Sarah Palin is Endorsing Greg Abbott Because of Ted Nugent

The failed half term governor from Alaska turned political celebrity to the right winged nitwits, made her very important announcement on her Facebook page, explaining that if Nugent is campaigning with Abbott, then all is well in the universe.

“If he is good enough for Ted Nugent, he is good enough for me!” Palin wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday.

Abbott, currently serving as the state’s attorney general and challenging Democrat Wendy Davis, came under fire this week after inviting Nugent to campaign with him. The musician recently made offensive remarks about the president, who he called a “subhuman mongrel” in a January interview.

Abbott said Nugent would be joining him on the trail to expose Davis’s position on gun rights and the musician already appeared at an event Tuesday.

Palin wrote that Abbott is “a believer in the power of liberty and the need to defend our freedoms from the overreach of an out-of-control federal government.”

Pat Robertson Resorts To Stupidity – No Climate Change, ’cause “it’s Freezing” Outside

It’s winter and it’s cold outside, so Climate Change is therefore a hoax. I know you’ve heard that before. It’s a favorite calling card for the stupid… that is, it’s a favorite calling card for the Republicans. Today’s candidate to demonstrate the stupidity? Pat Robertson.

Responding to a comment made by Secretary of State John Kerry that Climate Change is “the greatest problem of our generation,” in the same category with poverty, terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, Pat Robertson felt the need to respond and he chose the dumbest talking point in the Republican arsenal.

“I don’t know where Kerry has been spending his time,” Robertson said, “but maybe he’s so wealthy they have a special house that has tropical plants in it so he feels like he’s in the tropics, but for the rest of us, it’s been cold as the Dickens!”

“It’s idiocy and they’re laughing at people who go outside and it’s freezing!”

McDonald’s Fired Worker Who Paid for Firefighters’ Food – Video

Fired for doing a good deed. The firefighters had just finished putting out a fire in the freezing temperatures and visited the McDonald’s where Heather Levia worked. The worker offered to pay for their meal and when she returned to work the next day, she was fired.

Heather, 23, from Olean, New York, has worked at McDonald’s for eight years, has twins at home and is putting herself through nursing school.

She says she knows what it is like to work hard. So when the firefighters came in and ordered 25 breakfast sandwiches and hash browns, Levia paid the $92 bill herself.

When a second department ordered $70 of food, Levia texted her boss to see if the company would pay the tab. But when her boss said no, Levia and other workers again picked up the bill.

“Just because I appreciate everything they do,” she told WIVB.

After the firefighters found out that Levia had paid for the food herself, some firefighters called her boss and complained.

Facebook is Buying WhatsApp for $19 Billion

(Reuters) – Facebook Inc will buy fast-growing mobile-messaging startup WhatsApp for $19 billion in cash and stock, as the world’s largest social network looks for ways to boost its popularity, especially among a younger crowd.

The acquisition of the hot messaging service with more than 450 million users around the world stunned many Silicon Valley observers with its lofty price tag.

But it underscores Facebook’s determination to win the market for messaging, an indispensable utility in a mobile era.

Combining text messaging and social networking, messaging apps provide a quick way for smartphone users to trade everything from brief texts to flirtatious pictures to YouTube clips — bypassing the need to pay wireless carriers for messaging services.

And it helps Facebook tap teens who will eschew the mainstream social networks and prefer WhatsApp and rivals such as Line and WeChat, which have exploded in size as mobile messaging takes off.

Brian McKnight in Tax Troubles – Files Lawsuit Against His Accountant

Now this one here is a shame. Clean cut R&B artist Brian McKnight, known especially for his 1997 hit “Anytime” and another hut in 1999 “Back At One,” apparently hasn’t paid taxes in a decade, and he is blaming his accountant.

McKnight has filed a lawsuit against Vernon Brown and Company, claiming Brown ruined his life by not paying ANY of Brian’s taxes for close to a decade … resulting not only in more than a million bucks in back taxes, but more than $500K in penalties and interest.

Here’s how bad McKnight says it got … In the lawsuit he claims Brown knew he screwed up and secretly contacted Congressman Henry Waxman and gave him a phony sob story that got Waxman to contact the IRS and get McKnight back on an installment plan.

McKnight says Brown was so bad he screwed up the installment plan and the taxes were never paid.

McKnight says his credit is now crap, his house has a lien, his music royalties have been frozen and his life is in shambles.  Not only that, McKnight says his driver’s license has been suspended for failing to pay back taxes, and because his son shares the same name HIS license was suspended as well.

And here’s an honor no one wants … McKnight says he landed on California’s Top 500 Delinquent Taxpayers.

Something he can put on his mantle … next to his Soul Train Music Award.

The Confederate Flag Goes Mainstream in Georgia

(AP) — Georgia officials have once again approved a specialty license plate featuring the Confederate battle flag, infuriating civil rights advocates and renewing a debate among those who believe the symbol honors Confederate heritage and those who see it as racially charged.

The Georgia division of the Sons of Confederate Veterans requested the new plate design, and the Georgia Department of Revenue recently approved it. The group’s old plate had a small Confederate battle flag. The new one features an additional, larger image in the background that covers the entire plate.

