Republicans Don’t Even Want To Appear Humane

“I don’t see how the — the party that says it’s the party of the family is going to adopt an immigration policy which destroys families that have been here a quarter century. And I’m prepared to take the heat for saying, let’s be humane in enforcing the law without giving them citizenship but by finding a way to create legality so that they are not separated from their families.”

That was Newt Gingrich, the present leader in the Republican’s race to take on President Obama in 2012. Gingrich was responding to a question about illegal immigration, and whether his administration would deport people living in this country illegally.

Gingrich was immediately pounced upon by the likes of Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann, who called Gingrich’s stance “amnesty.” They also called Newt’s idea a “magnet,” claiming that if you create legality for those families here 25 years or more, then others will come to this country illegally, expecting the same after their 25 years.

Well Gingrich said he was prepared to take the heat for saying “let’s be humane,” so here comes the heat.

High ranking Republicans are coming down on Newt for his recent, surprising stance on immigration . Representative Peter King joined in, calling Gingrich’s plan is “a form of amnesty.” King continued;

“I think if Speaker Gingrich had that to do over again, he might couch his language a little differently at a minimum. I wouldn’t agree with him on that policy,” King said. “I think that when you give people even a promise that they can stay in the country after they’re here illegally you become more of a magnet and it is a form of amnesty and more people will come in counting on that.”

King has been a vocal critic of so-called “amnesty” programs, and indicated that if he decided to endorse a candidate before the Jan. 3 caucus, Gingrich had hurt his chances.

If Republicans looked at what Newt said, they would see that he was not offering citizenship to these people, he is offering a “form of legality“,  to people who have been in this country for over 25 years, worked, paid taxes, and people who have roots in the communities they live in. Maybe they will be okay with Newt’s idea, but that word humane…!

Well, I usually don’t agree with the Newt, but it is rather amusing to see Republicans falling all over themselves, trying to separate their party from the very appearance of seeming humane.

Gingrich To Occupiers – Get A Job Right After You Take A Bath

In yet another example of Republicans  not understanding – or pretending not to understand – the struggles of the 99%, Newt Gingrich, the present leader among the Republicans trying to take on President Obama in 2012, blessed the American public, once again, with his expertise ignorance  on the Occupy Wall Street protesters.

He starts off with a lie, which was expected… he is Newt Gingrich. “All the Occupying Movements starts out with a premise that we owe them everything,” he said. He paused, and when the expected barrage of applause from the right winged crowd didn’t massage his ego enough, Gingrich continued;

They take over a public park they didn’t pay for, they go nearby to use bathrooms they didn’t pay for, to beg for food from places they didn’t pay for, to obstruct those going to work to pay their taxes to sustain the bathrooms and to sustain the park, so they can self-righteously explain that they are the paragons of virtue to which we owe everything.

Now that is a pretty good symptom of how much the left have collapse as a moral system in this country, and why you need to reassert something as simple as saying to them, ‘go get a job, right after you take a bath.’

Hearing the last line got Gingrich the kind of applause he craved.

However,  once again Newt, you’re wrong.

The 99% and the Occupiers are not concerned about what you have, nor do we want to take “everything” from you. What we do want is for you and your friends in the top 1% to stop taking everything from us. And over the last 30 years, since the Reagan Administration, taking from the poor to support the rich has been the Republicans’ modus operandi. It’s what they do.

And if Newt is correct in claiming that the Occupiers took over a public park  “they didn’t pay for,” then exactly who pays for this public park if not the taxpayers, the same 99% he despises? Newt and his Republican friends are grossly mistaken in their assumption that the 99% are  made up of dirty, uneducated and even unemployed people.

If Newt does become the Republican nominee, then he’d better keep in mind that the 99% are the ones who will be selecting the next president, and we’ll just assume he actually wants the presidency since he is campaigning. But knowing the character Newt is, we expect a flip-flop in the future. If he is the nominee, Gingrich will plead amnesia on this, and many other issues, that are getting him in hot, dirty water.

Newt Gingrich – Fire Janitors, Hire Kids Instead

We normally allow idiotic statements from Republican presidential candidates to fall by the way side. Not every foolish phrase they make needs coverage. Take for example; Michele Bachmann. If we covered every silly statement Bachmann made, EzKool would single-handedly reduce the unemployment rate due to all the extra help we’d need. So we’ll pick and chose what Republican nonsense we cover.

