Now that George Zimmerman would not be getting paid in a so-called “celebrity” boxing match, his attorney O’Mara has announced that he will not be representing Trayvon Martin’s killer in an upcoming lawsuit against NBC.
A spokesperson for O’Mara, who is a CNN legal analyst, confirmed to HLN Thursday that O’Mara will no longer be the local counsel on record for Zimmerman’s libel lawsuit against NBC.
O’Mara similarly told CNN in September that he wouldn’t be representing Zimmerman in his impending divorce case or the domestic altercation case against him at the time. Zimmerman’s girlfriend had accused him of pointing a shotgun at her, but then later changed her story, saying the incident never happened. Florida State Attorney Phil Archer announced in December that no assault or domestic violence charges would be filed against Zimmerman.+
Actor Jamie Foxx and the families of Emmett Till and Oscar Grant are joining South Florida residents this weekend to commemorate the second anniversary of Trayvon Martin’s fatal shooting by neighborhood watch leader George Zimmerman.
A peace walk is planned for Saturday in Miami Gardens, and a gala hosted by The Trayvon Martin Foundation is planned for Sunday in Davie on what would have been Martin’s 19th birthday.
A spokeswoman for Martin’s family says the focus of the weekend is to explore strategies to reduce violence.
Till, a black teen, was murdered in Mississippi in 1955, and Grant, also a black teen, was fatally shot by a police officer in Oakland in 2009.
Zimmerman was acquitted last summer of fatally shooting the unarmed Martin, who is black, in February 2012.
Since it was revealed that George Zimmerman was looking for someone to fight in what they labeled “a celebrity boxing match”, and since it was revealed that his fight will be verses DMX, people on twitter have engaged in a discussion asking, what exactly makes George Zimmerman a celebrity?

The trial of a Florida man accused of shooting a black teenager begins today in a case that has drawn similarities to the George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin case.

Michael Dunn, 47, is charged with first-degree murder and attempted murder after police said a November 2012 dispute with a group of teenagers outside of a Jacksonville convenience store turned deadly.
Dunn and his fiancée stopped at a convenience store on their way home from a wedding reception and pulled up next to a sport utility vehicle where Jordan Davis, 17, was sitting with friends, according to police.
Authorities said one of the teens complied when Dunn told them to turn down their music, however, Davis told him to turn down the volume again.
Dunn, who had a concealed weapons permit, then allegedly pulled out his handgun and fired several shots into the vehicle, fatally striking Davis in the back and groin.
Police said Dunn told them he feared for his life. Dunn’s attorney said he saw a gun and fired in self defense.
I’m not quite sure how George Zimmerman became a celebrity, but it’s official … X gonna give it to George Zimmerman.
TMZ has learned, rapper DMX has just been named Zimmerman’s opponent in his upcoming celebrity boxing match.
Celebrity boxing promoter Damon Feldman tells us, DMX was selected out of 15,000 applicants … all of whom wanted a piece of Zimmerman in the ring after he issued the open challenge to fight anyone willing to take him.
But no one wanted to beat Zimmerman’s ass more than DMX.
As we first reported, DMX promised to massacre Zimmerman in the ring if he got the chance. To be exact, he said, “I am going to beat the living f**k out him … I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f**k him right up.” He then said he’d literally piss on George’s face.
Zimmerman might actually have a chance though — as we reported, he’s been training pretty hard for months … oh yeah, and he’s only 30 years old. DMX is 43.
The boxing match will be 3 rounds.
The date, time, and location of the fight will be announced at a news conference next Wednesday.
The Game will throw his hat in the ring to fight George Zimmerman in the upcoming celebrity boxing match, and he tells TMZ, “I will beat the f**k out of him.”
Zimmerman has agreed to the March 1 celebrity boxing match … the promoter hasn’t selected his opponent, but is taking offers at fightgeorge@hotmail.com.
Game says, “I would not be boxing for me. I’d be boxing for the legacy of Trayvon Martin and for his family.”
The rapper, who has a tattoo of Trayvon on his leg, says, “I would box him to knock him out,” adding, “I would definitely take pleasure in it. It’s legal, and I want to show him you can solve your disputes without a weapon.”
Game would definitely have the edge … he’s 6’5″, and 240 lbs of muscle.

