Woman Stabs Boyfriend In Eye, Because He Refused Threesome

A Florida woman stabbed her boyfriend in the eye with a knife after he refused to have sex with her and another woman she had brought home from a local club, authorities said.

The late September incident occurred after La Crystal King-Woolfork, 28, came home from a spot called Shake Your Booty Club with another woman at about 4 a.m. The two women had sex, and then King-Woolfork asked her boyfriend to participate, according to an Indian River Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

When he refused, the intoxicated King-Woolfork “became very angry and grabbed a knife,” the boyfriend told authorities.

The two struggled until the man was able to take the knife from King-Woolfork and hide it between the mattresses of the bed, according to deputies.

He left the house and called for a ride to the hospital, the report said. She was arrested on an attempted murder charge on Sept. 26 after police spoke to her boyfriend.

When police spoke to King-Woolfork, she said confirmed that she brought the woman home to have sex and wanted her boyfriend to join.

When the other woman left, and her boyfriend was in bed, King-Woolfork said she “picked up a knife off the dresser because she knew (her boyfriend) was going to get mad,” the arrest report said.

She said her then boyfriend took her hand to take the knife and the two struggled, which cut her knee, the report said.

The fight escalated and she hit her boyfriend in the head with her cell phone, King-Woolfork said.

She denied stabbing him but said she had hit him in the face several times with a metal candle holder, according to deputies. Then he punched her in the nose, the report said.

George Zimmerman Wants Florida To Pay His Legal Bill

George Zimmerman is standing his ground — and he wants Florida taxpayers to reimburse him for a large chunk of his legal expenses.

The neighborhood watch volunteer who was acquitted of second-degree murder in the death of Trayvon Martin is asking the Sunshine State to cover $200,000 to $300,000 for the cost of expert witnesses, travel, depositions and photocopies, the Orlando Sentinel reported Monday.

That tab also includes the cost of a video the defense used during closing arguments that shows the unarmed black teenager punching Zimmerman.

Defense attorney Mark O’Mara told the paper that a motion is “in the works” to ask a judge to approve the payments.

Because the 29-year-old watchman was found not guilty during a five-week trial last month, state law requires Florida to pay all of his legal fees — except for the price tag of his lawyer.

That comes on top of the roughly $900,000 that public agencies already spent on Zimmerman’s behalf during the much-hyped court case, which prompted demonstrations all over the country.

Stevie Wonder is Boycotting Florida Because of Zimmerman Verdict

While performing in Canada,  Stevie Wonder stated his displeasure in Florida and their Stand Your Ground laws that, although it wasn’t mentioned in the case, was most likely one of the underlining hand that helped George Zimmerman to walk free.

“I decided today that until the ‘Stand Your Ground’ law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again As a matter of fact, wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world.

“For those that we have lost in the battle for justice, wherever that fits in any part of the world — we can’t bring them back,” he said. “(What) we can do is we can let our voices be heard. And we can vote in our various countries throughout the world for change and equality for everybody. That’s what I know we can do.”

Republican Governor Signs Bill Banning Paid Sick Leave

Gov. Rick Scott

Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) signed a bill on Friday that blocks local governments from implementing paid sick leave legislation, the Orlando Sentinel reports. He made his decision quickly, only taking four of the 15 days he legally had to review the bill before he signed it.

In signing the bill, Scott sided with big business interests including Disney World, Darden Restaurants (owner of Olive Garden and Red Lobster), and the Florida Chamber of Commerce.

The bill is part of a national effort to pass so-called “preemption bills” that would block paid sick leave legislation that is backed by the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), a right-wing group that coordinates conservative laws across states. The state’s House Majority Leader, Steve Precourt (R), who was instrumental in putting forward the preemption bill, is an active ALEC member.

Florida Cop Fired For Using Trayvon Martin Silhouette As Shooting Target

A police sergeant from Cape Canaveral, Florida has been fired after it was discovered he brought two shooting targets resembling Trayvon Martin to a training session last week.

Officer King

According to WFTV two officers saw the targets in the back of Sgt. Ron King’s vehicle and they informed the Chief of the Port Authority Police.

