Echoing an op-ed she published this week on the Breitbart website, Palin said impeachment was the only device Congress could use to halt the actions of what she described as an “imperial President.”
“The one tool they have are articles of impeachment, let’s get going on that,” she said.
They’re ringing the impeachment bell, but no one, not Sarah Palin, not John Boehner, not any other congressional Republican are saying exactly what the president has done that warrants impeachment.
Now I’ve officially heard it all. The 17 year old, whose name is being withheld for obvious reasons, is being asked by the court to have police take a picture of his erect penis.
According to a warrant obtained by the Manassas City police and Prince William County prosecutors, the 17-year-old is to accompany police to the hospital where he is expected to expose himself in an aroused state, and have his erect penis photographed.
The teenager is facing child pornography chargers because of an alleged incident involving his 15 year old girlfriend who sent him text messages containing sexually explicit photos. He allegedly text her of a sex video.
One of the teen’s lawyers, Jessica Harbeson Foster, said she was told that the police would “just take him down to the hospital, give him a shot and then take the pictures that we need.” So far, a local judge has allowed the teen to avoid the warrant, the Post reported, letting him leave the area without complying.
“The prosecutor’s job is to seek justice,” Foster said. “What is just about this? How does this advance the interest of the Commonwealth? This is a 17-year-old who goes to school every day, plays football, has never been in trouble with the law before. Now he’s saddled with two felonies and the implication that he’s a sexual predator. I don’t mind trying the case. My goal is to stop the search warrant. I don’t want him to go through that. Taking him down to the hospital so he can get an erection in front of all those cops, that’s traumatizing.”
Law enforcement officials declined to comment to the Post. The next court date in the case is July 15.
Democrats and Republicans cannot agree on much in today’s politics, but the two came together to grant citizenship to Bernardo de Gálvez y Madrid, the Viscount of Gálvez who died over 200 years ago as a hero of the American Revolution.
He’s the eponym of Galveston, Texas, having led battles against the British at Pensacola and along the Gulf Coast.
Congress has only given “honorary” citizenship to seven people, including Winston Churchill and more prominent Revolutionary heroes like the Marquis de Lafayette and Count Casimir Pulaski.
Gálvez appears to be the first native Spanish-speaker to get the designation — at a time when the House hasn’t acted on Senate-passed immigration legislation, which includes a path to citizenship for millions of immigrants who came here illegally.
The House Judiciary Committee is set to act on the bill later this week.

Now they claimed that this headline and the article that goes with it was actually written in support of the president, mocking the blatant racists who oppose the president simply because he is black. But to me that doesn’t matter. There are just certain things that should not be said and this is one of them.
“Not to raise their voices” and not to talk too much. That ladies, is Fox’s advice to you. According to these brainiacs, keeping your mouths shut is the secret to success.
Fox News host and proud card carrying member if the Knuckle dragging community, Steve Doocy introduced Sylvia Ann Hewlett’s book, Executive Presence, by advising that women should wear “well-cut jeans with a colorful top,” while an on-screen graphic told them “not to raise their voices.”
Co-host Anna Kooiman, however, argued that “women shouldn’t be so focused on what we look like, and what we’re wearing, but what our mind can do.”
“Also a little thing that you think is important is your presentation and your voice,” co-host Brian Kilmeade added. “Keep it low, don’t speak loud.”
“For women,” Doocy emphasized.
Hewlett explained that a lot of women from the South were taught to “fill the air with words… but oftentimes that undermines you, just rambling.”
The Fourth of July is always a great time to revisit what makes the United States a great nation, and I always come back to the same characteristic: Compromise. There is probably nothing more American than our genius for compromise, even more so than apple pie and motherhood, both of which were invented by people who didn’t live here in the first place. But compromise? We are good at that, and the reason I think we’re in the political quagmire we find ourselves in today is because we’ve stopped compromising, and I blame the Tea Party for this situation.
