Rick Santorum on Pope Francis: “Sometimes very difficult to listen to the pope”

Rick Santorum, a proud Republican, a failed Republican presidential candidate and a devout Catholic, is apparently not too fund of the Pope, especially when the Pope is talking… in interviews!

In an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt on Tuesday, Santorum appeared baffled by recent remarks by the Pope suggesting that faithful Catholics need not procreate “like rabbits.”

“Sometimes very difficult to listen to the Pope and some of the things he says off the cuff, and this is one of them,” Santorum, a professed Catholic, said.

“When he speaks as the leader of the Catholic Church, I’ll certainly pay attention,” the former senator continued. “But when he speaks in interviews, he’s giving his own opinions, which I certainly will listen to, but from my perspective, that doesn’t reflect the idea that people shouldn’t be fruitful and multiply, and that people should be open to life as something that is a core value of the faith and of the Catholic Church.”

Santorum went on to repeat several times, “I don’t know what the Pope was referring to here.”

Meghan McCain to Mitt Romney – Save Your Family, Don’t Run in 2016

But will The Mittens listen? I doubt it. Chances are the American people will have yet another chance to tell Romney NO… Again… for the third time!

In a column on the Washington Post, McCain apple about the hurt and pain she suffered as her dad ran and lost in previous presidential contests.

Those of us who’ve been through it multiple times, who’ve watched our parents be rejected by the American public more than once? We make up a weird, lonely island of political misfit toys. I’m on it. So are the Romneys. And when I think about what they might go through again, if their father runs a third time, I shudder.

Don’t get me wrong. I like Mitt Romney. I like his wife and children. But take it from someone who knows – being the direct spawn of a presidential nominee is arduous and excruciatingly public. It’s an experience that will always hold a very special place in my heart, but I wouldn’t put myself or my family through it again for anything in the world. And it’s inconceivable to me that anyone else would either – especially after losing as your party’s most recent nominee.

Undercover Republican Bob Menendez Says Obama’s Talking Points Come “Straight from Tehran”

Someone please remind me, why is this dude called a “Democrat” again? He fights with Obama more than McConnell does! His latest battle with the administration came after Obama said in the State of the Union address, that if any bill comes before his desk recommending sanctions for Iran, he would veto them.

The administration’s goal of course, is to turn back the clock on Iran’s nuclear weapon development, and since lifting some sanctions on the Iran’s government, noted progress is seen as Iran slows down their nuclear ambitions. Menendez has always been against lifting certain sanctions and wants to impose more. So hearing about Obama’s veto threat made Menendez fume.

“The more I hear from the administration and its quotes, the more it sounds like talking points that come straight out of Tehran,” Menendez said. “And it feeds to the Iranian narrative of victimization, when they are the ones with original sin — an illicit nuclear weapons program going back over the course of 20 years that they are unwilling to come clean on.”

Menendez and Obama reportedly got into a tense exchange over the nuclear talks last week at the Senate Democratic Issues conference, according to the New York Times.

Two anonymous sources who witnessed the exchange told the newspaper that Menendez said he took “personal offense” at the President’s urging lawmakers not to pursue sanctions against Iran for short-term political gain.

NJ Cops Kill Black Motorist who Tried to Exit his Vehicle “Peacefully” – Video

More police brutality anyone? This time, in New Jersey. The incident happened on December 30th but the dashboard-cam video was just released. It shows a motorist trying to peacefully exit his vehicle with his hands raised, then killed by what appears to be a couple of trigger happy officers who apparently thought the raised hands of the motorist were threatening.

Police in Bridgeton pulled over the car in which Jerame Reid was a passenger on December 30th. Prosecutors said that “during the course of the stop a handgun was revealed and later recovered,” but witnesses said that Officers Braheme Days and Roger Worley opened fire and killed Reid as he was peacefully exiting the vehicle.

Tahli Dawkins told the Press of Atlantic City that he watched the officers approaching the car yelling, “Don’t effing move!” and that they opened fire without provocation.

Denzel Mosley told KYW-TV that Reid’s hands were “in plain sight,” and that the officers “were telling him, ‘Get out [of] the car,’” then yelling “‘Stop!’ and they started shooting.”

