Report: Under Romney’s Health Care Plan, Uninsured Will Increase To 72 Million

If there are more uninsured, then more people will use the emergency rooms as their primary care, then more Americans with insurance will be asked to pay more on their policies to cover these emergency room visits by the uninsured, then insurance companies will make more profit from the increase in premiums, then Romney’s plan to put more money in the pockets of the rich will be complete.

The analysis by the Commonwealth Fund, a New York-based health care research foundation, found that under Romney’s health care plan, the uninsured population would soar to 72 million by 2022 — 12 million higher than if nothing had been done at all.

By contrast, if President Barack Obama’s health care law is fully implemented — including complete state participation in the now voluntary Medicaid expansion — the number of uninsured people would drop from 47.9 million in 2011 to about 27.1 million people in 2022, the report estimated.

The Commonwealth Fund produces studies that often cast the national health care law in a favorable light, and spotlight the shortcomings of the American health care system compared to other countries.

Stephen Colbert Is Angry At “Those Liberal Hacks” At Fox News

Stephen Colbert is angry… well… maybe…! Apparently there are some “liberal hacks” at Fox News who thought they could ask the Republican vice presidential candidate questions in an interview. The nerve!

Ryan, the Republican candidate for vice-president, had a contentious interview with Chris Wallace over the 20 percent across-the-board tax cut he and GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney have proposed.

Colbert brushed off a study Wallace cited saying the plan would cost the U.S. $5 trillion over 10 years.

“True, not true, who cares?” Colbert said. “It’s over 10 years. Romney and Ryan will only be in office for eight of those. Let President [Michele] Bachmann worry about it in 2020. That’s what hindsight is for.”

Colbert was also unimpressed by Wallace’s refusal to accept Ryan’s explanation that the cuts were “revenue-neutral” and praised Ryan for saying it would “take too long” to explain the figures behind the proposal.

“Great answer,” Colbert said. “Why is it a great answer? It would take me too long to explain, but trust me, it was a great answer.”

Even In 2006, Barack Obama Praised RomneyCare – Video

Mitt Romney is running a breakneck speed trying to distance himself from the healthcare law he signed into effect as governor in Massachusetts. Why is he running? Because Massachusetts healthcare is a very successful program that laid the foundation for President Obama’s Affordable Health Care, also called ObamaCare. He’s also running away because, among other things, RomneyCare contains the dreaded mandate that Republicans suddenly despise.

Some may think it is purely politics that Democrats would praise RomneyCare as the foundation for ObamaCare. After all, the more Democrats could tie Romney to ObamaCare, the more explaining Romney would have to do. But thanks to BuzzFeed and this newly uncovered video, it seems that Democrats are genuinely appreciative of RomneyCare… at least one Democrat name Barack Obama.

In 2006, then Senator Barack Obama lauded praise on Romney’s healthcare law, saying that his fellow Democrats should take a page from RomneyCare;

“Everybody has to buy in and then the government helps out those who can’t afford it. Those kinds of bold initiatives, I think, the Democrats have to put forward. If, in fact, we can credibly claim that we can run the country and not simply criticize from the sidelines.”

Republican Businessman: “I Don’t Know Why Any Woman Would Vote For Romney.”

Retired Ohio businessman Wayne Butterfass says he’s voted Republican all his life, but can’t believe what he’s seeing this year in the Republican Party.

“Obama was handed an economy on the skids, after eight years of Bush,” Butterfass said in an email. “All he ever did was think about war. I’m afraid Romney will do the same, especially the trickle-down theory.

“I don’t know why any woman or gay would ever vote for Romney. All you have to do is look at the Republican platform. I’ve never seen such HATE this year in the Republican Party, national or state.”

As Sarah Jones notes at PoliticusUSA, “Wayne Butterfass is not alone is his disgust with his former party. According to Stan Greenberg, the Republican Party has lost 5 points in voter identification over the past month. He writes, ‘Contempt for the Republicans is pushing Democrats into the lead, not only in the presidential race but across Senate and likely many House races as well’.”

Gay Veteran To Mitt Romney – “You Will Never Be My President!” – Video

Mitt Romney was in the restaurant. He strolled over to a table and sat down next to a man who just happened to be a veteran… a gay veteran. Seeing Mr. Romney sitting next to him, the veteran asked Mr. Romney a question that was of importance to him.

“How do you feel about marriage equality Mr. Romney?”

“I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman,” Romney happily responded, unaware that he was talking to a gay man. He apparently expected the elderly man to smile approvingly, after all, the man was in his 60’s and common knowledge suggests that elderly people will generally be against same-sex marriage.

