911 Caller – George Zimmerman Said “he was going to shoot me dead” – Audio

George Zimmerman is at it again. He has a gun so he thinks it’s all good to go around threatening to kill other people. Remember Trayvon Martin? Zimmerman walked free when he murdered Trayvon, so with gun in hand, look out!

Matthew Apperson called 911 on Tuesday morning and told the dispatcher that he was driving his Honda Accord on Lake Mary Boulevard, made a U-turn and headed west-bound when a Honda Ridgeline truck pulled alongside and someone inside rolled down his window.

“George Zimmerman was the driver, and they were threatening to kick my ___ and to shoot me,” Apperson told the dispatcher.

Apperson said he pulled into a Circle K to find a phone so he could call for help when the Ridgeline made a maneuver to block him and “almost hit my car.”

Zimmerman “said he was going to shoot me dead,” Apperson told the dispatcher.

According to a police report, a store surveillance video showed that as Apperson was walking into the store, the Ridgeline left.
Apperson said he did not see any weapons in Zimmerman’s truck, but police discovered that Apperson was carrying a gun. He has a concealed weapons permit, according to the report.

Two days later, Apperson called Lake Mary police again to report that he believed Zimmerman had followed him and was watching his movements.

Police investigated, found Zimmerman in his Ridgeline nearby, pulled him over and questioned him. He told them he had a doctor’s appointment in a nearby building.

They took a handgun from him but returned it near the end of their eight-minute exchange, according to an officer’s body video camera and patrol car dash camera.

More Insanity – Americans Prefer Republicans to Protect Us from Terrorism

September 11th, 2001 went down in history as a time when our political leaders dropped the ball. They were asleep at the wheel and this country paid and is still paying a heavy price for their failure to do their jobs.

That attack, a coordinated effort between multiple terrorists, brought down the Twin Towers in New York city, ending the lives of 2605 people. Another plane hit the Pentagon killing 125 more and yet another plane crashed in Pennsylvania killing all on board. In total, 2,977 people died that day, including the passengers on all the planes.

To add insult to injury, the Republican administration once again took its eye off the ball when, instead of going after the perpetrators of the terrorists attack, they went after oil in Iraq instead. Another 4486 American troops gave their lives for this oil, tens of thousands more sacrificed limbs for the Republican’s war and hundreds of thousands Iraqi civilians died, while the mastermind of the terrorists attack that forever changed the lives of every American on September 11th, that man – Osama Bin Laden, walked free. At one point in his presidency, George Bush was even caught saying that he was not concerned about Osama bin Laden anymore.

All that happened on the Republican watch, or should I say on the Republican nap. It wasn’t until a Democrat, Barack Obama, came into power that we developed a strategy, we refocused our efforts and eventually found and kill Osama Bin Laden.

So I was once again, utterly shocked when this latest Gallup poll came out saying that Americans prefer Republicans when it comes to fighting terrorism.

According to Gallup, 55% of Americans choose the GOP on this dimension, while 32% choose the Democratic Party. This is the widest Republican advantage in Gallup’s history of asking this question since 2002.

New Jersey – 8 Credit Downgrades Under Christie’s “Leadership”

And he wants to do the same thing for the nation!

New Jersey had its credit rating cut one step by Standard & Poor’s, handing Chris Christie his eighth downgrade, the most ever for a Garden State governor.

The reduction to A, the sixth-highest level, with a stable outlook follows a Sept. 5 downgrade by Fitch Ratings. It gives New Jersey the same general-obligation grade as California, which is on track for an upgrade as revenue exceeds Democratic Governor Jerry Brown’s estimates. Only Illinois has lower ratings than New Jersey among U.S. states.

“New Jersey continues to struggle with structural imbalance,” S&P analyst John Sugden in New York said in a statement today. “The governor’s decision to delay pension funding, while providing the necessary tools for cash management and budget control, has significant negative implications for the state’s liability profile.”

