Father Gets Tased By Police As He Grieved Over His Dead Son – Video

Police brutality and excessive force are all over the news today, but these unfortunate characteristics of some police officers were around for a long time now. This incident happened over 2 years ago, but the circumstances and the players are the same.

When Reverend Earl Baldwin got the news that his step son was shot and killed trying to break up a fight, he rushed to the hospital to see his son. The sight of his son understandably overcame the Reverend and his emotions took over. The tears flowed as he hugged the lifeless body of his 23-year old son, Mileek Grissom, and the reverend began saying a prayer for his son.

This was apparently too much for the police officers in the room, as they unanimously decided that the father had overstepped his bounds and had to stop. They began trying to get the grieving father away from his son and finding that task a little more difficult for them to do, a taser was pulled out and the father was tased.

Somehow I think the color of his skin had something to do with why the Reverend no, the father of a dead child, was tased. But that’s just my opinion. According to the hospital, the police officers were justified in using excessive force because Baldwin they claim, was in the way of doctors trying to revive his son.

His son was dead mind you, but the doctors couldn’t figure that one out!

“Clearly this was a stressful situation and a tragic loss for this family,” the hospital said in a statement. “However, the allegations about the circumstances are inaccurate.”

Of coruse, Baldwin disagree with the hospital’s assertions.

“Watch the video,” said Baldwins’ attorney, Joel Sansone. “Not only was the child not being treated. The child was dead.”

Suspect in Hannah Graham’s Disappearance Also Questioned in 2002 Rape Case

According to reports by CNN, Jesse Matthew, a suspect in the disappearance of University of Virginia student Hannah Graham, was questioned in connection with an alleged sexual assault nearly 12 years ago, authorities said Thursday.

However, no charges were filed because the woman didn’t want to go forward with the case and investigators determined there wasn’t enough evidence to arrest Matthew, said Michael Doucette, the commonwealth’s attorney for Lynchburg, Virginia.

According to a statement from Lynchburg police, a woman reported she was raped on the campus of Liberty University on October 17, 2002.

Matthew told authorities that the woman consented, Doucette said, adding that there were no witnesses.

On Thursday, Matthew was sitting in a Texas jail cell, waiting for Virginia authorities to pick him up and take him back to Charlottesville, where he has been sought in the Graham case on suspicion of abduction with the intent to defile.

Ferguson Police Chief’s Apology Sparks More Protests and Arrests – Video

One way to look at this is to say, at least the police chief has apologized. Another way to look at it is, what the hell was he thinking, or was he thinking?

There are still a lot of raw emotions in Ferguson two months after police officer Darren Wilson gunned down an innocent, unarmed teenager. The people of Ferguson stood by for hours and watched as the Ferguson police left Mike Brown’s body in the street, their anger growing as the seconds ticked by. And the people watched as the Ferguson police transformed into their war fatigues, employing snipers prepared to kill again if need be, to stop them from exercising their constitutional rights to protest Brown’s murder.

So yes, the people are angry! And an apology from the Police Chief was not going to calm their nerves or soothe their anger. It was not going to reverse the actions of the police. His apology was not going to bring back Mike Brown or get Darren Wilson arrested.

Yes, Darren Wilson is still in hiding, still collecting a paycheck and still being protected by the police. And here comes the Chief of Police with his apology!

I thought it was okay when the chief, Tom Jackson, apologized on video. I listened to the apology and saw the resemblance of a man who possible had feelings, possible understood the pain the community felt. And I, although I’m not directly connected to Ferguson, I accepted his apology. I was okay with it, believing that the man somehow cared. But that apology should have stayed on video. Going out to the streets like the Chief did last night, showed a callous lack of understanding, an insensitivity to the pain still saturating the community. His apology tour in the street of Ferguson made him look like all he was doing was making a selfish attempt to clear his name and take the target off his back.

The people was not having it, and again, for a short while as the Chief tried to pacify the situation with his apology, the riots ensued and we were, once again, reliving the Ferguson protests!

Thanks Chief!

Watch Jon Stewart’s Controversial Segment Between RedSkins Fans and Native Americans

There has been a call to change the name of the Washington Redskins because of its obviously racial connotations, but the team’s owner and unbelievably many fans of the team, don’t see a need for the name change. As far as they are concerned, it doesn’t matter that there are people who are offended by the name and the racist foundation of it’s meaning.

Jon Stewart from The Daily Show brought together the fans of The Washington Red Skins and Native American Indians in a segment called, “Catching Racism.” Watch the reactions as the two groups meet, particularly the reaction of the fans.

Oklahoma Man Beheads One Woman, Brutally Stabs Another

“This suspect was angry about some sort of incident that happened at the business,” Sgt. Jeremy Lewis of the Moore Police Department said. “These women really had nothing to do with that. He was just acting out against them. They are the first people he came in contact with.”

