Dave Chappelle threatens to pull his investments if low-income housing is built in his neighborhood

Said he’s not bluffing!

Residents of a small town in Ohio — including comedian Dave Chappelle — expressed concerns at a Monday night council meeting over plans to build an affordable housing development, local news outlet Dayton Daily News reported.

The Yellow Springs Village Council voted 2-2 — one member did not vote — against it, but the 53-acre development will still be built without the affordable housing component, which would have included duplexes, according to local newspaper Yellow Springs News

The council previously approved the development to include 143 single-family homes starting at $300,000 each.

Chappelle, who currently lives in the area and frequented there as a child, threatened to remove all of his business investments from the area should the affordable housing development be built.

“I cannot believe you would make me audition for you,” Chappelle said as he took to the mic, referencing Oberer Homes, with which the council planned to build the development. “You look like clowns.”

“I am not bluffing,” Chappelle continued during the council meeting. “I will take it all off the table.”

SNL – Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock Dissect The Trump Election – Video

Something in this play struck me. While everyone was shocked about the results, Chris and Chappelle apparently knew and expected America to elect someone who got the support of racists like the KKK and White Supremacists.

Yes, we elected the first black president eight years ago then re-elected him again four years ago, but based on this play, and I’m seeing some truths in it, we have not come that far in race relations in this country.

Get Ready For The Dave Chappelle Comeback?

Speculation of a comeback by Dave Chappelle has begun anew, following a rare three-night appearance by the reclusive comedian at a New York comedy club recently.

Chappelle’s name is trending on social media today after he was joined on stage by Chris Rock at New York’s Comedy Cellar and the two joked about going on tour together.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Rock told Chappelle, “You should come down to Palm Beach,” to which Chappelle replied, “After next Tuesday, I’m free for like 11 years.”

The two even sent a text to Jay-Z and left a voice message for Arsenio Hall from the stage. “This could be the show, — fireside chats with Chris Rock,” Chappelle reportedly said.

“I’m in,” Rock replied, according to the Times.

Asked about the possibility of a Rock-Chappelle tour, Chappelle’s rep told Entertainment Weekly: “I can’t even say.”

Chappelle walked away from Hollywood in 2005, in the middle of his extremely popular “Chappelle’s Show” on Comedy Central.

He spent some time in Africa before hunkering down in rural Yellow Springs, Ohio, with his wife and family.