Christie, a 52-year-old Republican in his second term, broke his promise this year to make $2.5 billion in extra pension payments in fiscal 2014 and 2015 to help trim unfunded obligations. He has called for more changes to the plan as costs for employee benefits crowd out other state spending.

Ted Cruz Gets Booed OffStage by Christians – Video

Photo: REUTERS/Jim Bourg

They invited the Republican mad man was invited to speak at a conference for Middle Eastern Christians Wednesday night. Consider that the first mistake they made. As if they didn’t know that Ted Cruz was a pompous and egotistic maniac, eager to pander to a group if there is the slightest chance they can further his own political needs, the Middle Eastern Christians booed the Republican congressman when he began talking about his love of Israel.

Apparently Cruz did not do his homework on acceptable topics when pandering to Middle Eastern Christians.

“Christians have no greater ally than Israel,” was the comment that got the boos going.

Cruz, who cannot get his feelings hurt stormed off the stage like the little spoiled brat who cannot get his way. But before he exited left, as the boos rained down from the rafters, Cruz left the audience with these chilling words, a warning to be precise. “If you will not stand with Israel and the Jews,” he said. “Then I will not stand with you. Good night, and God bless.” And off he went!

Oh the calamity!

“Almost Evil” – A New Ad about Mitch McConnell

Do you really need more words to describe this new AFL-CIO ad about Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell?

This new ad is running in Kentucky where polling shows McConnell extending his lead considerably over his Democratic challenger, Alison Lundergan Grimes.

In the latest ad, titled “Almost Evil” and timed to coincide with Reid’s introduction of a minimum-wage proposal, the women blame the Koch brothers for Republican opposition to raising the minimum wage. “I think it’s deplorable that the Koch brothers would want to take away minimum wage,” Joyce Koch says in the ad, provided to the Herald-Leader Sunday. She adds in the end: “That’s a misuse of wealth and power, and I really think it’s almost evil.”

Report – President Obama Receives 30 Death Threats a Day

Did you know that President Obama receives about 30 death threats per day, according to Ronald Kessler, author of the 2009 “In the President’s Secret Service.” That’s a nearly four times the rate of the approximately 3,000 threats per year faced by George W. Bush, according to Kessler.

Most of the threats are not credible, and not made public, but must be investigated by the Secret Service. But Kessler’s book makes the case that the Secret Service is understaffed. “We have half the number of agents we need, but requests for more agents have fallen on deaf ears at headquarters,” a Secret Service agent told Kessler. “Headquarters’ mentality has always been, ‘You can complete the mission with what you have. You’re a U.S.S.S. agent’,” reported The Telegraph.

Ben Carson On Ray Rice – “Let’s not all jump on the bandwagon of demonizing this guy”

Ben Carson is a Republican and has been mentioned as a potential Republican candidate for President in 2016. Make no mistake, Ben Carson will never get the Republican’s nomination for president in 2016 or any year after, because Republicans are simply not ready for Carson’s real shade of gray… you know what I mean?

But following what happened today when TMZ released the full video of Rey Rice’s knockout punch on his then fiancée, Ben Carson jumped to the microphone to make his feelings known, and he doesn’t want anyone “demonizing” Rice for his knockout punch!

When asked if he agreed with the Baltimore Ravens and NFL’s decision to release Rice from his contract and suspend him indefinitely, Carson answered, “I’m hopeful they will get some help for him. I mean, obviously anyone who would do something like that needs some help.”

He continued;

And let’s not all jump on the bandwagon of demonizing this guy. He obviously has some real problems, and his wife obviously knows that, because she subsequently married him. So they both need some help. So rather than just jumping on a punitive bandwagon, let’s just see if we can get some help for these people.”

The Bush Daughters Are Not Registered Republicans

The New York Daily News checked the status of the daughters of former Republican president George W. Bush and found that their party registration do not say “Republican.”

