New Mexico Police Shoots After Mother and Children in Minivan

There are obviously some bad decisions made by the driver of the minivan. When she was pulled over for going 71MPH in a 55MPH zone in New Mexico, Oriana Ferrell decided to drive off while the officer walked back to his car to issue her a ticket.

Driving off was obviously a wrong decision.

The officer jumped into his car and a short chase ensued. Oriana pulled over again and an irate police officer walked over to the driver side of the vehicle where Oriana sat waiting, and demanded she get out of the vehicle.

“Look, I’m going to ask you one more time to get out of the vehicle and then I’m going to pull you out, OK?” the officer said. “You’re already facing evading charges. You ran away from me.”

“Sir, I pulled back over, I didn’t run away,” Oriana said. “You see my children. I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m just trying to take them to the Rio Grande.”

At this point, the officer is seen on the dashboard cam trying to open the driver side door of the minivan. On the passenger side, Oriana’s 14-year-old son is seen opening his door to get out. He changes his mind and reentered the vehicle.

Oriana finally exited the vehicle and went with the officer behind the minivan. He asked her to face the vehicle and at this point, Oriana walked away, heading back to her car. The officer tried stopping her and at this point, Oriana’s 14-year-old exited the vehicle and tried defending his mother against the police. Oriana made it into the driver’s seat and her son ran into the passenger’s side followed closely by the police.

After meeting the doors locked, the officer bagan smashing the window of the minivan. A wrong decision on his part.

At this point, backup arrived and a scared Oriana, hearing her children screaming in a car with shattering glass all around them, sped off again. Another wrong decision, but one that is totally understandable under the circumstances.

At this point, one of the backup officers decided to pull out his gun and began shooting at the car as Oriana drove away trying to save her children. The officers chased after the mother, arresting her and her son when they stopped at the hotel.

So far, the officers have not been charged for shooting after a fleeing suspect, something the Supreme Court has barred in a 1985 ruling.

Martin Bashir’s Conclusion on Sarah Palin – She Deserves Someone Sh*t In Her Mouth – Video

Ah Martin! I am on your side obviously, but sometimes… sometimes, you… you say things the rest of us wish we could say.

Such was the case when Martin gave Sarah a lesson in slavery. You see, Sarah, trying to bring more attention to herself and her new book, spoke last weekend to an audience and compared Obamacare and the deficit to slavery. “Our free stuff today is being paid for by taking money from our children and borrowing from China,” Palin told a crowd of supporters in Iowa on Saturday night according to a report in The Des Moines Register. “When that money comes due – and this isn’t racist, but it’ll be like slavery when that note is due. We are going to beholden to the foreign master.”

Yes folks, Sarah is not too bright. Or maybe she is. Because those in her base loved her dumb statement and probably rushed to the store to get her book. But as I watched and listened to Palin, I couldn’t help but wondered if she would make that same slavery statement if she experienced anything close to what some slaves had to live through.

Martin Bashir must have felt the same way, because on his “Clear the Air” segment on MSNBC, Martin told the story as told through the diary of Thomas Thirstlewood, a British overseer at a sugar plantation in Jamaica in 1750. Based on his own writing, Thirstlewood was a crude evil man, and treated the slaves he watched worse than anyone would treat an animal. Bashir told of two of Thirstlewood’s diary entries, where he wrote about making a slave defecate in the mouth of another slave and in another entry, Thirstlewood wrote about making a slave “piss” in the eyes and mouth of yet another slave.

After pointing out some of these horrendous treatments some slaves went through at the hands of Thomas Thistlewood, Martin Bashir concluded, “I could go on, but you get the point. When Mrs. Palin invokes slavery, she doesn’t just prove her rank ignorance. She confirms if anyone truly qualified for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, she would be the outstanding candidate.”

Once Again, George Zimmerman Finds Himself Arrested

Yes folks, we’re talking about the same model citizen who murdered an innocent child and walked free.

George Zimmerman, acquitted in July in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin, was arrested Monday in Seminole County Fla., authorities said.

“He is in custody,” Officer Green, with the county sheriff’s office told USA TODAY. He said the booking officer handling Zimmerman was still filing his report and he had no additional information.

The Orlando Sentinel reported that Zimmerman was en route to the Seminole County Jail in Sanford, according to Sheriff Don Eslinger. The Sentinel said it was not clear what happened or what crime he’s accused of committing.

WESH-TV reported that Zimmerman was accused of domestic violence by a girlfriend in the unincorporated area of Apopka. The station said sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call, and that several sheriff’s office vehicles were at the home.

