Health Care ObamaCare Politics Repeal

Fox News To Ted Cruz – Majority of Americans Want Obamacare – Video

Although Americans from all stripes are showing more support for the President’s health care law, Republicans like Ted Cruz are still insisting that the people want “every word” of the law repealed.

On the morning after a massive surge by Americans to get healthcare, Cruz was heard on Fox News saying, “I think at this point it is abundantly clear this thing it isn’t working. You can’t fiddle around the edges. I think it is the essence of pragmatism to recognize this thing isn’t working, and let’s start over, let’s repeal every word of it.”

Fox host Steve Doocy printed out to Cruz that he was speaking for a minority, not the majority of Americans.

“You know, you’re kind of in a minority when it comes to that. You look at the polling, Senator, and a lot of Americans like parts of it, would like to see parts of it continue. So, to blow the whole thing up, I don’t know if people are behind that.”

Cruz, however, discarded that fact and held firm to his talking point, saying “every poll that’s done” showed that the Affordable Care Act was the “profoundly most unpopular law we’ve seen in modern times.”

“I think it’s going to be repealed because I think the American people are demanding it,” the Texas Republican added.

Jon Stewart Calls Bullpuckie On Chris Christie’s BridgeGate Report – Video

The Daily Show’s Jon Stewart took apart New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie for exonerating himself in the Bridgegate scandal, at the taxpayers’ expense, no less. After getting in a few shots at the media for their ridiculous claims that Christie’s “got his mojo back,” Stewart and his cohort, Samantha Bee slammed Christie and his fellow Republicans for heading to Las Vegas to kiss billionaire casino mogul Sheldon Adelson’s ring.

Adelson wasn’t too happy with Christie for daring to use the words “occupied territory” during his speech at the event, which made Stewart wonder aloud how this happened.

STEWART: This is crazy. If Sheldon Adelson doesn’t approve of a term as widely accepted as occupied territories, what does he think is an acceptable term for that area? […]

When did the guy who makes Donald Trump’s hair look natural get veto power over every word Republicans say about Israel?

Man Who Shot at White House Gets 25 Years in Prison

For all you do, this prison term’s for you.

An Idaho man who fired an assault rifle at the White House in 2011 was sentenced Monday to 25 years in prison.

Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, 23, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge Rosemary Collyer in Washington Monday afternoon. He was arrested shortly after the November 11, 2011 attack and indicted on charges including attempting to assassinate President Barack Obama.

Obama and first lady Michelle Obama were not at home at the time the shots were fired from the vicinity of Constitution Avenue that night. However, bullets believed to be from the attack struck the White House, with one lodging in a window on the south side of the White House.

Ortega-Hernandez pled guilty last year to reduced charges of damaging a dwelling and using a firearm in a crime of violence. In addition, he conceded his acts amounted to a terrorist attack