Ben Mosley — a retired sheriff’s deputy — said that Reid may have attempted to get back into the car when the officers yelled the contradictory order to “Stop!” but that he did not believe that justified firing upon him.

“I saw a disarmed man go down to the ground and get shot,” Mosley said. “That’s exactly what I saw.”

The video — obtained by the Press of Atlantic City but not released to the public — confirmed these eye-witness accounts.

Fox News Willfully Misleads – Implies That Obama is “Raising” Taxes on The Middle Class

One of the many specifics proposed by President Obama in this year’s State of The Union Address was lowing the taxes on middle class workers. To pay for this, the president has proposed closing tax loopholes and increasing Capital Gains taxes on the top 1%. But over at Fox News, they are hearing a completely different thing as they willfully mislead their audience into believing that what the president proposed will raise their taxes.

Look at their onscreen graphic. It asks the audience if Obama’s tax plan amounts to “Raising Your Taxes?”

Or maybe Fox is right. Maybe the only people watching their network now is the top 1%

Obama Clobbered Republicans in SOTU – This Meme Explains Perfectly

While President Obama gave his State of The Union Address last night, there was a line in his speech where he praised the fact that he is not running for office again. To this line, some Republicans in the chamber began applauding and laughing sarcastically, but Obama’s comeback to their excitement was priceless.

“I have no more campaigns to run,” Obama said. At this point the Republican applauds began, but Obama shot back, “I know because I won both of them.”

That response almost broke Twitter, as memes popped up all over the place demonstrating how the president clobbered the Republicans. In my view, this meme below was the best one yet!

The Hug – President Obama and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

The hug was real and it permeated through the chamber for all to see. And it was refreshing, considering the last midterm elections when spineless Democrats made a frantic dash away from the president and his successful policies. Heck, one of them did not even want to say if she voted for the man. But in last night’s State Of The Union Address, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg showed those spineless Democrats how it should be done.

It should be noted that those Democrats who ran away from the president lost their reelection. Apparently the voters turned their backs on those politicians after they turned their backs on the president.

“She is one of my favorite people,” Obama told The New Yorker in 2014, after the 81-year-old associate justice was rushed to the hospital with a blocked artery. Following her hospitalization, Ginsburg brushed aside suggestions that she step down from the bench while Obama is still in office. The president told the magazine at the time: “Life tenure means she gets to decide, not anybody else, when she chooses to go.”

It’s clear that the warm feelings are mutual between Ginsburg and Obama, who had a special bond even before he was elected president.

“When the Court had one of its occasional dinners for members of the Senate, Ginsburg asked that Obama be seated at her table,” wrote Supreme Court expert Jeffrey Toobin.

Ginsburg has served on the Supreme Court since 1993, when she was appointed by then-President Bill Clinton. Since then, she has become famous for her advocacy for women’s rights, perhaps most notably her blistering dissent in the Hobby Lobby case, and her strong opposition to the court’s Citizens United decision, which she said she wished she could overrule.

Real Life Afghan Villager Who Saved “Lone Survivor” Now Facing Death Threats

It is a great movie – Lone Survivor. I sat on the edge of my seat and watched  in horror as the events unfold, this Navy Seal fighting for his life against a group of Taliban fighters and the tremendous obstacles he faced trying to stay alive. Out of the four Navy Seals who ventured out on this special mission, only one survived and he survived only because of the help of an Afghan villager.

The movie is based on true events. The lone survivor is a Navy Seal named Marcus Luttrell and the Afghan who helped save his life is Mohammad Gulab.

Mohammad Gulab’s ordeal began in 2005, when Marcus Luttrell and three fellow Navy SEALs were ambushed by Taliban fighters in Afghanistan. A fierce fight left three dead and Luttrell, the only American survivor, with a broken back and several shrapnel wounds. Luttrell credits Gulab with saving his life, as the Afghan brought the wounded soldier into his home and protected him from the Taliban until US reinforcements arrived.

The scene was depicted in the 2013 movie “Lone Survivor.” Luttrell was also a friend of Chris Kyle, the subject of the new record-smashing movie “American Sniper,” and went through sniper training with him.