Zimmerman’s new girlfriend lives in the area of Apopka where the arrest took place, the Sentinel reports.

Zimmerman, 30, was a neighborhood watch volunteer in a gated community in Sanford, Fla., when he shot Trayvon, 17, on Feb. 26, 2012. Trayvon was black, Zimmerman is Latino. The shooting of Trayvon, who was unarmed, touched off protests across the nation. Some of the wrath targeted the state’s Stand Your Ground statute, although Zimmerman’s lawyers opted to rely on a more standard self-defense argument at trial.

Zimmerman has had several involvements with authorities since his acquittal. In September, police were called to the home of his estranged wife’s father amid claims of a domestic dispute, but no charges were ever filed. He also has been pulled over three times for minor traffic incidents, twice receiving warnings and once issued a speeding ticket.

Ted Cruz Wants to Impeach Obama for Not Enforcing Laws… #LOL

Here is another gem from our Joker, Ted Cruz. In an interview published on Saturday, Cruz suggested that President Obama should be impeached because he is not enforcing the laws.

Imagine that! Ted Cruz is suggesting impeachment, because he thinks the president is not enforcing the laws of the United States.

Kinda makes me think of a certain group of people called Republicans who refused to enforce a law certain law called The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. A law that was approved by all three branches ogf government and by the People of the United States when they reelected the president in 2012.

Ted Cruz is one of the Republican senators who refuses to enforce this law, and have led the march against the law with over 45 attempts at repeal. But in his hypocritical interview, Cruz had the nerves to call the president “lawless.” Imagine that!

“One of the most troubling aspects of the Obama administration is, aside from their radical policies, the way they’ve implemented it has sadly been lawless. Over and over again, this president has said, ‘I don’t care what the law is, I’m going to refuse to enforce it.’”

According to Cruz, the president is committing an impeachable crime by granting work permits to young immigrants who were brought to the United States as children.

“We have never seen a president behave like President Obama, who believes he can just pick and choose: He’ll enforce this law, not enforce another law.”

And on the question of impeachment? Cruz answered;

“You know, any impeachment would have to be tried in the United States Senate. And so, my responsibility would be to render judgment. I would not want to urge the House to do anything other than exercise its best judgement. And then I would endeavor to do the same.”

Thus senator lives in a glass house, but he is constantly throwing stones.

Rick Santorum Complains about the Republicans Strategy on Healthcare

He called it the “circular firing squad.” That was Rick Santorum definition of the way Republicans conducted themselves over the rollout and implementation of Obamacare.

According to Santorum, Republicans could have just sat back and watched as the website for Obamacare crumbled under the weight of interested American trying to sign up for insurance. But instead Santorum continued, they engineered a government shutdown that accomplished nothing, except guaranteed loss for subpar Republican candidates.

“Everybody knew this wasn’t going to work coming out,” the 2012 Republican presidential contender said during an appearance on Monday’s Morning Joe. “To know that, going into this October 1 and to have it be just a fight between Republicans instead of focusing on what was clearly going to be a problem was not a very smart thing to do.”

The 16-day shutdown also hurt Ken Cuccinelli’s campaign for Virginia governor.

“There’s no question about it. I live in Virginia and Ken could not get on message till the last ten days.”

“Because of the government shutdown!” Joe Scarborough interjected.

“The government shutdown,” Santorum said, nodding.

“We had a circular firing squad going on in Washington,” Santorum said of his party. “It was just painful to watch people – both camps trying to do the right things but ending up just shooting each other.”

Long Island Shooting – Man Kills Girlfriend in front of Kids

A Long Island man shot dead his fiancée Sunday morning in front of his children and had a shootout with police before eventually surrendering.

Jose Rodriguez III, 32, shot dead fiancée Kimberly Sellitto, 36, before firing several shots at responding police while his three children watched in horror, authorities said.

Mr Rodriguez eventually turned himself in and was charged with second-degree murder.

Officers responding just after 11.30 Sunday morning discovered a woman’s body in front of the Ridge, NY apartment complex where the couple lived.

Locked and loaded, Mr Rodriguez pumped several shotgun rounds at responding officers. No police were injured, but a police vehicle sustained minor damage while cops were firing back at the violent man.

Police were able to negotiate the release of Mr Rodriguez’s two children – Ms Sellitto was not their mother – before eventually convincing him to surrender at about 1:45, the Suffolk County Police Department said in an official statement.

Death and Destruction as Tornados Wreck The Midwest

At least six people died as a result of the severe weather system that wreaked havoc as it swept across Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky Missouri and Ohio.