Spokesman Ray McBerry said the group meant no offense and views the plates as a way for people to honor their heritage.

“We believe that everyone has the right to preserve their heritage,” he said. “Southerners have as much right to be proud of their heritage as anybody else.”

Southern Christian Leadership Conference spokesman Maynard Eaton told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution the state shouldn’t have sanctioned the move.

“To display this is reprehensible,” Eaton said. “We don’t have license plates saying ‘Black Power.'”

Gov. Nathan Deal said Tuesday that he was unaware of the plate.

“I hadn’t heard that, so I don’t know anything about it,” Deal said. “I’ll have to talk to them about it. I had no information in advance about it.”

Jon Stewart Dissects The Michael Dunn Case and Verdict – Video

It was Jon Stewart’s turn to respond to the travesty that is the Michael Dunn verdict. Dunn, who drove up to, engaged in, shot 10 bullets into a car containing four teenagers and killing one of them in the process, was convicted over the weekend of trying to kill the teenagers, but received no conviction on the child he did kill.

Stewart began his piece reminding us of another Floridian case involving George Zimmerman, where he approached another innocent teenager, attacked and killed him. Justice for that teenager – Trayvon Martin – never materialized as his killer walked away a free man because his lawyer somehow convinced a jury that Martin attacked Zimmerman with a sidewalk.

The Jury bought it.

After fully dissecting the lies testimony of this second Floridian case involving Michael Dunn and the teenager he murdered – Jordan Davis – Stewart looked at the not guilty verdict and concluded that the apparent message Floridians wanted to convey was, “if you fire a gun, you better fucking hit somebody, ’cause if there’s one thing Floridians don’t tolerate, it’s survivors.”

He also brought correspondent Jessica Williams into the conversation. Williams had some recommendations for teenagers in Florida… black male teenagers that is, because based on these two cases and the outcome, black male teenagers in Florida are easily targeted. One of her recommendations was to ‘stay in school…” As in, stay indoors. Do not go outside!

Jessica concluded that the “Stand Your Ground Law” which helps these murders and murderers to walk free, cannot be used by black people. She says that the law works best for whites because it’s like bleach working wonders for whites, while destroying colors.

Confessed Serial Killer too Evil for Satan

Confessed serial killer Miranda Barbour is giving Satan a bad name  — so says the high priest for the Church of Satan who says she’s just too wicked.

TMZ broke the story … Barbour confessed to committing between 22 and 100 murders … saying she was compelled to kill by the devil after joining a cult in Alaska.

High Priest Peter H. Gilmore tells TMZ … the official Church of Satan has never had any involvement with Barbour … and would NEVER accept her as a member.

Gilmore tells TMZ … true Satanists don’t believe in murder (not even sacrifices) … and if Barbour is truly a killer she should get the death penalty.

Gilmore says his church is not a cult but a legally recognized atheist organization … adding Barbour is simply using Satan as justification for her crimes.

In other words, the devil DIDN’T make her do it.

New Study – Missouri Murder Rate Rise with Easier Access to Guns

A new study has found that around 60 more people have been murdered each year since the state of Missouri made it easier to buy a handguns without going through a background check.

In the study which will be published in an issue of the Journal of Urban Health, a team of researchers led by Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Policy and Research Director Daniel Webster found that between 55 to 63 more people were murdered each year after Missouri repealed its permit-to-purchase (PTP) handgun law in 2007.

“This study provides compelling confirmation that weaknesses in firearm laws lead to deaths from gun violence,” Webster said in a press release. “There is strong evidence to support the idea that the repeal of Missouri’s handgun purchaser licensing law contributed to dozens of additional murders in Missouri each year since the law was changed.”

Newt Gingrich and Wolf Blitzer Spar Over Ted Nugent’s Disrespect for Obama – Video

I had lost all hope for Wolf Blitzer. No, I had lost all hope for CNN. The network was quickly travelling down the same road as Fox News, catering to sensational “journalism” and leaving the American people factless.

Tonight however, Wolf Blitzer gained some of that respect back. Not because he stood up for a Democratic President, but because he stood up for what was right. Which means that Newt Gingrich stood up for what was wrong. Hey, he’s a Republican.

The controversy surrounds a statement Ted Nugent made, where he called the President of the United States a “subhuman mongrel.” In an interview with Guns.com, Nugent said;

“I have obviously failed to galvanize and prod, if not shame enough Americans to be ever vigilant not to let a Chicago communist-raised, communist-educated, communist-nurtured subhuman mongrel like the acorn community organizer gangster Barack Hussein Obama to weasel his way into the top office of authority in the United States of America.”

The name calling by itself is not a news maker considering that it came from Ted Nugent. What made this statement especially horrendous was when it was amplified by the poor judgement of an official trying to be the next governor of Texas. GOP gubernatorial nominee Greg Abbott invited Nugent to speak at a campaign event and that is where the ‘subhuman mongrel’ controversy erupted.

Wolf Blitzer, like much of the rest of the country – not counting Republicans and the Teaparty – thought a gubernatorial nominee regardless of party, should not be associating himself or a campaign event with the likes of Ted Nugent. Blitzer invited Gingrich on his show to talk about the Nugent/Abbott association and that is where the sparring took place.
