Americans To Republicans – Leave ObamaCare Alone, Move On Already!

A new poll by the Kaiser Family Foundation taken after the Supreme Court upheld ObamaCare finds a majority of Americans are tired of the Republican’s efforts to repeal President Obama’s Healthcare law.

This poll fielded following the Supreme Court’s decision upholding the heart of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) finds a majority of Americans (56 percent) now say they would like to see the law’s detractors stop their efforts to block its implementation and move on to other national problems.

Democrats overwhelmingly say opponents should move on to other issues (82 percent), as do half (51 percent) of independents and a quarter (26 percent) of Republicans.  But, seven in ten Republicans (69 percent) say they want to see efforts to stop the law continue, a view shared by 41 percent of independents and 14 percent of Democrats.

The public is also divided in its emotional reaction to the decision, with similar shares reporting being angry (17 percent) and enthusiastic (18 percent).  Negative emotions run highest among Republicans who support the Tea Party movement, with 49 percent of this group saying they are angry at the decision.

But what Americans want means nothing to Republicans, as John Boehner and Mitch McConnell are still promising to repeal the law.

Crazy Allen West Tells Followers – Obama Wants You To Be His Slave

PORT ST. LUCIE — Republican Rep. Allen West kicked off his Treasure Coast campaign for congressional District 18 on Sunday with a rally, during which he criticized President Obama on a variety of issues, using phrases and language guaranteed to get attention.

“He does not want you to have the self-esteem of getting up and earning and having that title of American. He’d rather you be his slave,” said West.

“I am offended by some of the things he says and does,” said Martin County Sheriff Robert Crowder, West’s challenger in the Aug. 14 primary.

Outside the rally, about 30 protesters held signs and chanted, declaring their distaste for the man speaking inside the Port St. Lucie Civic Center.

Mitt Romney Invested $75 Million In Company That Destroyed Fetuses

What will Christian Conservatives say when they realized that Mitt Romney invested heavily in a company that disposed of aborted fetuses? They probably wouldn’t say much. For some strange reason, these people in the Republican party who calls themselves “Christians,” have found a way to forget the teachings of their Faith and hold on to their political ideology instead.

And right now, their political ideology revolves around Mitt Romney.

A report highlighted by The Daily Kos referenced another story in Mother Jones that looked at some of Mitt Romney’s investment. Mother Jones pointed out that in 1999, Mitt Romney invested $75 million in a company named Stericycle – a medical-waste disposal firm that has been attacked by anti-abortion groups for disposing aborted fetuses collected from family planning clinics.

Spokespeople from Bain Capital – the company founded by Mitt Romney – tried to distance Mr. Romney from the investment. They claim that Mitt Romney had already left Bain when this investment was made. But Mother Jones found reports filed by the Stericycle with the Securities and Exchange Commission that completely contradicted Bain’s claims.

Mother Jones Reports:

Documents filed by Bain and Stericycle with the Securities and Exchange Commission—and obtained by Mother Joneslist Romney as an active participant in the investment. And this deal helped Stericycle, a company with a poor safety record, grow, while yielding tens of millions of dollars in profits for Romney and his partners. The documents—one of which was signed by Romney—also contradict the official account of Romney’s exit from Bain.

Mitt Romney once believed in a woman’s right to choose but for political reasons, he changed and is pro-life. And no matter what a woman decides to do with her body, Romney and Republicans believe they should have the final say and should be allowed to force that woman to do whatever they want her to do.

And now that we’re finding out that Mitt Romney was at the heart of getting rid of fetuses, the Christians in his party are conspicuously quiet!

Justice Roberts Switched Vote To Uphold President’s Health Care Law

(CBS News) Chief Justice John Roberts initially sided with the Supreme Court’s four conservative justices to strike down the heart of President Obama’s health care reform law, the Affordable Care Act, but later changed his position and formed an alliance with liberals to uphold the bulk of the law, according to two sources with specific knowledge of the deliberations.

Roberts then withstood a month-long, desperate campaign to bring him back to his original position, the sources said. Ironically, Justice Anthony Kennedy – believed by many conservatives to be the justice most likely to defect and vote for the law – led the effort to try to bring Roberts back to the fold.

“He was relentless,” one source said of Kennedy’s efforts. “He was very engaged in this.”

But this time, Roberts held firm. And so the conservatives handed him their own message which, as one justice put it, essentially translated into, “You’re on your own.”