King was allegedly bringing the targets to a firearms training session in Cocoa, Florida at Brevard Community College.

The sergeant, who has been on the force since January of 2011, was on duty at the time.

He had purchased the two targets from the internet. It is not clear if they were used during the training session.

After an investigation from internal affairs, King was fired on Thursday.

John Walsh, the CEO of Cape Canaveral Port Authority, spoke to WFTV and apologized to Port Canaveral and the family of Trayvon Martin.

‘It’s something that we’d never want the Port Authority to be involved in and we truly apologize to the families for the pain that they even had to hear about something like this and had to relive their son’s death again.’

Florida Man Swallowed In Sinkhole While Sleeping In His Bed

A Florida man was missing and feared dead on Friday after a large sinkhole suddenly swallowed the bedroom of his suburban Tampa home, police and fire officials said.

Jeff Bush, 36, was in his room sleeping and the other five members of the household were getting ready for bed on Thursday night when they heard a loud crash and Jeff screaming.

Jeff’s brother, 35-year-old Jeremy Bush, jumped into the hole and furiously kept digging to find his brother.

“I feel in my heart he didn’t make it,” Jeremy told Tampa TV station WFTS. “There were six of us in the house; five got out.”

Jeremy himself had to be rescued from the sinkhole by the first responder to the emergency call, Douglas Duvall of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. When Duvall entered Jeff Bush’s bedroom, all he saw was a widening chasm but no sign of Jeff.

“The hole took the entire bedroom,” said Duvall. “You could see the bedframe, the dresser, everything was sinking,” he said.

Norman Wicker, 48, the father of Jeremy’s fiancée who also lived in the house, ran to get a flashlight and shovel.

“It sounded like a car ran into the back of the house,” Wicker said.

Authorities had not detected any signs of life after lowering listening devices and cameras into the hole and rescue efforts were suspended after the site was deemed too unsafe for emergency personnel to enter.

Did You Miss The Meteor Sighting Over Florida Last Night?

South Floridians who happened to be looking in the right place at the right time Sunday night saw one spectacular light show – possibly a sporadic meteor.

The Coast Guard began getting flooded with phone calls about 7:30 p.m., with reports of folks seeing flare-like objects from Jacksonville to Key West, according to Coast Guard Petty Officer 3rd Class Sabrina Laberdesque.

People called in, describing the flares “as orange or red fireballs in the sky,” Laberdesque said. The display was limited to the sky: No injuries were reported, Laberdesque said.

Another Fugitive On The Run In Grapevine Texas

Grapevine police say they have few leads as to the whereabouts of an armed and dangerous Miami felon who seriously injured an officer as he escaped custody on Monday night.

Alberto Morales, 41, escaped from custody after stabbing a Miami-Dade detective with a piece of broken eyeglasses Monday night in the parking lot of a Grapevine Walmart. He was in the midst of being transported from Miami, Fla. to Las Vegas, Nev. to face a sexual assault charge.

Two detectives accompanied Morales on a commercial flight to Nevada on Monday, which started in Miami but had a layover in Houston. Before landing in Texas, Morales slammed his head against a seat and was not allowed back on the flight once they landed in Houston.

The two detectives rented an SUV to finish the trip. In Grapevine on the way to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to meet a third detective, they stopped at a Walmart. While one of his minders was using the restroom, Morales broke a pair of glasses and stabbed Miami-Dade Det. Jaime Pardinas and fled into the city around 10:30 p.m. Monday.

“I’ve been stabbed in the neck,” Pardinas said in a call to 911.

Despite his serious injuries, he was able to describe the suspect and told the dispatcher Morales is schizophrenic. The other detective returned to the vehicle and took over the 911 call, saying Pardinas was stabbed in the neck and back.

The detective said Morales did not take Pardinas’ gun and fled the scene on foot.

This Republican Killed Himself Because Barack Obama Was Re-Elected

This is unfortunately becoming a routine. Over the past few days since President Obama won reelection, Republicans nationwide have engaged in acts that are… will… stupid! But this one I think takes the cake. A Salon owner kills himself because a majority of Americans voted to reëlect President Obama.

A former tanning salon owner was found dead two days after the election after telling his partner that he was ‘not going to be around’ if President Obama won a second term.