Like the latest from Newt Gingrich.

He’s been on a rampage lately, trying to out-do himself on the turnip truck that is the Republican party. At a Harvard event Friday night, Gingrich spoke about poverty and how labor laws are keeping kids entrapped. So what was the Republican’s solution? Let your kids become Janitors.

“You say to somebody, you shouldn’t go to work before you’re what, 14, 16 years of age, fine. You’re totally poor. You’re in a school that is failing with a teacher that is failing. I’ve tried for years to have a very simple model,” he said. “Most of these schools ought to get rid of the unionized janitors, have one master janitor and pay local students to take care of the school. The kids would actually do work, they would have cash, they would have pride in the schools, they’d begin the process of rising.”

He added, “You go out and talk to people, as I do, you go out and talk to people who are really successful in one generation. They all started their first job between nine and 14 years of age. They all were either selling newspapers, going door to door, they were doing something, they were washing cars.”

Newt Gingrich – Spanish Is The Language Of The Ghetto

Newt Gingrich is now the leading Republican trying to beat President Obama in 2012. Gingrich, in the latest polls, has 25% of the votes, Herman Cain has 21% and Mitt Romney has 19%.

So naturally, the billions of questionable statements Gingrich has made since living his entire life in politics, are being looked at again.

The following gem, is apparently Gingrich’s way of gaining the Hispanic vote, by calling Spanish the “ghetto language.”

With Newt Gingrich emerging as serious contender, some Republicans are questioning his fitness for a general election campaign by seizing on comments the former speaker made in 2007 about Hispanics.

Making the case against bi-lingual education at a National Federation of Republican Women event, Gingrich said children should be taught “the language of prosperity, not the language of living in a ghetto.”

In the wake of his comments, Gingrich recorded a video in rudimentary Spanish, saying: “The words I chose to express myself were not the best.

Now let all the ghetto speakers head to the polls. Newt and his Republican buddies need your votes.

Rick Perry Does The Moonwalk – New Poll Numbers

The Texas disaster that is Rick Perry continues with his unintended withdrawal from the Republican presidential nomination process, as new poll numbers shows him now tied with Herman Cain for the number 2 slot behind the new leader of the pact, Mitt Romney.

A Washington Post/ABC News poll out Tuesday shows businessman Herman Cain has tied Perry for second place behind frontrunner Mitt Romney. Romney is at 25 percent while Cain and Perry each get 16 percent.

But the trajectory is an indicator of the men’s fortunes. The Texas governor has fallen 13 percentage points since the last poll while Cain has risen 12 in the last month.

As for the rest of the pack, Texas Rep. Ron Paul reaches double digits with 11 percent while former House speaker Newt Gingrich and Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann are holding at 7 percent. Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum is at 2 percent while former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman is holding at 1 percent.

The poll surveyed 1,002 people from September 29th to October 2nd.

Newt Gingrich Says Fellow Republicans Not Smart Enough For White House

Newt is trying to get his 15 minutes in the spotlight, and his recent comments about being the smartest among the rest of his fellow Republicans running for President is nothing more than his attempt to be, as Sarah Palin would put it, the flavor of the week.

At a Best Western breakfast yesterday, Gingrich told the audience why they should vote for him over his Republican rivals.

“I’m not running against any of my friends, they’re all good people. But if you watch them and watch me, the difference in the depth of knowledge and the difference in the ability to debate Obama, the difference in actually having done it at the national level, I can’t only think if you’re worried about the future of the country and you’re worried about how we get the country fixed, I’m a pretty good mechanic who knows how to fix the car and the other folks are good at selling it.

“They’re nice people, but they don’t have the knowledge to do something like this on this scale. This is enormously complicated.”

For some reason, I can definitely see what Gingrich is talking about. Except in the case of George Bush whose stupidity kept many comedians employed, the White House occupant has most always been a person who was smart enough to handle all the rigorous demands of the office. No one, not Rick Perry, not Mitt Romney, not Michele Bachmann or Herman Cain… and not even old Newt himself. None of these jokers have demonstrated to the American people that they have what it takes.