I know the right wing likes to blame President Obama or Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid for not compromising when the Democrats had the majority from 2009-2011, but the truth is that all three of them did offer opportunities for the Republicans to support the health care law that, after all, was the brainchild of conservative scholars who thought it a far better idea than what the Clintons were peddling in the 1990s. The same is true for the Dodd-Frank bill and the stimulus package, which had far too many Republican tax breaks and not enough in grass-roots spending to be fully effective. But at least those laws got passed.
The problem today is that the Tea Party-inspired GOP has become the party that has consistently traded the good for the perfect and has come up empty each time. They could have had a grand bargain twice that cut social programs and the deficit, but because it didn’t go far enough, the Tea Party faction in the House wouldn’t support it. The same is true of the ACA, which the right still wants to repeal, and a whole host of other issues where we could actually have made some progress and then improved the legislation down the road, but because the bills required compromise, the Tea Party was not interested.
I fully understand that this is sometimes the way politics goes in this country, but this time it seems different because now the right is saying that they, and only they, interpret the Constitution as it should be analyzed, so anything that runs afoul of that reading is wrong and un-American. This is the dangerous part of their agenda and the one that runs directly against their reading of American history, because they reject compromise of any sort.
This country, plain and simply, was built on compromise. The Declaration of Independence was a compromise that mentioned freedom and equality but didn’t mention slavery. The Constitution was a compromise over commerce, slavery and representation. The run-up to the Civil War included a number of compromises that in the end could not satisfy the southerners who decided that slavery was a protected right and got the Supreme Court to agree with them. Financial legislation, social legislation, immigration laws and even US foreign policy in the era of the great world wars had elements of compromise.
FDR compromised, as did every other president we’ve ever elected. You’d think that Ronald Reagan was some great pillar of conservatism who blocked everything the Democrats sent him over eight years, but he compromised too. He cut taxes and then raised them. He signed a compromise immigration law and a tax overhaul that had both liberal and conservative elements. He bargained with terrorists after saying he would never do that. George H.W. Bush, who I think will be rehabilitated once historians get into the meat of his administration, did the absolute right thing by raising taxes to fight the budget deficit in the early 1990s.
You get the picture, I presume.
Lack of compromise is political suicide, and that’s a lesson that the Tea Party will ultimately learn. The more savvy politicians know that you need to get what you can given the political mood and realities of the times. Then you run on your successes and build on them. That’s how the Republicans ran the country until the 1930s and how the liberals ran things until the 1990s. Since then, what has government really accomplished? It’s so bad now it took the threat of massive disruptions to get a Farm Bill. Bob Dole couldn’t even convince his fellow Republicans to back a measure that would support people with physical disabilities.
We’ll get through this and people will look back and wonder how it ever got so bad. If the Tea Party persists, though, they will become a historic party.
It baffles my mind to see the extent at which these people go to prove that racism still exists, in spite of the laughable recent Supreme Court decision that said racism was dead.
In Norfolk Nebraska, the patriotism was strong as residents celebrated the 4th of July festivities. Onlookers lined the parade route as different floats went by. Then there were loud laughter and applause as a specific float made its way along route.
Perched on a flatbed truck was an outhouse with a dark figurine of president Obama dressed in overalls and propped up by a metal walker. And nailed to the sides of the wooden latrine were two signs, in all cap letters that read, “OBAMA PRESIDENTIAL LIBRARY.”
“We don’t feel it’s right to tell someone what they can and can’t express,” said parade committee member Rick Konopasek. “This was political satire. If we start saying no to certain floats we might as well not have a parade at all.”
Konopasek cited the fact that the float received loud applause from the onlookers as the reason why it wasn’t racist or offensive, saying “its obvious the majority of the community liked it. So should we deny the 95 percent of those that liked it their rights, just for the 5% of people who are upset?”
Rick also said that the community is predominantly conservative. And he admitted that it would have gone against free speech and the 4th of July independence celebration, to deny the float’s entry into the parade. With that said, sexually explicit floats will not get the same freedom of expression rights Rick awarded the Obama hating float. According to the parade organizers, sexually based floats were denied participation in the parade.