Henry Hamilton was discovered next tow two empty prescription pill bottles with the message ‘F*** Obama!’ written over his will.

His partner said that the 64-year-old man was ‘very upset about the election results.’

Police are not searching for any suspects in the case, as police spokeswoman Alyson Crean said ‘there’s absolutely no evidence of foul play’.

The Miami Herald reports that Hamilton’s friend had been so worried about his well-being that the unidentified friend requested that the police check on Hamilton at the condo that he shared with partner Michael Cossey.

The last time Mr Cossey saw Hamilton was on the night of the election when they were watching the returns.

What is this world coming to? I always knew politics, policies and the direction of the nation were important, but come on folks, you’re taking this a little too far! If your candidate did not win this time, then try again in four years! Geeze!

He Was Very Conservative, and His Girlfriend was Liberal. He Felt He Had to kill her

A Florida man “obsessed with Fox News and the Republican party” felt that his girlfriend was too “liberal” — so he decided he had to kill her.

Police arrested David Kappheim, of Lake Park, on Saturday after the 60-year-old threatened a woman’s life because of her supposed political affiliation, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The report recounts several incidents in which Kappheim allegedly arrived “stark naked” at the home of his girlfriend’s friend, choked his girlfriend and told her that he would “kill her and burn her home,” thePalm Beach Post reports.

Kappheim explained to a sheriff’s deputy, “He was very conservative, and his girlfriend was liberal and he felt he was going to have kill her,” according to the arrest affidavit, according to WPTV.

Republican Governor Endorses President Obama over Mitt Romney

With the Republicans having their Convention in Florida this week to re-invent and reintroduce Mitt Romney to the American public, it’s only natural that a former Republican governor use this opportunity to make his endorsement.

Governor Charlie Crist, wrote in today’s edition of Tampa Bay Times that the only person capable of turning around this economy and bringing jobs back, is the man he’s endorsing for President… Barack Obama.

I’ve studied, admired and gotten to know a lot of leaders in my life. Across Florida, in Washington and around the country, I’ve watched the failure of those who favor extreme rhetoric over sensible compromise, and I’ve seen how those who never lose sight of solutions sow the greatest successes.

As America prepares to pick our president for the next four years — and as Florida prepares once again to play a decisive role — I’m confident that President Barack Obama is the right leader for our state and the nation. I applaud and share his vision of a future built by a strong and confident middle class in an economy that gives us the opportunity to reap prosperity through hard work and personal responsibility. It is a vision of the future proven right by our history.

We often remind ourselves to learn the lessons of the past, lest we risk repeating its mistakes. Yet nearly as often, our short-term memory fails us. Many have already forgotten how deep and daunting our shared crisis was in the winter of 2009, as President Obama was inaugurated. It was no ordinary challenge, and the president served as the nation’s calm through a historically turbulent storm.

The president’s response was swift, smart and farsighted. He kept his compass pointed due north and relentlessly focused on saving jobs, creating more and helping the many who felt trapped beneath the house of cards that had collapsed upon them.

He knew we had to get people back to work as quickly as possible — but he also knew that the value of a recovery lies in its durability. Short-term healing had to be paired with an economy that would stay healthy over the long run. And he knew that happens best by investing in the right places.

President Obama invested in our children’s schools because he believes a good education is a necessity, not a luxury, if we’re going to create an economy built to last. He supported more than 400,000 K-12 teachers’ jobs, and he is making college more affordable and making student loans, like the ones he took out, easier to pay back.

He invested in our runways, railways and roads. President Obama knows a reliable infrastructure that helps move people to work and helps businesses move goods to market is a foundation of growth.

And the president invested in our retirement security by strengthening Medicare. The $716 billion in savings his opponents decry today extended the life of the program by nearly a decade and are making sure taxpayer dollars aren’t wasted in excessive payments to insurance companies or fraud and abuse. His opponents would end the Medicare guarantee by creating a voucher that would raise seniors’ costs by thousands of dollars and bankrupt the program.

We have more work to do, more investments to make and more waste to cut. But only one candidate in this race has proven a willingness to navigate a realistic path to prosperity.
