Hidden Camera Shows Bedridden Great-Grandmother Crying for Help 321 Times – Ignored by Staff

Carers ignored the desperate cries for help of bedridden 98-year-old woman despite her calling for assistance 321 times in a single hour.

Shocking secret footage filmed inside Oban House care home in Croydon, south London showed great-grandmother Yvonne Grant begging to be taken to the toilet for up to two-and-a-half hours.

Tragically the hidden camera, which was placed in the room by concerned granddaughter Vanessa Evans, captured the final undignified days of Ms Grant’s life, as she died less than a month later.

The secret footage forms part of a BBC Panorama investigation into abuse at care homes, which airs this evening.

Since Ms Grant’s death in January last year, two members of staff have been convicted of common assault over their treatment of the former seamstress, the Daily Mirror reported.

The footage shows the mother-of-four crying out for help hundreds of times in less than an hour, including making 45 requests to be taken to the toilet.

When a member of staff finally arrives two-and-a-half hours later, they instructed Ms Grant to use her incontinence pad – something she had never done before.

Ms Grant was then helped out of bed and told to walk to the toilet by herself. When she couldn’t manage it, the 98-year-old was dropped roughly back onto the bed.

It wasn’t until some time later that she was finally taken to the toilet.

Speaking to the newspaper, Ms Grant’s granddaughter Vanessa Evans,43, said: ‘When I saw the video I was devastated and fuming. But I can’t say I was shocked.’

‘I was expecting to find something but I didn’t think it would be this extreme. Her calls were definitely ignored because the nurse’s station is right outside the room,’ she added.

Ms Grant, who moved into the Oban House care home in 2010 after losing her RAF hero husband John 24-years earlier, died within days of her granddaughter telling her that she had placed a secret camera in the room and recorded her suffering.

Botched Execution Left Man in 40 Minutes of Agony Before He Died

Clayton Lockett spent forty minutes writhing in agony before dying of a heart attack

A death row inmate spent forty minutes writhing in agony before dying of a heart attack following a new cocktail of drugs administered in a lethal injection on Tuesday night.

Oklahoma prison officials halted Clayton Lockett’s execution after the  left the man writhing and clenching his teeth on the gurney.

The 38-year-old, who was found guilty of shooting a woman and watching his friends bury her alive, was declared unconscious ten minutes after the first of the state’s new three-drug lethal injection combination was administered.

Three minutes later, though, he began breathing heavily, writhing, clenching his teeth and straining to lift his head off the pillow.

It later emerged his vein had ruptured.

The blinds were eventually lowered to prevent those in the viewing gallery from watching what was happening in the death chamber, and the state’s top prison official eventually called a halt to the proceedings.

Lockett died of a heart attack a short time later, the Department of Corrections said.

Local media present said Mr Lockett sat up and said ‘something’s wrong’ 13 minutes into the procedure.

‘It was a horrible thing to witness. This was totally botched,’ said Lockett’s attorney, David Autry.

6:36 p.m. – Lockett began convulsing and mumbling

6:37 p.m. – Lockett sat up and said ‘something’s wrong’

6:39 p.m. – Prison officials lowered the blinds

7:06 p.m. – Lockett dies of massive heart attack

Shaquille O’Neal Mocks a Disabled Man on Instagram – PIC

What would possess Shaq to do something like this is way beyond my understanding.

Considering all the negative publicity the NBA is getting these days with the racist Clippers owner Donald Sterling and his apparent dislike of black people, the last thing the NBA needs at this point is one of their own icons putting down the disabled. And that’s exactly what’s happening here.

On the left is Shaq himself and on the right is Jamel Binion. Binion is disabled, but that didn’t stop Shaquille from making fun of the man. He thought it would be funny to post this picture on his instagram.

FOX 2 reports the post, captioned “Smile today,” earned more than 14,000 likes, with former University of Michigan athlete Trey Burke and rapper Waka Flocka Flame joining in on the teasing.

The post has been deleted. But for Binion, the damage has been done.