It is abhorrent and absolutely disgraceful that in 2014 racial prejudice and intolerance still exist and is so outwardly expressed.
There is no consideration given to the marred history of this country. A history based in slavery, lynchings, and some of the most vile acts committed against any group of people. And it is even worse that this intolerance is the ideology adopted by the Republican party.
A California Highway Patrol officer was caught on tape punching a woman on the side of a Los Angeles highway on Tuesday.
The video posted on YouTube shows the cop pursuing the woman on foot past an I-10 on-ramp. Those recording it can be heard laughing at first. (Warning: video contains NSFW language).
But the laughs quickly subside as the cop grabs the woman, who is either pulled down or falls to the ground, and then repeatedly punches her.
CHP says the officer asked the woman to stop, but she refused and continued to walk away from him.
“A physical altercation ensued as the pedestrian continued to resist arrest, at which point a plain clothes, off duty officer assisted in applying the handcuffs,” the CHP said in a statement given to KABC.
The woman refused to give her name and is identified only as “Jane Doe.” KABC says she was taken to a hospital for physical and mental evaluation.

On this Independence Day they are celebrating the right to carry a gun anywhere they want in Georgia. Notice I don’t put the words “great state” in front of Georgia. That’s because it isn’t. Never really was.
Yes you can open carry your gun anywhere. Into churches, restaurants, schools, movie theaters and of course bars. As the rest of the civilized world works to bring down gun violence by instituting stricter gun laws the good ole US of A goes backwards in time. Back before the O.K. Corral. Which happened because some insane cowboys decided they didn’t want to hand in their weapons to Wyatt Earp while they were in Tombstone.
The insane cowboys don’t have to worry about that anymore because now they don’t have to hand in their weapons before they enter town. In fact they can get drunk and carry at the same time. Great country America! No not really!
But you have to wonder, I mean just think for a minute. Why now? Why weren’t these open carry laws passed by state legislatures before? Like…I dunno…when Bill Clinton was President? Or when George W. Bush was President? I mean what could the difference be now? I can’t quite put my finger on it….
Oh wait! Barack Obama, the black guy, is President! You know, the black dude who will take your guns away and give them to the Black Panthers. Am I dating myself? Oh OK..the Bloods and the Crips. Actually when those people carry weapons they are called criminals and thugs. Happy open carriers are no longer so happy. But when Billy Bob Joe Buck Billy Joe Bobby Bubba Joe carry their weapons into a Target (hopefully not anymore) or a Home Depot..well that is just them exercising their Second Amendment rights ain’t it?
Well there have already been problems of course. You see according to the new law, citizens OR police are NOT allowed to ask someone carrying a weapon to show their gun permit.
Let’s look closer at that. As of less than a year ago a police officer could stop a black person on the streets of NYC and frisk them with no questions asked. However in Georgia if someone is carrying a deadly weapon they cannot be asked to show their license to carry that weapon by a police officer. This is your America folks.
I have a question. How does someone know if the person carrying that gun is a good guy with a gun or a bad guy with a gun? Can anyone answer that? Wayne LaPierre maybe?
I guess you just have to wait until someone takes their gun out and shoots up a store or a church or a school. Then the good guys with the guns can shoot back, maybe killing a few innocent people after the bad guy has already had time to kill a few as well. So the bad guys with the guns have to be allowed to shoot first? Is that the way this works Georgia?
The law is called “guns everywhere.” It’s a response to the paranoia around a black President taking the guns away from white folk. That and the threat of him sending in drones and the military to kill them and in the process take away their freedoms!
Of course he hasn’t taken one gun away and there have been no laws to take guns away just laws to allow more guns.
None of this matters to the gun nuts. They are insane. They are certifiable in their anti black President paranoia fantasy land.
Here is a fantasy of mine. It would be like if we were in a real life Tarantino movie. All of the gun nuts are standing in a circle, they all take their guns out, point them at one another and systematically blow each other away. This happens around the state of Georgia and anywhere else there are “guns everywhere” laws.