There are many people who would relish the opportunity to take a swing at unconvicted killer George Zimmerman, and at least one lucky person will get that chance.
Zimmerman, who was found not guilty on murder charges after he followed and eventually gunned down 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on February 26, 2012, will participate in a “celebrity” boxing match that will be aired online and on Pay-Per-View on March 1, 2014.
“It was my idea,” Zimmerman, 30, said in an interview with Radar Online.
“Prior to the incident I was actually going to the gym for weight loss and doing boxing-type training for weight loss and a mutual friend put me in contact with Damon and provided me with an opportunity and motivation to get back in shape and continue with my weight loss goals and also be able to help a charity out.”
The “incident,” of course, is his killing of an unarmed teenager.
“Boxing isn’t new to me. It’s something I had picked up well before the incident and it’s something that I liked, I enjoyed, and I kept up with it and I was able to lose a tremendous amount of weight and get a healthy lifestyle,” he told Radar.
“So it’s not a new hobby, it’s something I have been doing and wanting to pursue to maintain a healthy lifestyle.”

“I don’t have a preference [on opponent] as long as it goes to charity, doesn’t matter to me. Hopefully someone that won’t hurt me too bad!” Zimmerman said, but after thinking about it a minute told Radar, “If I had my top three I’d say Papa Smurf, the Easter Bunny and maybe the Michelin Man.”
Zimmerman, who has taken full advantage of his notoriety, shared the news on his Twitter page.

“First of all, I wouldn’t even call this a work of art,” said Jerry Saltz, who made an appearance on CNN’S New Day program on Wednesday. “It’s a travesty, a placard, a poster, something you might see in protest.” At one point, Saltz even called Zimmerman’s work a “confession” of sorts.
Saltz, a renowned art critic wasn’t finished tearing into the single art piece of Trayvon Martins killer. He continued;
“It’s talking about liberty, justice for all. Well, you know, it’s almost like none of this ever happened. And then also, you have this is his funny little – he’s almost trying to be a cause. And the cause is that I think he is is a travesty of justice, a crime. It’s insipid, it’s not — there’s no thought in it. It’s needing to be the center of attention. I think it’s a bit psychotic.”
“To me,” Saltz concluded, “what he made was a simpleton, quasi-psychotic painting, in my opinion.”
WARNING TO ALL U.S. CITIZENS OUTSIDE OF FLORIDA: George Zimmerman is leaving the Sunshine State for good, TMZ has learned … and he might be heading for your neck of the woods.
As we reported, George has had about enough of Florida, primarily because he feels like he’s become a sitting duck for the media and law enforcement to prey on him.
We’re told he would have moved a lot sooner, but the domestic violence incident with his GF last month — the one with the shotgun — kept him on lockdown within State lines … literally. He had to get an ankle monitor.
But now that his GF has recanted her claims and the charges have been dropped, Zimmerman’s a free man once again … a free man who can legally pack heat again … and he’s planning to make the big move in the next couple weeks.
As for where Zimmerman is headed — he’s not saying … because he’s still afraid for his safety after the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.
So all George Zimmerman had to do was murder an innocent teenager. That’s it! That’s all he had to do for these Republican nuts to compare him to Nelson Mandela and Mother Teresa!

He is a contributor to a right wing blog called “World Net Daily.” Cashill, a huge defender of George Zimmerman, believes that Zimmerman did no wrong the night he murdered Trayvon, saying that Zimmerman is the least racist person in Florida. He then went on to say that if the U.S Justice Department went on to investigate George Zimmerman, “it’s like going after Nelson Mandela on Civil Rights or Mother Teresa!”
(CNN) — George Zimmerman’s girlfriend is asking a judge to lift an order that blocks her from seeing him and says she doesn’t want charges filed against him.
In a court document obtained by CNN Monday, Samantha Scheibe says she wants a no-contact provision against Zimmerman lifted so the couple can “talk and be together.”
“I am not afraid of George in any manner and I want to be with him,” she says.
Zimmerman was arrested on November 18 at Scheibe’s Apopka, Florida, home after the two had a heated fight. According to a police report about the incident, Scheibe said that after an argument, Zimmerman broke a table with a shotgun and then pointed it at her “for a minute.”
But in a signed affidavit filed by Zimmerman’s attorney, Jayne Weintraub, Scheibe says Zimmerman “never pointed a gun at or toward my face in a threatening manner” and claims police misinterpreted her.
“I believe that the police misinterpreted me and that I may have misspoken about certain facts in my statement to the police,” she said. “I do not feel that the arrest report accurately recounts what happened.”
Zimmerman is accused ofaggravated assault and misdemeanor counts of domestic violence battery and criminal mischief in the incident. His arraignment is scheduled for January 7.