Yet although Gulab’s heroism has been depicted on the big screen, life has reportedly been hard for him since saving Luttrell. He has had to leave his hometown and hide from the Taliban, and at one point, he was reportedly attacked and shot in the leg.

Now he wants to come to America, where he believes he will be safer, but his lawyer tells FoxNews.com that bureaucracy is making the process difficult and slow. Gulab has said Luttrell offered to help him obtain a green card, but the relationship between the two men appears to have become strained while Gulab was visiting the US last year for the premiere of “Lone Survivor.” When contacted by FoxNews.com, Lutrell declined to comment on Gulab or his bid for asylum.

#GunSense – 5 Year Old Shoots 9 Month Old Baby Brother in the Head

And once again, another killing, sanctioned and approved by the no-regulations-more-guns NRA and the foot soldiers of the NRA, Republican party.

The mother called 911 to say her 5-year-old boy shot his baby brother with a paintball gun.

But it wasn’t a paintball gun. It was a .22-caliber Magnum revolver. And the 9-month-old boy didn’t survive.

Authorities are trying to figure out what led to Monday’s shooting in Elmo, in the northwest corner of Missouri.

“At this point foul play is not suspected, and it appears at this time that the shooting was accidental,” the Nodaway County Sheriff’s Office said.

Sheriff Darren White told CNN affiliate KCTV that the baby was in a playpen when his brother found the gun lying around a bed.

When emergency crews arrived, they found the infant had been shot in the head. The child was flown to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was pronounced dead, the station reported.

Dinesh D’Souza Gets Slammed By Fox’s Megyn Kelly for Attacking Obama – Video

Convicted felon  Dinesh D’Souza went to the friendly confines of Fox News and had his friendly safety net cut from under him when he was called out by Megyn Kelly for attacking President Obama. Dinesh was supposed to be talking about the difference between Al Sharpton and Martin Luther King, but when he tried including the president in his dumb comparison, Kelly puts him in his place.

D’Souza: …how different a legacy it is from the current generation of race activists Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, but I would add Eric Holder and Barack Obama, who are cut from a completely different cloth have a completely different attitude toward the color-blind ideal, which they reject.

Kelly: How so, how do you put  Al Sharpton in the same field as Barack Obama?

D’Souza: Well, they’re not the same, I mean Barack Obama is actually an odd example because although he’s the first African America president he actually hasn’t had the African-American experience. In fact he’s not descendent from slaves on either side of his family. His father…

Kelly: What do you mean he hasn’t had the African America experience, he has black skin and he grew up in America as a black man

D’Souza: Well, he grew up in Hawaii and then he spent..

Kelly: That’s America!

D’Souza: …a considerable time in Indonesia, He’s made multiple trips to Kenya..

Kelly: Oh Come on Dinesh! That does not deprive him of his experiences of a black man.

City of Paris is Planning to Sue Fox News

Anne Hidalgo

Finally, someone with enough kahunas to not only call out Fox News on their lies, but also enough kahunas to take the network to court!

In an appearance on CNN, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo explained that the lawsuit against Fox will happen.

“When we’re insulted, and when we’ve had an image, then I think we’ll have to sue, I think we’ll have to go to court, in order to have these words removed,” Hidalgo told Amanpour in an interview. “The image of Paris has been prejudiced, and the honor of Paris has been prejudiced.”

When asked to clarify which network she planned “to take to court and sue,” Hidalgo replied: “Fox News, that’s the name.”

Hidalgo’s remarks come after Fox News ran multiple reports describing areas of Paris (and England) that were governed by Sharia law and off-limits to non-Muslims. The network has since apologized for making “regrettable errors on air regarding the Muslim population in Europe—particularly with regard to England and France.”

“This applies especially to discussions of so-called ‘no-go zones,’ areas where non-Muslims allegedly aren’t allowed in, and police supposedly won’t go,” anchor Julie Banderas said in one on-air apology. “To be clear, there is no formal designation of these zones in either country, and no credible information to support the assertion there are specific areas in these countries that exclude individuals based solely on their religion.”
