Muhammed Ali’s Brother – “We Hope He Gently Passes Away”

Rahman Ali  fears that his brother’s days are numbered, and that his final days are being marred by a bitter family feud.

He blames Lonnie, his wife of 26 years, for tearing the family apart and said Ali would be “mad as hell” if he knew what was going on.

He said: “The worst thing to happen is not the illness, but his wife.”

In an exclusive interview, Rahman broke down in tears as he admitted he would rather his brother died now so he can escape his suffering.

Rahman revealed: “My brother can’t speak — he doesn’t recognise me. He’s in a bad way. He’s very sick.

“It could be months, it could be days. I don’t know if he’ll last the summer. He’s in God’s hands. We hope he gently passes away…

Game Day Pic – President Throws The Football

President Obama lines it up perfectly, getting ready to throw the football from the White House all the way to the site of today’s Superbowl in New Orleans. Or maybe he’s getting ready to pass it to Hillary Clinton in 2016!

Chris Wallace Politics Wayne LaPierre

Fox News Calls Out Wayne LaPierre – “That’s ridiculous and you know it, sir.”

Fox News was suppose to be a safe zone for Wayne Lapierre. The network has taken the very same positions as LaPierre and the NRA. But LaPierre’s visit to Fox today was not a sunday walk in the park, as the NRA’s mouthpiece was called out on numerous occasions as an “out of touch elite” making “ridiculous” statements.

Here’s a clip of LaPierre’s most recent visit. Host Chris Wallace asked LaPierre if he stands by the claims made in a recent ad by the NRA targeting the President’s children. In the ad, the narrator asked, “are the president’s kids more important than yours? Then why is he skeptical about putting armed security in our schools when his kids are protected by armed guards at their school.”

Asked if he agrees with that ad, LaPierre tried to wiggle himself out of the hot seat, saying that the ad was  not about the President’s daughters. Wallace stated that the ad specifically spoke about the president’s daughters. He then asked LaPierre;

“Do you really think that the president’s children are the same kind of target as every school child in America? That’s ridiculous and you know it, sir.”

Later on in the discussion, Chris Wallace pointed out the hypocrisy of Wayne LaPierre for criticizing “the elite” for having personal security although he has them too. This fact left LaPierre physically twitching in his seat as he looked for an answer to Wallace’s accusation.

Man Charged With Killing Ex SEAL Sniper Chris Kyle

A 25-year-old man was charged with murder in connection with a shooting at a central Texas gun range that killed former Navy SEAL and “American Sniper” author Chris Kyle and his friend, the Texas Department of Public Safety said Sunday.

Chris Kyle

Sgt. Lonny Haschel said in a news release that 25-year-old Eddie Ray Routh of Lancaster was arraigned Saturday evening on two counts of capital murder.

Haschel said Erath County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call about a shooting at the Rough Creek Lodge, west of Glen Rose, at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Police found the bodies of Kyle, 38, and Chad Littlefield, 35, at the shooting range. Glen Rose is about 50 miles southwest of Fort Worth.

Police said Routh opened fire on Kyle and Littlefield around 3:30 p.m. Saturday, then fled in a Ford pickup truck. At about 8 p.m., Routh arrived at his home in Lancaster, about 17 miles southeast of Dallas. Police arrested him after a brief pursuit and took him to the Lancaster Police Department.

Officer Kyle Roberts at the Erath County Jail said Routh arrived there Sunday morning and is being held on a combined $3 million bond — bond for one charge of capital murder was set at $1 million and bond for two charges of murder was $1 million each. Roberts did not have information on whether Routh had a lawyer.

The motive for the shooting was unclear.

Kyle, a decorated soldier, wrote the best-selling book, “American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History,” detailing his 150-plus kills of insurgents from 1999 to 2009. According to promotional information from book publisher William Morrow, Kyle served was deployed to Iraq four times.

Kyle helped start the nonprofit FITCO Cares, which provides at-home fitness equipment for emotionally and physically wounded veterans. Travis Cox, the organization’s director and friend of Kyle’s, spoke with the AP on Sunday morning.