And speaking of jokers –  if you are looking for a good laugh, look no further than the next Republican debate.

Bachmann Slams Pawlenty In Iowa Debate

Unlike the last two Republican love fests, last night’s debate actually felt like a real competition. The Republican contestants tried separating themselves from each other and questioned the decision making or lack thereof of their rivals.

Ron Paul and Rick Santorum briefly engaged in their little match when foreign policies and America’s role in other nations were involved. Between these two, Iran’s attempt to acquire nuclear weapons was a hot topic, with Paul suggesting that a nuclear Iran poses no threat to America, therefore, they should be left alone to do what they believe is in their best interest. Santorum took opposition to this, and the heated battle was on.

Then Newt Gingrich took offense at Chris Wallace asking him questions about his campaign and statements he had made in the past. Apparently, Gingrich believes his decision to run for President means questions about his political history,  public statements or past actions that he should accountable for, should be off limits.

Chris Wallace: “How do you respond to people who say that your campaign has been a mess so far?”

Newt Gingrich: “I took seriously Bret’s injunction to put aside the talking points,” he said, referring to a request Wallace’s co-host Bret Baier had made at the start of the debate. Newt continued, “And I wish you would put aside the gotcha questions…I’d love to see the rest of tonight’s debate asking us about what we would do to lead America…instead of playing Mickey Mouse games.”

Chris Wallace:  “If you think questions about your record are Mickey Mouse, I’m sorry. I think those are questions that a lot of people want to hear answers to and you’re responsible for your record, sir.”

Newt Gingrich: “I think that there’s too much attention paid by the press corps to the campaign minutiae and not enough paid by the press corps to the basic ideas that distinguish us from Barack Obama.”

The audience cheered.

But the most interesting part of the debate in my view, happened between Tim Pawlenty and Michelle Bachmann. Being in next to last place in his presidential campaign, Mr. Pawlenty felt the need to make up some ground. He also didn’t want to miss another opportunity to separate himself from the bunch, as he did in the last debate when he was asked to explain a statement he previously made, in which he called Mitt Romney’s health care plan in Massachusetts, Obamny Care – combining both Obama and Romney’s name together to say their healthcare policies are the same.

So when he was asked to explain a statement he made about Michele Bachmann and her lack of accomplishments in Congress,  Mr. Pawlenty took the opportunity and went on attack mode. Unfortunately for him, Bachmann was already sitting in the bushes with her sniper gear on, staring down the scope of her rifle. In her view, the unsuspecting Pawlenty.

Gingrich Campaign Is Financially Busted

ATLANTA –Newt Gingrich’s presidential campaign is more than $1 million in debt, according to his campaign disclosure provided to The Associated Press on Friday.

The former House speaker’s campaign raised $2.1 million since he got into the race earlier this year. But he spent $1.8 million, and listed $1.03 million in debt, including more than $100,000 in legal fees. Gingrich listed $322,222 cash on hand.

His campaigners said he had received contributions from 20,217 donors, with 17,959 donating $100 or less.

Gingrich’s White House bid has struggled since 18 staff members – consultants and advisers, including his two chief fundraisers – resigned earlier this year. He scaled back his spending, flying commercial airlines rather than taking corporate jets.

Obama Kicked Off Stage For Dissing Republicans – Video

LOL! – Okay, okay… It wasn’t really President Obama, but he was a very good impersonator. His name is Reggie Brown, and he appeared at a Republican organized event, where bashing the President was on the menu. Republicans in the audience laughed at the sight of the president look-alike criticizing Barack Obama, but when Reggie turned the tables on the 2012 Republican presidential contenders, organizers quickly kicked Brown off stage.

Newt Gingrich’s Moral Dilemma Number 866

Picture this for a second…

You start a non-profit charity that deals mostly in religion and faith issues. You then write a book for profit, then get your non-profit charity to buy your books and DVD’s. The non-profit charity that you started, then paid $220,000 to another for-profit company, a company that you also started.

Well, if you’re like me, you’ll see something very wrong here. Your non-profit company giving your for-profit company $220,ooo just seems to be breaking – if nothing else – some moral ethical barriers. But apparently, if you’re a Republican running for President of the United States, and if your name is Newt Gingrich, this behavior is not only accepted, but welcomed.