Jenna, who registered in New York soon after her daughter was born is registered with the Independence Party and her twin sister is registered in Texas as an Independent.

The News reports that Jenna’s registration was actually a mistake, that her intention was to register as an independent, but signed up for the Independence Party instead. According to a spokesperson for Jenna Bush, the mistake was due to “very little sleep. ”

“Jenna registered to vote in New York soon after her daughter was born, and like all new moms, she was functioning on very little sleep. She mistakenly registered for the Independence Party,” said Megan Kopf Stackhouse, a spokeswoman for the former President’s daughter.

Don’t worry ladies, I know that being a Republican these days is not what it used to be. And I actually commend you both for realizing that fact and choosing not to be affiliated with the party your father once led.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s better to mistakenly be a member of the Independence Party than to intentionally be a Republican.

The White House – Destroying ISIS Could Take Up To 3 Years

The New York Times is reporting that the Obama administration is preparing to carry out a phased campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria that may take three years to eventually destroy the terrorist army — requiring a sustained effort that could last until after President Obama has left office, according to senior administration officials.

The first phase, an air campaign with nearly 145 airstrikes in the past month, is already underway to protect ethnic and religious minorities and American diplomatic, intelligence and military personnel, and their facilities, as well as to begin rolling back ISIS gains in northern and western Iraq.

The next phase, which would begin sometime after Iraq forms a more inclusive government, scheduled this week, is expected to involve an intensified effort to train, advise or equip the Iraqi military, Kurdish fighters and possibly members of Sunni tribes.

The final, toughest and most politically controversial phase of the operation — destroying ISIS in its sanctuary inside Syria — might not be completed until the next administration. Indeed, some Pentagon planners envision a military campaign lasting at least 36 months.

Mr. Obama will use a speech to the nation on Wednesday to make his case for launching a United States-led offensive against Sunni militants gaining ground in the Middle East, seeking to rally support for a broad military mission while reassuring the public he is not plunging American forces into another Iraq war.

From Summer to Serious

I’ve always found it interesting when the calendar changes to the day after Labor Day and the country gets serious. The rest of the world doesn’t know from this holiday and I’m sure there’s a great deal of literature on how the calendar affects world affairs. Thus, here we are.

The world continues to be on fire. ISIS, Syria, Israel, Palestine, West Africa, and English towns that breed terrorists are mainstays of the 24-hour news cycle. The president is excoriated for suggesting that we are at a loss over what to do about increasing threats overseas. Texas is on alert for possible infiltration across the Mexican border. But don’t worry about that too much because Chris Christie was just in Mexico and I’m sure he’ll scare off the militants. Of course, he hasn’t a clue about foreign policy, but at least he didn’t pull a Romney on his first foreign trip.

On the domestic political front, the big issue is that Congress is going to meet for a few days, adjourn, and go home to run for those all-important safe seats that 96% of the members occupy. Excepting, of course, those few Senate seats that are up for grabs. It’s interesting to note that except for 2010, a big exception, I know, the Republican moon-bayers have been unable to defeat Obama and the Democrats and scare the country into giving the conservatives the control they will never, ever have. Yes, the House has been able to wreak havoc on the country and, by the by, their own party, but they have not been successful at implementing their agenda. They’ve only stymied the Democrats but for the 2009-2011 Congressional session.

Oh, and that ACA law thing? It’s working fairly well. You know, millions of people now have health insurance, doctors are able to give elderly people more care, poor people can get Medicaid, except in states that don’t take free money but say they are fiscally responsible. But no worries on that because those states that deny the money are actually paying so that the states that did take free Medicaid money can cover their populations. I live in one of those states. My governor wants to be president. Scared yet?

But if the Senate goes to the GOP, then both houses of Congress will vote to repeal the ACA, right? Well, possibly, but right now the GOP isn’t taking the Senate. And chances are good that they won’t. You heard it here third.

Did we even have a summer?
