Chris Christie Cancels Event Appearance Due to Illness

Recently reelected New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) has canceled his appearance at Thursday’s Committee of Seventy’s annual fundraising breakfast because of illness.

The governor’s office notified the good-government advocacy group of Christie’s cancelation at 6 p.m. Wednesday, the night before the event, saying the governor was “just not feeling well at all,” according to Zack Stalberg, Committee of Seventy president and CEO.

About 600 guests were expected to attend the event, the organization’s only annual fundraiser. Stalberg told The Huffington Post the group is “scrambling” to notify expected attendees that the breakfast is canceled and will be rescheduled when Christie can make it.

Muhammed Ali’s Brother – “We Hope He Gently Passes Away”

Rahman Ali  fears that his brother’s days are numbered, and that his final days are being marred by a bitter family feud.

He blames Lonnie, his wife of 26 years, for tearing the family apart and said Ali would be “mad as hell” if he knew what was going on.

He said: “The worst thing to happen is not the illness, but his wife.”

In an exclusive interview, Rahman broke down in tears as he admitted he would rather his brother died now so he can escape his suffering.

Rahman revealed: “My brother can’t speak — he doesn’t recognise me. He’s in a bad way. He’s very sick.

“It could be months, it could be days. I don’t know if he’ll last the summer. He’s in God’s hands. We hope he gently passes away…