The charity, Renewing American Leadership, not only featured Gingrich on its website and in fundraising letters, it also paid $220,000 over two years to one of Gingrich’s for-profit companies, Gingrich Communications. It purchased cases of Gingrich’s books and bought up copies of DVDs produced by another of the former House speaker’s entities, Gingrich Productions.

“The spirit of operating a non-profit organization is to work for the public good regardless of the politics that are involved,” said Daniel Borochoff, president of the American Institute of Philanthropy, in an interview with ABC News. “I believe it violates that spirit.”

Asked about the allegations this morning prior to a speech in New Hampshire, Gingrich urged an ABC News reporter to focus on his speech.

“I’m not concerned about that. The American people aren’t concerned about that. Try covering the speech,” Gingrich said as he left a campaign event. When the reporter tried to follow up, Gingrich got in his waiting car and slammed the door.

And all Anthony Weiner did was send texts to different ladies, and he’s being ask to resign? Really?

Republican Mice Played In Debate While Democratic Cat Was Away

Remember the old saying, ‘when the cat’s away, the mouse will play?’ Well last night’s Republican presidential “debate” showed seven, count ’em… seven mice running around the stage in New Hampshire, having a grand ole time. And with the cat – President Obama – out of town on a fundraising event, all seven mice took turns at attacking the cat, instead of showing the differences among themselves. After all, was it not a debate?

The lead mouse, Mitt Romney answered just about every question asked with the same answer: that President Obama “has failed to lead.” Mr. Romney, what is your answer to the economic crises we’re in right now? “Mr. Obama has failed to lead.” Mr. Romney, what will you do about jobs? “Mr. Obama has failed to lead.” Mr. Romney, what color is your tie? “Mr. Obama has failed to lead.” To be more exact, Romney said;

“This president has failed, and he’s failed at a time when the American people counted on him to create jobs and get the economy growing.”  Any one of the people on this stage would be a better president than President Obama.”

And the people, or other mice that Romney referred to? Rick Don’t Google His Name Santorom, Michele Don’t know American History Bachmann, Ron Against The Civil Rights Act Paul, Herman Pizza-man Cain, Tim Super Dork Pawlenty and Newt Flipp Flopper Gingrich. So there they were, seven mice running around the stage, each trying to prove that while the cat was away doing his fundraiser, they are more than capable of carrying the biggest piece of cheese.

The blame game continued.

Herman Cain, when asked what his administration would do to create jobs?  “The thing we need to do is to get this economy boosted. This economy is stalled. It’s like a train on the tracks with no engine. And the administration has simply been putting all of this money in the caboose.”

Rick Santorom, picking up where Herman Cain left off, chimed in with, “Yeah, I think we need a president who’s optimistic, who has a pro-growth agenda.”

Question for Tim Pawlenty – talk about your economic plan. Pawlenty’s answer? ” This president is a declinist. He views America as one of equals around the world.” Then Mitt Romney continued the love-fest… sorry, debate. “This president has failed. And he’s failed at a time when the American people counted on him to create jobs and get the economy growing. And instead of doing that, he delegated the stimulus to Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, and then he did what he wanted to do: card-check, cap-and-trade, Obamacare, reregulation.” Not to be left out in the cold, Newt Gingrich added, “The Obama administration is an anti-jobs, anti-business, anti- American energy destructive force.”

Ron Paul, asked by the moderator if there was anything nice he can say about the president, replied, “No, no, I can’t think of anything.”

But the biggest cheese carrier of the night has to go to Michele Bachmann, who, among other things, claimed that the Teaparty “is really made up of disaffected Democrats, independents, people who’ve never been political a day in their life.” Funny as that statement was, Bachmann opened her mouth again and this claim fell out, “we need everybody to come together because we’re going to win. Just make no mistake about it. I want to announce tonight. President Obama is a one-term president.”

Yes, Michele, we will take your word on that… just like we believed you when you claimed that the Founding Fathers “worked tirelessly until slavery was no more in the United States.”

We won’t tell anyone the little truth that the Founders were all dead by the time slavery was abolished. Just our little secret Michele.