Alan Grayson Is Accusing His Wife of Bigamy

The Tamper Bay Times is reporting that when U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson married his wife, she was already wed to another man, according to a new court filing by the congressman’s lawyers, seeking an annulment on the basis of bigamy.

In new court paperwork filed in the couple’s divorce case last week, days before their 24th anniversary, Grayson, D-Florida, accuses Lolita Grayson of fraud, unjust enrichment and misrepresentation, among other claims.

He’s also suing for defamation, the new document states, stemming from a disturbance at their home in March. Lolita Grayson accused her husband of shoving her, but later dropped her petition for a domestic injunction.

Lolita Grayson’s attorneys did not immediately respond to a call or emails seeking comment on Tuesday.

Alan Grayson’s new filing, a counter-petition to her January divorce filing, states that when he met Lolita Grayson in 1985, she “represented herself as single in order to induce Mr. Grayson to marry her.”

Ever forget your glasses and need to see something, like read a menu or a text on your phone? Here’s an awesome trick posted on YouTube from Minutephysics. 

First you make a fist. Then open your fist just enough to create a tiny hole. Then peer through the hole at the object. Voila! You can see. You can even read. You don’t look like the coolest person in the room reading through your fist, but it works.

It works because limiting light to the eyeball increases focus, Minutephysics explains. Looking through pinholes is not a practical way to correct your vision full-time, as it also  limits peripheral vision, which is why we invented glasses and contacts.

Still, it works in a pinch. And that’s why this video has gotten so popular on YouTube.

Glenn Beck – “Hillary Clinton will be having sex with a woman if it becomes popular.”

Have you ever hated someone so much, that you simply cannot stop thinking about them, can’t stop talking about them? Well that seems to be the the situation Republicans find themselves in. They simply cannot’t get the Hillary Clinton of their minds.

I hate to say this, but I’m beginning to think that Hillary Clinton satisfy some devious sexual fantasy in these Republicans. They simply cannot hate her that much.

I can understand hate if it’s based in reality. But when you make up a whole narrative and then base your hate on the stuff you made up, then you left me no choice but to call you a crazy lunatic Republican.

Glenn Beck is a crazy lunatic Republican.

In one of his recent broadcast, Glenn Beck pointed out some  politicians who were once against gay marriage but have now changed their minds. Hillary Clinton, a favorite target of the right right wing hate machine, was obviously mentioned.

It is apparently Glenn Beck’s belief that Hillary Clinton would become a lesbian if it means getting the gay vote.

“I’m telling you,” Beck said, “Hillary Clinton will be having sex with a woman on the White House desk if it becomes popular.”

NBA bans Donald Sterling for life, fines him $2.5 million for racial comments

 

The NBA has banned Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling for life and fined him $2.5 million for racial comments he made to his reported girlfriend. The NBA will immediately begin working to try to force him to sell the team.

“The hateful opinions voiced by that of the man [on the tape] are those of Donald Sterling,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver said. “…I’m personally distraught the views expressed by Mr. Sterling came from within an institution that has historically taken such a leadership role in matters of race relations.”

As part of the ban, Sterling is not allowed “to attend any NBA games or practices, be present at any Clippers office or facility, or participate in any business or player personnel decisions involving the team.” Sterling also will be barred from attending any Board of Governors meetings and participating in any other league activity.

The fine is the maximum the NBA can issue under the NBA constitution, Silver said. Seventy-five percent of the NBA’s owners must vote to oust Sterling to force him to sell.

“I fully expect to get the support needed,” Silver said.

Several groups hoping to purchase the Clippers are already stepping forward with a bidding war expected to exceed $1 billion for the franchise, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Among those groups, Magic Johnson and Guggenheim Partners will be front and center in pursuit of the Clippers.

Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) struggled to articulate a credible GOP alternative to the Affordable Care Act during an appearance on Fox News Monday morning, promising only to replace President Obama’s health care reform with “legislation that does give people more opportunities” and “better ideas.”