Republicans Plan for The Uninsured? – Providing Insurance To You Is “Not The Issue”

Senate Republican Minority Leader Mitch McConnell appeared in friendly territory on Fox News Sunday and explained the Republican Insurance System to the American people. Their system boils down to – You don’t have health insurance? Tough! That is not the issue.

No kidding. McConnell was asked by Fox host Chris Wallace to explain what Republicans are planning to do with the 30 million uninsured Americans if they succeed in repealing President Obama’s health care law. After failing to answer the questions on different occasions, McConnell settled on saying that providing insurance to these people was not the issue.

Before The Words Fell From Romney’s Lips, His Campaign Confirmed He Was Lying

In Mitt Romney‘s never ending chameleon performance on issues facing Americans, Talking Points Memo highlights another obvious change or flip flop by the leader of the Republican party, (and I use that word as loosely as possible… after all, we are talking about Mitt Romney).

Speaking to Newsmax about immigration on Friday, Chameleon, I mean… Romney said this:

“For those that are here as the children of those who came here illegally, I want to make sure they have a permanent answer to what their status will be,” Romney said in the interview, “and I’ve indicated in my view that those who serve in the military and have advanced degrees would certainly qualify for that kind of permanent status.”

But before the words fell from Romney’s lips, his campaign put out a statement confirming that Romney didn’t know what he was talking about. In the campaign’s statement, Romney “misspoke.”

Said the statement to TPM: “The Governor was referring to his long held position that young illegal immigrants brought here as children who serve in the military should be able to obtain legal permanent residence and that we should staple a green card to the diploma of every eligible student visa holder who graduates from one of our universities with an advanced degree in math, science, or engineering,” Williams said. “He simply misspoke in this interview.”

Or as we like to call it, lying!

Understanding ObamaCare Benefits For Seniors – Video

The Affordable Healthcare Act signed into law by President Obama has benefits for the entire nation. But especially for our most vulnerable citizens, the seniors.

  • Under the health care law, your existing guaranteed Medicare-covered benefits won’t be reduced or taken away. Neither will your ability to choose your own doctor.
  • Nearly 4 million people with Medicare received cost reliefduring the law’s first year. If you had Medicare prescription drug coverage and had to pay for your drugs in the coverage gap known as the “donut hole,” you received a one-time, tax free $250 rebate from Medicare to help pay for your prescriptions.
  • If you have high prescription drug costs that put you in the donut hole, you now get a 50% discount on covered brand-name drugs while you’re in the donut hole. Between today and 2020, you’ll get continuous Medicare coverage for your prescription drugs. The donut hole will be closed completely by 2020.
  • Medicare covers certain preventive services without charging you the Part B coinsurance or deductible. You will also be offered a free annual wellness exam.
  • The life of the Medicare Trust Fund will be extended as a result of reducing waste, fraud and abuse, and slowing cost growth in Medicare, which will provide you with future cost savings on your premiums and coinsurance.

Christian Republicans Believe In Caring For The Sick, But They’re Against ObamaCare?

“It is the view that Christians should vote their values, and this means we should legislate moral evils into oblivion. Thus if we believe life begins at conception, we should vote against abortion! If we believe marriage is between one woman and one man, we should vote against gay marriage! And if we believe in caring for the sick and the poor, we should vote against “Obamacare!” … Wait a minute!”

That is a quote from David J. Dunn, an Orthodox lay theologian who is questioning the apparent hypocrisy being demonstrated by the Christian Republicans in this country. Mr. Dunn wrote a piece in The Huffington Post highlighting three moral issues Christian Republicans base their votes on – Abortions, Gay Marriage and Health care.

“Do you see the political hypocrisy?” Mr. Dunn asks. “The Christian Right votes for candidates who are anti-abortion and anti-gay (at least on paper) because it believes we must pass laws to protect marriage and protect life (at least embryonic life), but it is unwilling to apply the same principle to “Obamacare.” Infants in the womb have a right to life, but apparently adults do not have a right to life-saving medical care.”

He continues;

Opponents of the individual mandate argue that the state cannot force citizens to buy health insurance. That is a violation of our individual rights. But conservative Christians are willing to consider subjecting women to transvaginal ultrasounds before undergoing an abortion. Taxing people without insurance is intrusive, but apparently shoving something up one’s body is not.