Did you know that almost 40 percent of Americans who watch the Super Bowl tune in as much for the commercials as they do for the game? At the cost of a million or more to produce and about $4 million to put on-the-air, corporate execs have just 30 seconds to make their commercial a memorable experience or an opportunity to go drain the lizard. And the psychological dope is, there’s only a five second window to take their best shot before you’re off to microwave up another batch of your patent recipe of  Five Alarm Chili Nachos With Velveeta.

So, sometimes when I’m lucky I turn on the tube and with minimal surfing I find the perfect program to satisfy my LearnSomethingNewToday gland. Found just that on, of all places, The Lifetime Channel (ugh!). Betty & Coretta was a perfect gem of a flick chronicling the relationship between the two women whose husbands had become monumental icons in the Civil Rights Movement, only to be gunned down by their detractors. Mary J. Blige as Betty Shabazz and screen veteran actress Angela Bassett as Coretta Scott King, gave me a glimpse of the powerful wives behind the martyred heroes. Their intimate friendship and valiant determination to continue the important work that their husbands gave their lives for, invigorated as well as saddened me at the same time. Narrated by the phenomenal Ruby Dee Davis, I couldn’t ask for a better chick flick. There aren’t many people who’d have the courage these two couples had in the midst of this country’s ugliest period.

Which leads me to Dr. Cornel West and his latest bitch fest regarding President Obama. West is now saying that he didn’t think it appropriate for the President to use the Bible of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for his second swearing in as President of the United States of America (C”mon! A Black male is President of the United States Cornell, dang! If only at face value that alone is worth a bit more deference from you). West says “President Obama’s actions as president are in direct contradiction to the principles and beliefs of Dr. King,”  and says he speaks for the people of the movement that Dr. King was borne out of. Can I just quote something here for a minute…lemme see…oh, here it is:

“We know our father would be deeply moved to see President Obama take the oath of office using his Bible. His traveling Bible inspired him as he fought for freedom, justice and equality, and we hope it can be a source of strength for the president as he begins his second term.”

This is from King’s surviving children in a statement to the inaugural committee. Give it a rest West. Despite what you may think of Obama as president, as a Man, with a wife and two daughters whose lives are threatened everyday on the regular by haters, you’ve got to admire the courage and fortitude of his convictions to sign up for this job, twice!  BTW, Obama also used the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln’s travelling Bible, for his first and second inaugurations…got a problem with that?

Remember the story about that husband whose photo journalist wife was missing in Turkey? Unfortunately they found her dead. Sarai Sierra, a 33-year-old mother of two, was last heard from on Jan. 21, the day she was due to board her flight back home. Her body was discovered last night near some ancient Turkish ruins. She had been stabbed and bludgeoned to death reports said. Ladies, please protect yourselves when travelling alone, anywhere. No suspects arrested yet. She had a 9 and 11 y.o.

Wtf!? Burger King just admitted that it was possible some of their burgers may have contained horse meat!  Well– the burgers in the U.K. and Ireland BKs anyway. Hey, to each his own.
I understand that such things as horse meat and scorpion eggs are delicacies in some countries, but to America’s BK: You will notify us if our menus were to take such a drastic change, won’t you?

Republican Chuck Hagel’s hearing with the Senate Armed Services Committee last Thursday was ree…dic…u…lous!  The senators conducting the hearing asked the most absurd questions that embarrassed me to think other countries were tuning in as well. And Hagel seemed like he just woke up, jumped into his waiting Lincoln Town Car and got briefed by the limo driver, without his coffee; black no sugar. You don’t get the full gist of the circus atmosphere til you’ve actually sat down and read the transcript. Three of my favorites stoopid questions were:

1. Senator Richard Blumenthal, D-CT: I would like a commitment that you are committed as well to a fleet of twelve Ohio-class replacement submarines.

2. Senator Roger Wicker, R-MS: You have corrected the term Jewish lobby. And I assume the correct term now is Israel lobby or Israeli lobby. Do you still stand by your statement that they succeed in this town because of intimidation, and that it amounts to causing us to do dumb things?