Alton Nolen, who recently converted to Islam and was actively trying to convert his fellow co-workers, was fired from his job at Vaughan Foods in Moore, Oklahoma. Shortly after being fired, Nolen returned to the location and brutally beheaded the first person he saw, 54-year-old Colleen Hufford.

The 30-year-old Nolen then brutally and repeatedly stabbed another woman 43-year-old Traci Johnson, before he was shot by Mark Vaughan, the Chief Operating officer at Vaughan Foods.

“He’s a hero in this situation,” Lewis said of Mark Vaughan. “It could have gotten a lot worse.”

Nolen did not know either victim.

“They just happened to be in his way as he came in upset,” Lewis said.

Nolen was taken to a nearby hospital and expected to survive, police said. He has not yet been charged with a crime.

Johnson was in stable condition and also expected to recover.

Congressional Cowards Decide to Run Away From a War Vote This Year

John Boehner, the Republican House Speaker  and leader of the cowards in the House of Representatives, told The New York Times that the goal of this Congress has absolutely nothing to do with the Constitution. The leader of the congressional cowards explained their main goal is sitting back and waiting ’till next year when hopefully that congress will have a backbone and do what is required of them.

Are you aware that we are fighting a war? The United States is leading a the fight against ISIS, or ISIL as they are called by White House personnel. And according to the United States Constitution, it is the job of Congress to declare war. But this is an election year and the cowards in Congress are more concerned with appearing favorably in the eyes of their constituents.

These cowards want to be reelected, and holding a vote for or against war could have negative effects on their reelection chances. So they have decided to do nothing – like they have done since taking office – hoping that the next congress in 2015 will be brave enough to actually do what the Constitution demands.

In his interview with the New York Times, Boehner explained that a new congress would be the ones holding this vote on war! The war we have already began fighting.

Doing this with a whole group of members who are on their way out the door, I don’t think that is the right way to handle this.”

The amazing and ironic thing is that John Boehner and the Republicans in Congress are currently suing President Obama for following his constitutional authorities. They claim that the President is doing too much through Executive Privileges, and they are taking the president to court to essentially stop him from working. This war against ISIS, or ISIL as thery are called by White House personnel, is the work of the President. Knowing that congress would not act, the President is yet again, left holding the bag, doing it on his own.

But what about the Constitution, the document every member of Congress swore to uphold when they took office? What should happen when these members, these congressional cowards decide for whatever reason, to turn their back on the the very document they are supposed to follow? That Constitution, that document containing the rules, the regulations and what is expected of every member of Congress. That document they pledged to follow. What happens when they choose to rip that document to pieces?

Republicans say their are the protectors of the Constitution. They print it up into little booklets and it is required reading by all when it fits their politics. But when their leaders blatantly disregard the document, blatantly refuse to follow its requirements, these same “protectors of the Constitution” turn a blind eye and vote again, and again, to keep their so-called ‘leaders’ in office.

And somewhere along the way, our democracy suffers and the society that separates us from the rest of the world crumbles. These so-called leaders are ripping apart the very fabric of what makes us exceptional, but, whatever. No one cares!

Various Glitches Discovered in iOS 8

Apple’s newest iPhones ran into some glitches Wednesday after users complained that a new software update blocked their calls, while a widely circulated video showed the larger of the two new models is vulnerable to bending, MSN reports.

Apple said it would stop providing the software update, which it began distributing Wednesday morning to fix several issues in last week’s iOS 8 operating system for iPhones and iPads.

The decision to pull the update came after some people complained on Twitter and in Apple user chatrooms that the update, dubbed iOS 8.0.1, rendered their phones unable to make calls and caused problems with a feature that lets people unlock their phones with their fingerprint.

By midday Wednesday, Apple announced that it was investigating the reports and would issue advice to users “as quickly as we can.” Users are still able to the upgrade older phones to last week’s version of iOS 8, which Apple said has already been downloaded to nearly half of all iOS devices.

Elizabeth Warren to Women – We Must Vote in November

Senator Elizabeth Warren has been on the campaign trail recently, trying to get as many Democrats elected in Congress as she possibly can. And with the midterm elections just around the corner, Warren is calling on other women voters to go to the polls and make a difference.

“If you don’t have a seat at the table, you’re probably on the menu,” Warren told the largely female audience at an event on Monday for Emily’s List, a group supporting pro-choice candidates nationally. “Washington works for those who have power. And no one gives up power easily, no one…Nobody’s just going to say ‘women have arrived and let’s just move over’…We have a chance but we have to fight for it.”

Warren went onto urge donors to specifically vote for candidates in tough reelection campaigns, including Sens. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Kay Hagan (D-N.C). Their opponents are former senator Scott Brown and GOP candidate Thom Tillis, respectively.
