people with me.”

After getting turned away for a steak dinner, Gard said it’s about his disability.

James claimed that’s just not the case.

James said “He created an issue. You only have one time here. You create an issue, you’re out forever.”

Gard and at least 140 others posted on a Facebook page that said James’ attitude has crossed the line to discrimination.

Even the business’ t-shirt is viewed as offensive.

The shirt features derogatory slogans against homosexuals, it has the N-word on the front and threatens violence against Muslims, minorities and democrats.

James said he is proud to wear that shirt.

He said, “I really don’t want gays around. Any man that would compromise his own body would compromise anything.”

Gard said, “The people who still go back and patronize his business are condoning his behavior in how he treats others.”

James said, “Well if you work, you own a business, pay your taxes, you’re more than welcome here. If you’re on welfare, stay at home and spend my money, there.”

Strong words in a small town where no one has challenged his business practices.

The Office of Civil Rights Enforcement is a division of the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office which investigates cases of discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodation based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability and age.

If you feel that you are the victim of civil rights discrimination, you are asked to contact the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office.

Juan Williams – Obama Is Right – Benghazi is a “Political Football” For Fox – Video

I am beginning to gain some respect for Juan Williams.

Appearing on America’s Newsroom today, host Gregg Jarrett continued the usual Benghazi talking point, claiming that President Obama failed to call the attack an act of terror. Of course, we all know that’s not true. In fact, the very first statement the president made concerning Benghazi called the attack an “act of terror.” But as usual, that fact does not stop the lies from Fox.

Juan Williams responded, correctly saying that Benghazi is now being used as a “political football “At this point… that I think people are keeping alike to hector Hillary Clinton.”

Later on, Jarrett asked whether it was “undignified” and “embarrassing” of the president, during his pre-Super Bowl interview with Bill O’Reilly, to “blame the the Fox News Channel for the Benghazi problem” and “for all his woes.”

Williams’ response:

I didn’t think that he blamed us for all his woes, Greg. What he said is so often everything that happens we frame as an outright scandal and corruption, and stupidity and just make it as if he’s a bumbling clown. I think that’s fair of him to say.

Again! Comedian Jon Stewart Schools Seasoned “Journalists” on CBO Report

Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane… it’s… JON STEWART! The Comedian who does a better job reporting actual news than the so-called seasoned “journalists!”

Let the debunking begin!

Okay. Okay. This one was easy. The debunking in this case had to do with a recent CBO report that Conservatives and even some on CNN took and run with. The report claimed that because of Obamacare or the ACA, workers will now be free to leave some jobs to pursue other things, because they will no longer feel the need to work to keep healthcare.

Simple, right? Wrong.

Conservatives and Republicans took this report to claim that “Obamacare was killing the American dream.” They even went on to manufacture false statistics claiming that millions of people would lose their jobs because of Obamacare forcing them out of the jobs market.

Doomsday!

Jon Stewart, the comedian, set things straight… again!

Ethics Violation Charge on The 4th Most Important House Republican

She was tapped to deliver one of four confusing Republican responses to the president’s State Of The Union address, and now it seems that Cathy McMurray Rodgers is the perfect candidate for violating House Ethics.

The Office Of Congressional Ethics is recommending that the House Ethics Committee perform a full investigation into the matter. The news was first reported by Politico on Thursday.

McMorris Rodgers, the House’s No. 4 Republican, denied that she is guilty of any wrongdoing.

“As has become an unfortunate rite of passage for many Members of Congress, the OCE regularly refers matters to the House Ethics Committee for further review. Such reviews are virtually automatic, and as the Committee always points out, does not indicate that any violation has occurred, or reflect any judgment on behalf of the Committee,” McMorris Rodgers’ attorney, Elliot Berke of the McGuireWoods law firm said according to Politico.

A former McMorris Rodgers aide said that she mixed campaign funds and official congressional funds together for specific activities on her campaign for conference chairwoman against Rep. Tom Price (R-GA), something that isn’t allowed under House rules