3. Senator Joe Donnelly, D-IN: When we were together, I mentioned to you my visit to Crane Surface Warfare Systems, in Indiana. What they do is they work to create the technologies to control the spectrum, in effect try to win the battlefield before the battle starts on the ground. And so, we were wondering, what can be done, in this time of challenging budgets, that in the area of technology, in the area of spectrum, we can maintain our budget so that, as I said, before the war is ever started on the ground we have won it on the spectrum level?

Did they really think that Hagel would respond to these questions in a manner that may be detrimental to his appointment?  Hagel “hemenna-hemenna-aaahhhh-urrr-eeehhh-ummm…”  his way through the entire show. So far, scarily unimpressive as the next Secretary of Defense.

This is why I love cartoons. They’re bright and noisy, with lots colors and movement and chocked full of deep existential issues I can escape into. A great distraction from the real, sometimes less colorful but still noisy world. Come to think of it, it sounds pretty damn similar to the real, sometimes less colorful but still noisy world…
Anyway,  The Cartoon Channel’s Toonami (on Saturday nights til 5am!)  has finally brought back some of the original anime that hooked me onto the channel years ago. Stuff  like: Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, Bleach, Naruto…I used to fall asleep during the incredibly long fight scenes in DragonBall Z lol! (haven’t brought that one back yet tho’.)

Happy Super Bowl Sunday: Here’s An Idea For Your Feast

Happy Super Bowl Sunday to everyone! It’s that special day of the year for sports that has something for everyone. Maybe your team is finally in the big game or maybe you’re a diehard football fan and just want to see a good matchup. Maybe you’re the occasional fan who makes the day more interesting with Super Bowl pools or maybe you’re just in it for the commercials and the half time show. And if none of that interests you, there is still the food. Oh the glorious amounts of super eats for Super Bowl Sunday!

No Super Bowl party is complete without its share of tailgate delectable. Buffalo wings are a staple today. Other fan favorites can be chilli, seven layer dip, pizza, jalapeño poppers or whatever else you’re into. It’s a day certainly built around eating foods you don’t need a table for. Just a napkin, maybe, and your mouth. But me, I’m a burger man so today I’ll be making my take on Wendy’s bacon mushroom cheddar melt. And I don’t usually do this but today I will make an exception. I’m going to tell you just how to prepare this artery clogger of deliciousness.

The first thing we need to talk about is what we do to prepare the burgers. It’s still early so quick, run and get yourself a bottle of Samuel Adams. No, don’t drink it! Pour that brew into a ziplock bag with some sirloin burgers. Use a second bottle if one was not enough to submerge the burgers like a marinade. Sam Adams is a strong beer but it is also one of the worlds most tastiest beers and when the alcohol cooks off, it’s going to give the burger a nice sweet taste. Oh and let’s not forget that Sam Adams is made right here in the USA. So once we’ve marinated our burgers in America’s finest beer and we are ready to grill them up, only season with some salt and pepper and throw them on the grill. If no grill, use a pan. It’s all good.

I don’t want you to make a rookie mistake here, don’t flip the burgers too much, you’ll dry them out and then you might as well just buy them from Wendy’s. While you’re burgers are going or even a little while before, you should be sizzling up some bacon and sautéing some mushrooms. And in a small pot or sauce pan goes a can of Campbell’s cheddar cheese soup. This soup is the perfect consistency to match Wendy’s cheese sauce.

After my mushrooms are sautéed, I like to dice em up and throw them into the soup. So once everything is done and your burgers are just about done, place a thin slice of cheddar cheese on each burger. To assemble this treat, start with your bottom bun. Place a bit of the cheese sauce on the bottom of the bun followed by your sirloin burger. Then the bacon is placed on the burger and over the bacon goes a healthy scoop of your cheese and mushroom sauce. Top with the bun and enjoy! But have plenty of napkins because its about to get messy. I hope I’ve given you guys and gals a good suggestion for your Super Bowl feast.

Everyone out there, we at EZKOOL.com wish you an enjoyable and safe Super Bowl Sunday!

Sylvester Stallone – “Who Needs An Assault Weapon? Like Really…!”