Today, Obamacare commands substantial support, 58 to 35 percent. The public may still harbor some doubts, but they’re increasingly tired of the debate and accept that the answer to Obamacare’s problems is to improve it, not to burn it to the ground.

Everyone, from liberals to conservatives, are up in arms over Sarah Palin’s recent NRA speech where she compared religion with Waterboarding. But instead of Palin realizing the folly of her ways and apologizing for her dumb remarks, she went on Facebook and double down on her nonsense.

Actions to stop terrorists who’d utterly annihilate America and delight in massacring our innocent children? Darn right I’d do whatever it takes to foil their murderous jihadist plots – including waterboarding. Whatever one thinks of my one-liner at the NRA rally about treating evil terrorists the way they deserve to be treated to prevent the death of innocent people, it’s utterly absurd for MSNBC to suggest that I could put our beloved troops in harm’s way, but we’ve come to expect the absurd from that failing network.

Again Sarah Palin, this is not about keeping America safe. This is about your decision to politicize a religious activity, with something as the immoral as waterboarding.

But then, explaining this to you would be like playing chess with a pigeon.

Christian Conservatives Blasting Sarah Palin for Insane Waterboarding Speech

Finally, The veil has been lifted and the conservative media is beginning to see what the liberals have seen from day one – that Sarah Palin, the quitter from Alaska, is a selfish loser who will do or say anything to further her name with a particular group.

What brought this realization to these people was Palin’s recent NRA soeech, where she foolishly compared waterboarding and baptism.

In the highly pitch shriek – or speech if that’s what you wanna call it – Palin said;

“Oh, but you can’t offend them, can’t make them feel uncomfortable, not even a smidgen. Well, if I were in charge, they would know that waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists.”

And understandably, Christians should be outraged! Baptism is not a political ploy. It is not something you invoke to further your politics in front of a certain group. It is a sacred belief based deep in the Christian foundation, and Palin’s Ill-advised association with waterboarding was truly sacrilegious.

But don’t just take my word on it,  I’m just a liberal. Here’s an example of what the conservatives are saying.

Man, the 12 minute speech Sarah Palin gave to the NRA convention is awful. It’s just witless, red-meat blathering, delivered in that nasal whine of hers that makes it sound like she’s chewing wads of tinfoil. For people who like this sort of thing, this is the sort of thing they like.

Fast-forward in the video to the 6:30 mark, though, and listen to what she says about terrorists. It’s part of a long harangue about lily-livered liberals, delivered in such a way that makes Archie Bunker sound like Cicero. Money quote:

“Oh, but you can’t offend them, can’t make them feel uncomfortable, not even a smidgen. Well, if I were in charge, they would know that waterboarding is how we baptize terrorists.”

OK, stop. Not only is this woman, putatively a Christian, praising torture, but she is comparing it to a holy sacrament of the Christian faith. It’s disgusting — but even more disgusting, those NRA members, many of whom are no doubt Christians, cheered wildly for her.

I’ve long defended Palin against the offensive treatment she’s received at the hands of a blatantly biased media, a media that collectively lost its mind the moment she entered the national stage. But that hardly means she must be defended at all times. … This is a perfect example not just of civil religion but also how civil religion harms the church. Civil religion is that folk religion that serves to further advance the cause of the state.

Palin and all those who cheered her sacrilegious jibe ought to be ashamed of themselves. For us Christians, baptism is the entry into new life. Palin invoked it to celebrate torture.

Singer Tank Will Not Perform The National Anthem At Tuesday’s Clippers Game

R&B singer Tank has decided not to go ahead with performing the national anthem at Tuesday’s LA Clippers game. You see, Tank is black and based on what the Clippers owner Donald Sterling said, Tank – because of his color – is not allowed.

In explaining his decision to TMZ, Tank said;

“As an African-American man and artist, I must take a stand on a matter that is so deeply personal to me.

“In light of the recent disturbing and offensive allegations, in good conscience, I cannot move forward with my scheduled appearance at Tuesday’s Los Angeles Clippers game.”