Mr. Dunn brought his piece to a rather eye-opening conclusion: “In the Bible, Cain grew jealous of his brother Abel and killed him. This was the first murder. When God asked Cain where Abel was, he feigned ignorance and replied, “Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Gen. 4:9). Christians who oppose the Affordable Care Act are not murdering Abel, but they are willing to let him die, lest the taxes of others be raised! Apparently Abel must suffer to death so that our individual rights are preserved.”

Weekly Presidential Address: President Thanks Colorado Firefighters

President Obama toured the devastation in Colorado and delivered his weekly address from the fire-plagued Colorado Springs. Mr. Obama thanked the firefighters for their hard work in trying to bring the fires under control.

Firefighters are working 18 hours a day, around the clock, trying to make sure that they get this blaze under control.  We’ve got volunteers who are out here who are making sure that these firefighters have the food and the water and all the resources that they need.  And we’ve been engaging in some unprecedented coordination between federal, state, and local communities to try to bring this fire under control.

And one of the things I’ve done here, in addition to saying thank you to these firefighters, is to let them know that all of America has their back.  One of the things that happens, whether it’s a fire here in Colorado, or a tornado in Alabama or Missouri, or a flood or a hurricane in Florida, one of the things that happens here in America is when we see our fellow citizens in trouble and having difficulty, we come together as one American family, as one community.  And you see that spirit and you see that strength here in Colorado Springs, where people are working together, promising each other to rebuild.  We’ve got to make sure that we are there with them every step of the way, even after this fire is put out.

Teaparty Republican Wishes Colon Cancer on Five Supreme Court Judges

Former Town Councilor Mike Malzone, the founder of the Merrimack Tea Party, said Thursday in a Facebook post reacting to the Supreme Court ruling on health care, “I hope the (5 supremes) get colon cancer.”

A day after posting the message, Malzone said he stands by what he said. He clarified that he doesn’t want anyone to die, and the cancer reference was more to make a point that he wants them to feel the pain being inflicted on Americans being overburdened by taxes.

“I didn’t wish for anyone to die, but I said I do wish for them to feel our pain,” he said. “No one cares about me, they all make their promises and then go do what they goddamn feel.”

Malzone, who briefly considered running against Congressman Frank Guinta, posted the message on the Merrimack Tea Facebook page.

Mr. President, This Is A Big F*ing Deal – Part 2

As Donald Trump would say, what the Supreme Court did Thursday in upholding President Obama’s Affordable Healthcare Act is “HUGE!”

Even Mitt Romney realized the magnitude of what would happen if ObamaCare was declared constitutional. On the days leading up to the Court’s decision, Mitt Romney was heard at various campaign events saying, “if this law is unconstitutional, that would prove that Obama wasted his presidency.”

Needless to say, the Supreme Court – whose main task is to interpret laws in accordance with the Constitution of the United States – disagreed with Mitt Romney wholeheartedly.

But if we are to apply Romney’s logic to this, wouldn’t it mean that the President’s first term was not wasted but turned out to be a tremendous success? Wouldn’t it then mean that President Obama has done his job in accordance to the Constitution – approved and validated by the highest Court in the land – and furthermore, if we apply Romney’s logic to this situation, wouldn’t it mean that Romney, with his everlasting calls to repeal ObamaCare, is going against a Supreme Court that called the law constitutional, thus, is he not going against the United States Constitution?

When President signed the Affordable Health Care Act into law in 2010, Vice President Biden was overheard whispering in the President’s ear, “Mr President, this is a big f*cking deal.” With the Supreme validating the constitutionality of the law on Thursday, consider this a big f*cking deal… part 2!

And by the way, why exactly are Republicans pushing Mitt Romney as their presidential candidate? The  man is apparently against the Constitution of the United States.

Supreme Court Says ObamaCare Is Good

The Supreme Court upheld President Obama’s health care law today in a splintered, complex opinion that gives Obama a major election-year victory.

Basically, a bare majority of the justices said that the individual mandate — the requirement that most Americans buy health insurance or pay a fine — is constitutional as a tax.

“Because the Constitution permits such a tax, it is not our role to forbid it, or to pass upon its wisdom or fairness,” wrote Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in an opinion that reflected a 5-4 vote on on the question.

Roberts — a conservative appointed by President George W. Bush — provided a key vote to preserve the landmark health care law, which figures to be a major issue in Obama’s re-election bid against Republican opponent Mitt Romney.