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. — Sylvester Stallone says that despite his “Rambo” image and new shoot-em-up film “Bullet to the Head,” he’s in favor of new national gun control legislation.

Stallone supported the 1994 “Brady bill” that included a now-expired ban on assault weapons, and hopes that ban can be reinstated.

“I know people get (upset) and go, `They’re going to take away the assault weapon.’ Who … needs an assault weapon? Like really, unless you’re carrying out an assault. … You can’t hunt with it. … Who’s going to attack your house, a (expletive) army?”

The 66-year-old actor, writer and director said he also hopes for an additional focus on mental health to prevent future mass shootings.

“It’s unbelievably horrible, what’s happened. I think the biggest problem, seriously, is not so much guns. It’s that every one of these people that have done these things in the past 30 years are friggin’ crazy. Really crazy! And that’s where we’ve dropped the ball: mental health,” he said. “That to me is our biggest problem in the future, is insanity coupled with isolation.”

9 Things To Do Today… or Tomorrow

I just had to share:

1. Make Vanilla pudding. Put in Mayonnaise jar. Eat in public.

2. Hire two private investigators. Get them to follow each other.

3. Wear shirt that says “Life.” Hand out lemons on street corner.

4. Get into a crowded elevator and say, “I guess you’re all wondering why I gathered you here today.

5. Major in philosophy. Ask people why they would like fries with that.

6. Run into a store, ask what year it is. When someone answers, yell “it worked!” Run out cheering.

7. Change name to Simon. Speak in third person.

8. Buy a parrot. Teach the parrot to say, “Help! I’ve been turned into a parrot.”

9. Follow joggers around in your car blasting, “Eye of the Tiger” for encouragement.

Malala Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize

Malala Yousufzai, the Pakistani girl who rose to international fame after the Taliban nearly killed her for her efforts to promote girls’ education, has been formally nominated for the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize.

Her name was put forward by three members of the Norwegian parliament from the ruling Labor Party on their website Friday, which was the deadline for nominations.

Malala’s name was put forward because of “her courageous commitment to the right of girls to education. A commitment that seemed so threatening to the extremists that they chose to try and kill her,” said parliamentarian Freddy de Ruiter on the Labor party web site.

De Ruiter made the nomination with fellow members of parliament Gorm Kjernli and Magne Rommetveit.

Official Photo Of President Obama Skeet Shooting

So it’s true.

The White House is responding to critics who questioned whether President Obama has ever been skeet shooting.

White House Senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer tweeted out this picture on Saturday morning after much skepticism about the president’s claim that he participates in the sport “all the time.”

“POTUS shoots clay targets on the range at Camp David on Aug. 4, 2012,” reads the tweet, with a link to the photograph.

The photo would appear to quiet the controversy that arose after an interview with The New Republic, in which Obama talked about frequent skeet shooting.

The publication asked: “Have you ever fired a gun?”

Obama responded: “Yes, in fact, up at Camp David, we do skeet shooting all the time.”

The comment caused a stir, as people asked why he had never mentioned the hobby before and why they had never seen photos.

In an interview with CNN on Monday night — before the photo was released — Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., said, “If he is a skeet shooter, why have we not heard of this? Why have we not seen photos?”

She then added: “I think he should invite me to Camp David, and I’ll go skeet shooting with him. And I bet I’ll beat him.”

President’s Weekly Address: Working Together To Grow The Economy

President Obama called on Congress to work together and come up with bipartisan ways to pay down the debt and grow the economy.

We began this year with economists and business leaders saying that we are poised to grow in 2013.  And there are real signs of progress:  Home prices are starting to climb again.  Car sales are at a five-year high.  Manufacturing is roaring back.  Our businesses created 2.2 million jobs last year.  And we just learned that our economy created more jobs over the last few months than economists originally thought.

But this week, we also received the first estimate of America’s economic growth over the last few months.  And it reminded us that bad decisions in Washington can get in the way of our economic progress.

We all agree that it’s critical to cut unnecessary spending.  But we can’t just cut our way to prosperity.  It hasn’t worked in the past, and it won’t work today.  It could slow down our recovery.  It could weaken our economy.  And it could cost us jobs – now, and in the future.