“The whole neighborhood’s gone. The wall of my fireplace is all that is left of my house,” Michael Perdun told The Associated Press by cellphone from the Illinois town of Washington.
He added that the district was wiped out in a matter of seconds.

“I stepped outside and I heard it coming,” Perdun told the AP. “My daughter was already in the basement, so I ran downstairs and grabbed her, crouched in the laundry room and all of a sudden I could see daylight up the stairway and my house was gone.”

Area hospitals were also trying to set up a temporary emergency medical care facility in Washington, a small town around 145 miles southwest of Chicago.

“The devastation is just unbelievable,” said Mayor Gary Manier told Reuters about the town of 15,000, where hundreds of homes were destroyed and one person died. “I can’t imagine people walked away from these places.”
At least 50 patients in the emergency room at St. Francis Medical Center nearby were reported to be tornado-related, eight of them were trauma cases, according to Amy Paul, a spokeswoman for the hospital.

An 80-year-old man and his 78-year-old sister were killed near New Minden, according to Washington County Coroner Mark Styninger, and unidentified victims were confirmed dead in Washington city and in Unionville.

Two people were also confirmed to have died in Brookport, Ill., in Massac County near the Kentucky line and police with dogs were going door to door to search for trapped residents. With roads entering the city closed by debris and downed power lines, Brookport authorities imposed a 6 p.m.-to-6 a.m. curfew.

At least 10 tornadoes touched down in Illinois, NBCChicago.com reported.  Some 16 were reported to have torn through Indiana, eight through Kentucky and one a piece in Missouri and Ohio

Good News for Obama: The Right Will Rise Again

Don’t get me wrong. What’s happened over the past five weeks has been a colossal, epic failure on President Obama’s part. All he needed to say about the health care law was that you could keep your insurance if it met minimum standards, and then he needed to repeat those standards. He also needed to repeat the benefits of the law, from covering preexisting conditions to free physicals, checkups and flu shots. But Obama thought that passage of the law was enough and that the government didn’t need to publicize what was on public record. Big mistake. Now he’s gotten caught in a web that the right wing has been spinning since 2010. It’s ugly. It’s sobering. It’s a mess. And it hurts.

And now for the good news. Obama’s opponents are still the same gang that shut down the government, opposes marriage equality, wants to voucherize Medicare and cut $40 billion from the food stamp program, denies global warming, thinks transvaginal ultrasounds are effective public policy, supports testing public school students at the expense of a real curriculum, opposes immigration reform and continues to want to deport large numbers of Hispanics.

In the 1990s, my father used to say that Newt Gingrich was the best thing that ever happened to Bill Clinton. The Tea Party and John Boehner are the best things to happen to Barack Obama. His approval ratings are down now, but they’ll rebound because the right wing hasn’t changed.

Their main vulnerability is their belief that the health care law has imperiled every part of Obama’s agenda. What they forget is that prior to the shutdown, the GOP’s ideas were extreme and unpopular. My sense is that they’ll get even more extreme because they see Obama at a critical point in his presidency. Healthcare.gov will not make the Republicans look any better on women, Hispanics, social programs and, yes, health care.

The health care mess will also leave the front pages soon because the website will be fixed and more people will successfully sign up for care. Also, fiscal negotiations are just around the corner and the right has left itself vulnerable because they’ve pretty much promised not to shut the government down again and they’d be even crazier than I think they are to not raise the debt ceiling. Plus, the press will get tired of this story and move on to other things.

In the end, though, the real advantage is that we’re talking about trying to insure people against catastrophic expenses by providing them with health insurance. Never forget that.

Yes, People Are Successfully Signing Up For Obamacare – Video

She was so happy to finally get affordable healthcare, this constituent wrote a thank you letter to her congressman. Here is a story you will never see on Fox News. And since Fox won’t cover it, you will never hear any Republicans in Washington talking about it.

After her husband died in February 2012, Amy Bowman was diagnosed with breast cancer. She tells her story that she was eventually able to continue 0n her husband’s insurance for a year. But cancer is a serious pre-existing condition and Amy knew that getting insurance after her year was out would be almost impossible.

After searching, Amy was able to continue her insurance at another company, but they monthly price for her policy was extremely high. On a monthly basis, Amy Bowman’s insurance policy was almost $1500.00. But she was able to sign on and shop for healthcare on the marketplace provided by Obamacare, and received a health policy with provision for dental benefits, for about half of what she was paying before.

This is Amy Bowman’s story.