But Romney soon realized he was wrong about this particular elder and after a brief and uncomfortable discussion, Romney was quickly ushered away from the table.

The veteran was angry, and told reporters that Romney will not get his vote. “He will never be president,” he said. “At least not my president!”

Republican Women – We Will Vote For President Obama in November

Republican women have seen the light. They are witness to the obvious assault the men in their party are waging on them and they are saying enough with the party-first-me-second mentality. They are demanding the respect they deserve, but respect in today’s Republican party doesn’t come easily, so these women are taking matters into their own hands. They are voting for policies that protect their lives. They are voting for President Obama this November.

Mitt Romney Is Now Less Popular Than George Bush – Poll

Apparently Mitt Romney is now less popular than… George W. Bush.

That’s according to a new Bloomberg News poll, which finds that former President Bush has 46 percent favorable ratings and 49 percent unfavorable ratings among adults. By contrast, the current GOP presidential candidate Romney has a favorability rating of 43 percent and unfavorable ratings at 50 percent.

President Barack Obama came in with higher favorability than both Republicans, racking up 52 favorable ratings and 44 percent unfavorables.

Romney did, however, beat out Vice President Joe Biden‘s 42 percent net favorable ratings.

The poll’s most favorable leader found was former President Bill Clinton, who polled at 64 percent favorable and 29 percent unfavorable. Coming in second was First Lady Michelle Obama, with 63 favorable and 29 unfavorable.

Another New Poll – President Obama Leads Romney in New Hampshire

President Obama has a seven-point lead over Mitt Romney in New Hampshire but they’re neck-and-neck in North Carolina and Nevada, according to new swing state polling.

Likely voters in the NBC/Wall Street Journal/Marist Institutepolls released last night prefer Obama 51%-44% in New Hampshire, where Romney has a vacation home. Obama leads Romney by 2 percentage points each in North Carolina and Nevada, but the numbers are within the margin of error.

The findings track other recent polling in these battlegrounds — among about a dozen states where the presidential contest will likely be decided.

Obama’s standing in these polls has been aided by improved perceptions about the direction of the country, especially in New Hampshire.

Mitt Romney Makes An Ad In Favor Of President Obama’s Re-Election – Ad

Not much to say about this ad because Mitt Romney does all the talking.

Who knew that when Mitt Romney gathered some of his rich friends for a private fundraiser and decided to crucify half of America by calling them lazy good-for-nothing bums… who knew he’ll be making an ad for the President’s re-election campaign.

Mitt Romney – Bain Was Formed To “Harvest” Companies For Potential Profit

Another gem from Mother Jones:

In the clip below, Mitt Romney is describing the real reason for Bain. Not to act as a job creator like Romney often says, but to invest in other companies with the hopes that in five to eight years, Bain could “harvest” to make a profit.

I’ll let Romney explain in his own words:

Bain Capital is an investment partnership which was formed to invest in startup companies and ongoing companies, then to take an active hand in managing them and hopefully, five to eight years later, to harvest them at a significant profit…

Yes, we all know the real reason anyone goes into business is to make a profit. But if you listen to Mitt Romney on the campaign trail, he will have you believe that Bain existed for the sole purpose of creating jobs. Romney is often heard saying, “I know how to create jobs. I’ve done it before,” and he attacks the president, falsely stating that Mr. Obama’s policies “destroys jobs.”

We’ve seen ads from the Obama reelection team detailing companies that went bankrupt after they were bought by Bain, while Romney and his investors walked away with huge profits. Romney’s campaign usually respond by saying that Bain created more jobs than were lost. His campaign also points to Staples as their success story. But hearing Romney’s mission statement in the video, it seems that Staples’ success was in spite of Bain’s intervention, not because of it.

Here’s the video, filmed in 1985.

Samuel Jackson Rhymes: Wake The F*ck Up. Vote For Obama – Video

The video below is sponsored by the Jewish Council on Education and Research Super PAC. It stars Samuel Jackson and his co-star, “little Suzie.” In the vocal tradition of his audio book for children, “Go the F*ck To Sleep,” Jackson begins the piece;

“In the silvery moonlight that bathed every town,

the people lie dreaming so safe and so sound.

They’re warm in their beds, snuggled up in their sheets,

But four years before, they were out in the streets.

Now, it’s as if they don’t know what’s at stake,

All except one girl, wide-eyed and awake.”

“Little Suzie is to worried to sleep,

She can’t figure out why her family is so placid.

It’s like they don’t know that Romney and his veep,

Will remake the country in ways that are drastic.

She read his platform and it scared he to death,

She’s got to do something, while there’s still time left.”
