While I agree with Mrs. Whoopi on many issues, this one in particular is a no-brainer. I know how I feel about torture and the so-called, “enhanced interrogation” methods the CIA used to “get information” from suspected terrorists. I am totally against it! We are supposed to be better than that. ‘American Exceptionalism,’ remember?
On Wednesday’s episode of The View however, Goldberg tried to explain her confusion.
“I don’t know how I feel about it,” she said one day after Senate Democrats released a report detailing extensive abuses, “Because on one hand, I do know there are other countries that have done it, and it’s reaped quite good benefits for them. I don’t know if that’s what we’re supposed to be doing. But I’m not surprised that other countries that we’ve gone over to and pointed the finger at, are now pointing the finger at us.”
Rosie O’Donnell responded that President Ronald Reagan took part in “banning” torture, via the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. “So this is not a partisan issue,” she said. “This is an issue of national security and identity.”
The 43 year old Jada posted the picture of her mother, Adrienne Banfield-Jones, a few days ago, saying, “Willow took this shot of her grandmother, my mother, emerging from the ocean today. She is 61! I wanna be her when I grow up:) Happy Friday… J.”
Lol… I wanna be like her too Jada. All I can say is WOW!
It’s Darren Wilson can shoot and kill an unarmed teenager and get away without even being tried in court, then why can’t Ray Rice, who did an unspeakable thing of beating his wife, why can’t he get a second chance?
Well, seems like he is getting another chance. Rice, who was suspended indefinitely earlier this year for beating and knocking out his wife in an elevator, got the news that his indefinite suspension from the NFL is officially over.
“The suspension has been vacated,” George Atallah, the assistant executive director of external affairs for the players’ union, said.
Rice issued a written statement thanking his supporters, “most importantly, my wife Janay.”
“I made an inexcusable mistake and accept full responsibility for my actions,” Rice said, referring to two disturbing videos that show him knocking out his now-wife, Janay Rice, on an elevator in a casino in Atlantic City on February 15. “I am thankful that there was a proper appeals process in place to address this issue.”
He said he will continue to work hard to improve himself and learn from his mistakes.
BET’s long running television program “106 & Park” is coming to an end, but hold on, don’t run to your window screaming, ‘I am mad as hell and I’m not gonna take it any more,’ because the program will continue on the network’s website in a digital format only.
After an impressive 14-year run, the final show as we know it will tape on December 19th, according to a statement released by Stephen Hill, President of BET’s Music Programming. “All of us have been touched by 106 & Park,” he said, “Now it’s time for 106 & Park, as a daily TV entity, to take a bow and exit.”
Below is the rest of Hill’s statement.
AJ accepting Janet Jackson’s challenge to…dance. Bow Wow laying that kiss on Tyra Banks(or was it the other way around?). Free crawling around the set LIKE Catwoman WITH Catwoman Halle Berry. Julissa’s taking over Halloween as “Wonder Woman”. Keshia brilliantly bonding with First Lady Michelle Obama. Paigion flying around the world with Rihanna on a 777. Rocsi salsa dancing with Victor Cruz and putting him to shame. Shorty and Ms. Mykie’s killer rap “The History of Justin Timberlake”, visably thrilling JT himself. Terrence on the beat boxing while Jamie Foxx rhymed. Tigger making Tom Cruise do the of-the-moment “motorcycle dance”.
We all have our favorite moments from the show that has put youth culture on television daily since the first year of this century. We have pride in being involved with the show that has welcomed almost every movie star, music superstar, and fresh faced talent you can name (you can even throw in a First Lady). We’ve all laughed with and been entertained by the young men and women hosts that have charmed us at 6pm (and more recently 5pm) each weekday.
All of us have been touched by 106 & Park.
Now it’s time for 106 & Park, as a daily TV entity, to take a bow and exit.
It’s been a great 14 year run as America’s top music/variety show on cable. And now that very valuable brand is going to take its talents to the digital realm. The interactive brand you helped build, 106 & Park, is alive and well…and it’s moving to the space in which our audience NOW interacts with music the most; online. It’ll be very exciting to connect with the millions of people that are already engaged with 106 & Park and other BET digital and social media entities and bring content that will further evolve the 106 & Park brand…and enhance the overall BET Networks brand. As we transition to the digital space, we look to continue 106 & Park’s role as both a leader of and a mirror to youth culture. We’ll have more information to share about how that is to roll out very soon.
And 106 & Park will still have specials on BET. What’s a New Year’s Eve without 106 & Party? 106 & Park Presents: 106 & Party will be on-air to take our viewers into the beginning of the second half of this decade in a big way. And when it’s time for the BET Awards to come around, you can be sure that 106 & Park Presents: Live, Red and Ready will be ushering you into the show and that 106 & Park will be an integral part of the BET Experience.
I’m not trying to minimize it; this is a very big change. We thank all the people who have worked on the show over the years; the talented hosts, the hard-working staff, production crews, and all the incredible guests we’ve had. Most of all, we’d like to humbly thank the “livest audience”, both in studio and at home, who fueled this landmark TV show from the very beginning. Meet you in the digital domain.
106 & Park will have its final daily on-air show on BET on December 19th.

Forty three year old comedian Kat Williams and Suge Knight – founder of Death Row Records – were arrested and charged with robbery after a paparazzi accused the two entertainers of ripping off an expensive camera, MSN Entertainment reports.

After making the statement about a month ago that she was “not an African American but I am American,” 28-year old Raven-Symoné received much backlash from social media and those in the blogosphere. Her statement prompted her to issue an explanation on her Facebook page and in another interview with thegrio, Simone elaborated.
“I never said I wasn’t black … I want to make that very clear. I said, I am not African-American,” Symoné said. “I never expected my personal beliefs and comments to spark such emotion in people. I think it is only positive when we can openly discuss race and being labeled in America.”
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder, Oscar Taveras, has been killed in a car accident in the Dominican Republic. Taveras’ family has confirmed the accident which also claimed the life of his girlfriend. Taveras was 22 years old and had a bright future ahead of him. Just 13 days ago, he hit a game tying home run against the Giants in the NLCS.
Oscar Taveras was described as the present and future of the Cardinals offense. Today, the baseball world mourns his loss.
One of my Facebook friends shared this video on his profile and I felt the need to share it here, with all of you. Trust me, you’ll thank me for this one.
A Corpus Christi, Tex. man accidentally shot and killed his 16-year-old brother Sunday night, police told South Texas TV station Kiii News.

Word on the street is that Tyler James Williams, the actor who starred in the television show “Everybody Hates Chris,” has apparently landed a role in TV’s mega-hit show, The Walking Dead. There is no word on when Tyler would make his début or under what circumstance, but he has been seen mulling around the set of the AMC popular zombie show in Atlanta.
His character is expected to be called ‘Noah.’
According to “Spoiling Dead Fans,” Tyler is possible the man seen following Beth as she ran from the hospital in Season 5. Spoiling Dead Fans also said that Tyler seems to fit the description of the unidentified man seen filming with Rick, Ty, Glenn and Michonne.
I guess we will find out soon enough. The Walking Dead Season 5 premiers October 13th, 2014
